Mollie’s POV

My hands shook violently as I snatched the parchment from Brian's large fingers, my eyes frantically scanning the dark ink stamped onto the heavy paper. The royal wax seal of the Silvermane Pack sat at the bottom, crisp and unmistakable. Above it, written in sharp, brutal handwriting, was the official order for the immediate execution of Captain Kaelen Entwistle.

The date stamped right beside Alpha Arthur’s personal signature was just three days ago.

"Three days ago," I whispered, my voice breaking as the parchment crumpled slightly under my tightening grip. "They told me he died four years ago on the northern border. My parents cried for months, they buried an empty casket, and it was all a complete lie."

"Look at the official seal, Mollie," Brian said, his deep voice unusually soft as he stepped closer to me, his dark eyes fixed on the paper. "That is Arthur’s personal signet ring, no one else in the Silvermane kingdom holds that mark."

The crushing grief of losing my parents mixed with a sudden, boiling surge of hot rage inside my chest. The car crash on the northern ridge was no accident, Alpha Arthur had set up the entire tragedy to murder my parents, wiping out my family's noble warrior bloodline so they could never discover the truth about Kaelen. They kept my brother alive in secret, using him until he was no longer useful, then signing his death warrant without a second thought.

"He lied to me," I muttered, my breathing coming in short, harsh gasps as I looked up at Brian. "Arthur smiled in my face, he gave me a room in his palace, and all the while he was the monster who destroyed my entire life."

Before Brian could reply, heavy footsteps echoed down the stone corridor, and two high-ranking Nightshade guards rushed into the ruined chamber with their weapons drawn.

"Alpha, the fire in the eastern wing is under control," the lead guard reported, bowing his head quickly. "However, the intruder managed to scale the outer wall and vanish into the black forest."

"Lock down every gate in this fortress immediately," Brian commanded, his alpha aura flaring with absolute authority as his posture turned rigid. "Double the watch on the perimeter walls, deploy the tracking hounds, and do not let a single soul enter or leave this castle without my personal clearance."

"Understood, Alpha!" the guards called out in unison, turning on their heels to execute his orders.

Brian turned back to face me, his sharp features illuminated by the flickering torchlight on the stone wall. He reached out, his hand hovering near my shoulder for a brief second before pulling back.

"You cannot stay in these quarters tonight, the balcony doors are destroyed," Brian stated firmly. "I will move you to the high tower suites, no one can reach you there without passing through my personal guard post."

"I am not hiding in a high tower, Brian," I said, my voice hardening as I straightened my back, wiping the lingering moisture from my eyes.

"Mollie, an elite strike team just tried to slit your throat," Brian growled, taking a step toward me, his brow furrowing in irritation. "Arthur knows you are here, he wants you dead before you uncover whatever dark secrets your family left behind."

"Which is exactly why I am staying right here in the Nightshade Fortress," I countered, looking directly into his cold, intense gaze without flinching. "I am done running away from the ghosts of my past, and I am done being a helpless victim living on the mercy of others."

"What are you saying?" Brian asked, his dark eyes narrowing slightly as he studied my face.

"I am saying that Arthur wiped out my family, he took my parents, he took my brother, and he tried to throw me away like trash," I declared, my teeth clenching tightly as I took a step closer to him. "I want justice, Brian, and I want you to train me to fight back against the Silvermane Pack."

Brian stared down at me in total silence for several seconds, the heavy tension stretching between us in the ruined room. The faint scent of cedar wood and winter frost rolled off his skin, wrapping around my senses.

"My training is brutal, little wolf," Brian warned, his deep voice dropping into a low, rumbling tone. "I will not treat you like a delicate human, I will push you past your absolute limits until you can stand against supernatural speed and raw wolf strength."

"Good," I replied instantly, my chin lifted high. "Because I intend to tear Arthur's kingdom down stone by stone."

"Then we have a deal," Brian muttered, a rare, faint glimmer of respect flashing across his dark eyes.

A quiet knock echoed at the doorway, breaking the intense moment between us. An anonymous fortress guard stood in the entrance, holding a small object wrapped in dark metal chains.

"My Luna, a hooded messenger left this at the lower gate house just moments ago," the guard said, extending his hands to offer the package. "They claimed it was meant only for your hands."

I stepped past Brian, my fingers brushing against the cold iron links as I unwrapped the heavy chains. The dark cloth fell away, revealing a heavy iron box with a simple latch. I flipped the metal catch open, my breath catching in my throat as I stared inside.

Lying on the black velvet lining was a heavy silver pocket watch, its surface covered in familiar scratch marks. It was my father's old watch, the exact one he had gifted to my older brother on the day he became a battlefield captain.

I picked up the heavy watch, feeling the rhythmic, steady movement inside as it ticked loudly in the quiet room. My trembling fingers carefully pried open the small latch on the side, revealing a folded piece of yellowed parchment tucked directly behind the glass cover.

I unfolded the paper with shaking hands, my eyes widening in absolute shock as I read the messy, written note: "He is still breathing in the lower dungeons."

