It took about 45 minutes to get to Lawrenceburg by car. Grey seemed like he had something on his mind but he wasn’t saying much of anything. Willa moved closer to him in the car and grabbed his hand.“Is something on your mind? Did I do something wrong back at your family’s home to upset you?” she asked him.“Oh no! You were perfect and they loved you! I knew that they would. Mother would like it if I brought you around some more. I just have a work issue that I am trying to figure out. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.” He lied about the last part. He couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth just yet. He didn’t want to lose her when they had just gotten started. Everything was going as planned and he had never felt like this before. It was as if he was falling harder for her the more time they spent together.“Ok, if you say so, but I’m here if you need to talk to someone about whatever it is you are struggling with. I don’t understand the real-estate busine
Monday morning rolled around and Willa sprung out of bed when the rooster crowed. She had a lot to do today and this week was going to be busy. She had made arrangements with her father to purchase her own car and she was going to the car dealership later in the morning to go pick it up. She figured if she was going to be keeping different comings and goings from her dad on the way back from the office, then he probably should have his own car and driver back. Especially since he was going to try and keep up with mom in the afternoon and she was dating Grey officially. If she got tired of driving herself, then she could always hire her own driver. She met the family for the usual breakfast in the dining room and headed to the office with her dad. He was pretty chipper this Monday morning and didn’t bring up Grey at all during breakfast which she found surprising. The first thing on their agenda that day was to visit the Miller Dairy so Willa had worn a pantsuit with a low cut p
“So what are you two lovely ladies smirking about? Please, do tell. My life needs a little gossip right now. This wedding planning is taking up far too much of my time sis.” Rainey looked at her sister inquisitively and scooted herself down next to Willa without asking permission.Cal looked at his future wife sideways and said, “Now Rainey let’s not disturb their lunch with this right now. I thought that we were going to have a little time to ourselves dear?” He looked at Rainey pleadingly and then said to Willa apologetically, “Excuse your sister for wanting to nose into your business with your bestfriend Willa. I’m sure that she can wait until later to find out some gossip another time.”Cal glared at Rainey but she ignored him. He resigned himself and pulled up a chair. The waitress came by and asked if they wanted refreshments. Rainey declined and said they would not be staying long as they had another table. Cal told the waitress that he would like a glass of water.“
Willa picked up her desk phone and dialed her dad’s cell. After a few rings he picked up. She put him on speaker so that she could start looking over the stack of papers that he had left for her.“Hi dad! Did you forget to tell me anything important today?” She glanced at the first set of papers and waited for him to answer. He sounded like he was driving. She heard music playing softly in the background.“I did indeed. Honestly your mom and I are taking some time off because she is done with her chemo for a while and we want to spend some time together before she has to head back for more treatments. I am taking her to the coast for some R & R. You know how much she loves the ocean view and the sound of the waves. I know that you can handle the office and if anything comes along that you need my immediate advice with just give me a shout or talk to your sister. She has been around the block longer than you and can probably help you sort it out. Besides that there’s always
Willa sat up tall as her eyes widened. She looked at the house ahead and then at Grey questionally. He took her hand and asked “Do you like it?”She replied, “It is stunning! Did you buy this? Who's it for? Is it your mom’s new home?” She wanted to know. The car stopped in front of the house, but he didn’t answer. All of the lights were on inside. He got out of the car when the driver came around to open the door and took her hand to help her out.“Mom’s house is on the other side of Lawrenceburg. Her’s is almost ready to move into. The renovations are almost done. I bought this house for us Willa. I know that I am skipping ahead into our future, but Leslie has decided to move into my place in the city once mom moves into her new home. Since she is going to be taking over for me in the city I don’t need to spend as much time there. I can just go there when I need to. I can keep an eye on mom better from here. This way you will be close to your family and your office w
Willa closed her eyes as she was being carried up the stairs. She said to him, “You must stop me after drinking one glass of wine. I have a low tolerance for alcohol. This is the second time I have gotten tipsy on you.” Grey laughed and replied “So I see! Don’t fear from here on out I will not let you drink more than a glass. I don’t want that pretty little head of yours to hurt.” “Uh huh…” She was out. They reached the bedroom and he laid her down on the bed. He wiggled off her pantsuit and covered her up. He stood there for a minute and looked down at her smiling. “I promise to make you happy Willa and not cause you any undo stress. I'm so lucky to have you.” He whispered to her while she slept. Then he kissed her on the lips and went into the bathroom to get ready for bed. The sun came up through the windows of the masterbedroom and woke Willa up. She reached up to feel her head and said “Oh my head!” She was in pain from drinking wine the night before. I already
The salesperson that had waited on Willa thought to herself after Willa left the dress shop, ‘It sure must be nice to have that much money to be able to purchase so many dresses all at once.’ Then she placed the dresses in individual dress bags and zipped them all up. She tagged the bags with notes that read W. Stockholm and lined them up on a rack in the back of the store to be picked up later that day.Another store associate said to her when she was finished, “Who was that lady that just purchased all of those dresses? You just made the store alot of money in one big swoop.”“Oh, that was Ms. Willa Stockholm. She’s the youngest daughter of Stockholm Dairies.”“Ahh…I see! I want to be her someday.” She said dreamily. In the meanwhile, Kaysea headed back to Farmington Vineyards to check on things for her dad and find Heathe. She wanted to ask him to have lunch together with her on the estate. It took her a little longer than she anticipated to complete the work that her dad ne
Willa made her way over to her new sofa and sat down to try it out. The leather felt good and the new smell of it was fresh. Her office looked great as Tricia had an excellent eye for furniture placement. She closed her eyes for a bit and before you know it she nodded off. It was 6 pm when she heard her phone ringing. She jumped up to go find it. It was still on her dad’s desk. It stopped ringing before she could get to it. She had a voice message on it. The message was from Grey. He wanted to know if she was still at work? She quickly gathered up her things and headed out of the office while trying to call him back. Then she remembered that she needed to go and pick up her dresses at Stacy’s Bridal Boutique.Grey answered his phone quickly, “Hi there, princess…” Then there was a long pause. “Are you ok Willa? Did you see my text? I was getting worried about you.”Willa could hear the concern in his voice. She replied with patience, “Yes, I had a long day and I took a
