*Melissa's POV*

I hugged the old woman back hesitantly, feeling a bit uncomfortable with the sudden physical display of affection from people I had just met. She held me tight and I was suddenly reminded of my mom, she used to hug me in the same warm and gentle way whenever she returned from her trips.

The memory brought a sting to my eyes, and I fought to push back the tears. The last thing I wanted was to cry in front of these people I just met.

Vivianne chuckled before she spoke.

"Granny, you're going to squeeze her out."

"Let me be, she's not complaining. Or are you, darling?" She released me, looking at my face with a warm smile, and I shook my head smiling back. "Such a beauty," she praised. "That grandson of mine is so uncultured, he didn't even inform me he was getting married. I had to hear it from his grandpa last night when I got back from my trip. Could you imagine?" She grumbled, walking over to sit on the sofa.
