Cherry was outside the office waiting, she waited nervously for Rex's meeting to be over while hugging the documents tightly to her chest, she was sure her knuckles turned white from the pressure she puts.
“What am I doing here if he wasn’t my boss? Why was I so nervous all of a sudden when I stepped in there, I simply made a fool of myself, going in there and freezing like iced fish.” Cherry complained to no one other than herself. She was trying to weigh her options if she should leave or not, but she soon came up with an answer.“Nah I’ll wait.”It seems like forever before the door finally opens. Cherry straightened up from her position looking at the rich businessmen coming out in their expensive suits. They were dressed in rare fashioned materials that were uncommon in most parts of the US. Some of them greeted her with hooded eyes while some ignored her existence but the last person who looked younger than them winked at her and blew her a kiss. Cherry physically cringed at him and spat invincible spit. “Stupid rich people.” Cherry muttered very low under her breath. She grudgingly watched them as they all entered the elevator chatting without sparing her a look.Cherry has never being a fan of rich people, she always detests everything about them, because of their snobbish controlling and possessive nature Cherry had been a victim of their weird nature. She describes them as evildoers looking for who they would trample next. She was only tolerating Rex and the rude receptionist because of the money.“What was that for?” Rex asked her when his visitors were clear from the hallway.Cherry looked up at him in confusion, she noticed the fingerprints from the slap was still evident on his face. He must be pissed right now.“What?” She asked him rudely, putting up a good attitude.“Don’t play dumb with me you know what I am talking about.” He took a step closer to her, they could feel each other heat but Cherry stood her ground.“Maybe if you elaborate more I would understand.” Cherry told him and walked away from him, she carried herself with pride to her desk while Rex followed behind. She bent down gathering her things from the desk and floor in preparation to leave when Rex burst. “Don’t you ever walk out on me.” Rex roughly grabbed her by the arm forcing her to look at him.“And mind your own business.” Cherry yelled at him twitching to get her hands free.“It’s your first day here and you’ve been much trouble.” Rex spoke, his voice growing deep.“Why do you care? You aren’t my boss!” She spat in his face.“You little devil, you have no idea who you are messing with.”“I bet I do. I am messing with the wrong guy.”“So you know.” Rex lowered his voice glaring at her beautiful eyes.“I am messing with a man child who wants attention by claiming something he is not.” Cherry smiled victoriously at her statement towards him. Rex became furious with her, he pulled her and pushed her against the wall, his eyes never leaving hers.“Respect yourself I am telling you for the last time. It’s better now than late if you want to keep this job.”“You are hurting me.” Cherry interferes not giving a straight answer. She was so keen on proving herself she did not care about the consequences.“I haven’t started yet.” He said and placed her back on the ground.“Mr Angelo you have a visitor.” A man called from behind Rex but he paused seeing the awkward position they were in. He nervously stumbled on his next words not having anything to say. “So- sore- sorry-”“Who?” Rex asked him his eyes not leaving Cherry.“Mr Garcia, sir.”"What does he want?""I have no clue sir." The man responded.“Send him in.” He spoke through gritted teeth without looking at the man. The man behind quickie made a quick exit taking the elevator.“You!” He pointed a long finger at Cherry’s face and she bit on it. Her reaction surprised him which made him jerk his hand away glaring at her. “I will get back to you when I am done.” With that he walked away to the elevator.“I’ll see if that happens.” Cherry called before Rex fully disappeared into the elevators. Rex poked his head out looking at Cherry from head to toe, he said nothing and draw his head back.“You better not miss this opportunity if you love this job.” A male voice sounded from behind Cherry, startling her to the bones, Cherry looked behind her to see a very tall huge man. He was bald and he wore blue jeans with a brown polo t-shirt.“Sorry who are you?” Cherry asked the strange man, getting defensive all of a sudden.“Blade.” He answered calmly. Cherry could not point out if he was answering her to make her feel at ease with him or he was just being himself.“Do you work here?” She asked again, trying to figure who he was and what he was hiding.“The question is do you love your job?” He asked instead of answering. Cherry looked at him like he was crazy. Sh quickly suspects he was not someone clean.“I am not answering that.” She told him flatly while edging to reach for her purse. She did quite try putting up a strick face while talking to him, for she was known to be shy but fierce.“You are too stubborn and judging to realize anything.” He said and moved closer to her desk.“You have a potty mouth.” Cherry pointed at him.“Do I? Do I?” He gave her a disbelieving look, telling her she knew he was right.“What is your use here?” She decided to take the conversation into a whole different level, though she solidly prepared herself for any surprise attack if that happened.“I do not argue with chatterboxes because I have a job to keep.”“Did you just insult me?”“Did I?” He smirked a bit. “Cocky bastard.”“You are a huge piece of work.” He told her.“Are you insulting me?” Cherry asked sounding offended.“Take it as you want but I just got one thing to tell you, sorry not really tell you, rather it is an advice. Rex Angelo I know is not a calm person by nature, neither is he the best you can come across. You should consider yourself lucky and blessed you still have your job and you aren’t a victim of Rex Angelo firing side. If I were you I will hold on to it and cherish it as pure gold in the hands.” He advised her and walked to the elevator. He pauses then looked back at her.“Many will kill just to get what you have.” With that, he left.At first Cherry ignored what he said but as she prepared to leave for home his words kept haunting her mind when she did not want to think about it. She took a five minutes bathroom break but his words still linger in her mind. Feeling restless and disturbed Cherry head to her desk and sat on the chair. She then leaned back thinking about everything and how far she has gone.“What do I have that is so special?” She asked herself finally after trying to restraint her thoughts.Rex got to the fourth floor of the building where his cousin was supposed to be waiting. He closed the door behind him as soon as he was inside and approached the tall chair backing him, instead of his cousin sitting on the chair he was greeted by a certain person he never expected to see.“Rexy baby, long time no see.” Susie's sultry voice welcomed Rex. She twirled the chair fully so she was facing him.“Susie, what are you doing here?” Rex asked his ex-fiancé as long forgotten memories came flooding into his mind.“Come on Rexy love I know you missed me.” She went to hug him but he stepped away almost immediately.“Get away from me you serpent.” He snarled bitterly at her.“Serpent?” She placed a hand on her chest as if hurt by his words. “Calling me a serpent is one big bad word and you hurt me Rexy.” She whined.“It is not enough to cover up the humiliation and pain you caused me years ago.” Rex growled lowly at her, clearly
