Arabella lay back on the warm boulder. The snow was still on the ground; the sun shining, light glistening off rocks and trees. For this moment, she felt content. It surprised her that it was possible to feel this way. After all, she didn’t have a memory, she was co-existing with a man she did’t know, they were more or less stranded in the middle of a great mountain range. Yeah, what was not to be content about?

The air was redolent with the smell of spring. Animals were stirring from their deep sleep to forage for food. The world sighed as it settled into another season.