Brian’s POV"Draw your steel, everyone!" I roared, kicking my stallion's sides hard as the heavy horse surged forward down the muddy slope toward the lowering drawbridge. My right hand clamped around the familiar grip of my longsword, pulling the steel blade clean from its sheath with a loud, metallic rasp that cut through the early morning quiet. Mollie rode right at my left flank, her dark leather daggers drawn and held low against her saddle, while Captain Vane and our four guards galloped hard behind us with their spears raised. My chest heaved with every jump of my horse, my heart hammering against my ribs as I braced for an immediate volley of cross-bow bolts from the high battlements above. We thundered straight across the echoing oak planks of the lowered drawbridge, our horses' iron shoes kicking up sparks against the wet timber. We burst through the wide open iron gates, expecting a wall of hostile shields or a trap waiting behind the entrance, but nothing hit us. I yanked h

  • Loving The Enemy Alpha    THE OATH AT DAWN

Brian’s POV"Malakai?" I roared, taking two fast paces forward until my chest nearly brushed Nadia's green cloak, my hand clamping around the cold hilt of my sword. "Who the hell is Malakai, and why would he care about a human girl or old archive schematics?"Nadia didn't step back from my blade, her pale yellow eyes reflecting the single candle flame burning low on the oak desk between us."Malakai is a rogue commander building a massive, violent army in the dead territories beyond the northern mountain ridge," Nadia answered, her voice dropping into a flat, deadly whisper that echoed through the dusty stone aisle. "He has gathered three thousand unflagged fighters, exiles, and disgraced pack warriors under his black banner over the last two years.""Three thousand fighters?" Captain Vane gasped from behind my shoulder, his heavy iron boots shifting against the cold flagstones as his hand dropped to his own dagger. "The dead territories are supposed to be empty wasteland.""They were

  • Loving The Enemy Alpha    THE WHISPER OF MALAKAI

Mollie’s POVThe shadow stepped past Captain Vane's shoulder, and my hand flew directly to the hilt of my steel dagger, my knuckles turning white as I pulled the blade three inches from its leather sheath.A tall woman stepped out from behind the high stone archway of aisle fourteen, wearing a long traveling cloak of dark green wool that smelled heavily of forest pine and wet river mud. She pulled back her deep hood, revealing a young face framed by sharp cheekbones, two dark scars running down her left jawline, and pale yellow eyes that gleamed under the dim candlelight. Neither Brian nor I had ever seen her before, but she walked with the relaxed, quiet confidence of a trained rogue who knew every inch of this archive."Who are you?" Brian demanded, stepping firmly in front of me and resting his palm flat against his sword pommel while his alpha energy surged through the narrow stone aisle."My name is Nadia," the woman said softly, stopping six feet away from us and folding her arms

  • Loving The Enemy Alpha    ASHES IN THE VAULT

Brian’s POVI stood frozen over the damning records resting on the oak desk, my eyes locked on the bold signatures of Thomas Vance and Elena Vance written at the bottom of the yellowed parchment. The cold dust of aisle fourteen hung heavy in the damp air between us, every single detail of the ancient massacre that took my uncle and three cousins rushing through my mind like a fresh, open wound. Every instinct passed down through my alpha bloodline roared at me to step away from her, to see her as the daughter of the monsters who had handed the Silvermane council our absolute destruction.Mollie stood completely still beside the iron chest, her knuckles pale as she gripped the rough edge of the reading table, her dark eyes wide and full of fear as she waited for my anger to break over her head. Her breath came in quick, silent hitches, her body braced for me to draw my short blade or order her back to the keep dungeons in heavy iron chains. She didn't move an inch, her gaze searching m

  • Loving The Enemy Alpha    THE ARCHIVE OF SHADOWS

Mollie’s POV"Hide it?" I asked, staring at Brian's large hand covering mine on my lap, feeling the heat of his skin against my freezing knuckles. "You think hiding this letter is going to protect us from what my family built?""It keeps you alive, Mollie," Brian said, his amber eyes burning with an intense, desperate light as he stayed down on one knee beside my chair. "If the elders get their hands on this paper, they will drag you to the courtyard platform before sunrise. You do not know how deep the hatred runs for that silver blade.""I am not going to spend the rest of my life jumping at shadows in your keep, Brian," I said, pulling my hands out from under his grip and folding the stiff, water-damaged parchment back into four neat squares. "I need to see the original records for myself. I need to know every single thing my parents signed their names to.""The original technical schematics are not in this keep, Mollie," he replied, pushing himself up to his feet with a quiet grun

  • Loving The Enemy Alpha    THE ANCIENT BLADE

Brian’s POV"A silver-laced weapon," I muttered under my breath, standing frozen in the center of my cold, pitch-black private study while holding the heavy leather-bound ledger my father had sealed away in the high wall safe thirty years ago.The exact description I had uncovered in the high pack archives earlier that evening matched the strange text down to the specific, horrifying phrasing. It described a brutal, ancient blade forged with pure silver vein-metal and dark spell-craft, an ancient relic engineered generations ago that had wiped out nearly half of my ancestors in a single bloody night along the riverbank. My hands shook slightly as I turned the dry parchment page under the dim yellow light of my desktop candle, the faint smell of old leather and dried ink filling my nose."Lord Brian," Captain Vane called out softly from the hallway threshold, resting his heavy gloved hand against the open wooden doorframe while his iron armor clattered against the stone wall. "The guar