The next morning Rex woke up with a slight pang at the back of his head. He rolled off the bed and grumpily went to have his bath, once again his mind drifted off to Cherry and he began to ask himself why everything about her gives him so much interest, why did he think of her longer than he thought of his first fiancé. This thought bothered him and he wanted an explanation for it.He got out of the shower on time because his mind was getting too clouded with thoughts of Cherry, the blinds in his room were still closed shielding the room from the early sunlight. Rex got his outfit from his closet and got dressed, he later came out of his changing room and pressed a green button on the wall which split the blinds open.‘Cherry must be awake by now.’ he thought and an unconscious smile formed on his lips.Rex was dressed in his signature blood red dress shirt and black silky pants. He folded the sleeves of his dress shirt to his elbows for easy movement and walked
“His house?” Cherry whispered to herself ‘that’s impossible’ she racked her mind with thoughts of the last event that occurred before she fell asleep, the only thing that she remembered was the huge argument she had with him and the stranger she talked to after that nothing happened. “How did I then fall asleep?” She asked him. “No need to conflict your tiny brain I did nothing to you.” Rex said and stuck his hands into his pocket. “Did you just insult me?” Cherry asked getting upset. “Did you hear an ounce of insult from my mouth?” He bit back. “I hate you.” Cherry snarled at him. “Do you always have a temper?” Rex interjects making C
Rex and Cherry sat in front of the kitchen island in silence speaking nothing to each other. The silence was killing Cherry on the inside, she wanted to ask questions, she wanted to know what was going on in his mind, she wanted to ask him questions about his work, how he lived and if he actually owned the place, not that she cared but she was a bit curious to know. All Rex did throughout his meal was scroll through his phone. Even Taylor had to show up twice to serve them different food course before rounding it up with sweet dessert. As Cherry sat across Rex she could feel his eyes on her when she ate. It was very uncomfortable and annoying but she didn’t dare look up, feeling too self-conscious and shy around him.The microwave dinged signaling their food was ready. Rex stood up to dish out the macaroni Taylor made him earlier (which was their fifth br
The silence in the car was deafening, all Cherry wanted to was to leave, but she also had crazy ideas she wanted to display. The air was so thick with anger, and flames which could burn the car and neither of them was ready to speak about it. Cherry observed the strange action Rex displayed, after their near battle about Cherry’s dress code, Rex has been somewhat distant and repulsive. After ten minutes of silence, the car was parked in front of the G stark building.“You go in I will be there in a minute.” Rex spoke, not taking a glance her way, his attention was on the tablet on his lap. Without hesitation, Cherry exit the car without saying thank you or giving him a comeback, she walked into the building like a boss with no pride or sense of what she was doing. The beautiful G stark building standing tall among all other buildings surroundi
Cherry knocked on the opaque glass door, waiting nervously for Rex to answer, she was scared and agitated at the same time that Rex would snap and send her away from his company or worse ban her for life just like her old job did. “You don’t have to be polite when you are not.” Cherry jumped from where she stood frantically searching for the source voice. “Get in here Cherry.” Rex demanded over the speakers. Cherry moved her feet forward, turning the doorknob gently. She stepped into the office head bent low, she tried avoiding Rex’s eyes and he noticed the strange change in Cherry, he wondered why she was acting strange all of a sudden minutes ago she was all Bruce lee on him and now she was acting like an angel. “Did you burn down my conference room?” He asked her just to clarify she didn’t destroy one of his possessions. Something is definitely up with her she didn’t look like the submissive type neither did he know what was running through her innocent mi
Previously… “As I was saying your daily earning will be two thousand dollars or more if said otherwise.” He waited for her to respond, but she stared at him blankly having no words to say. ‘Two thousand dollars that would have been her salary for a year if she were still working at grizzly bear’. “OH.MY.GOD.” She exclaimed still finding it hard to believe. “Do I get it for real, I mean in cash not check?” She asked him to confirm he wasn’t playing around. “Yes.” He showed a small smile. “Christmas trees of bucket filled chandeliers macaroni!” She exclaimed with excitement. “Was that supposed to be a cuss?” He asked.
"Get the stinky bitch off me Rex!” Susanna yells underneath Cherry. The hallway/Cherry’s office was a disaster covered in papers, torn magazines and pencils scattered everywhere. Rex was glad none of them was hurt and other staffs were not present to see such chaos otherwise this would probably be the trending topic of tomorrow’s paper. ‘Those damned journalists have been targeting me for a long time’ one slight mistake and he is screwed by them. “I thought we talked about this.” He told Cherry while a frown was directed at the busty woman he once loved. If he’d met someone like Cherry a long time ago to put Susie in her place she would never show her face in public. Ever and Rex would worship it. “Rexy why aren’t you doing anything, this bitch is harassing me and you are standing there doing nothing!” Susanna got pissed at him for acting ignorantly. Though she still thinks she is in favor with Rex but now it is far beyond that. “Who the hell are you calling
