Chapter 4

“WHAT?!” Patrice blurted as she heard her name called. She looked at Mrs. Kim with a confused expression.

Mrs. Kim just smiled at her and gestured her to come up the stage.

She looked at Mina who was looking at her with a worried expression.

*What kind of luck is this!!!!* Patrice yelled in her thoughts.

“Ms. Patrice Kwon, come up the stage.” Mrs. Kim said.

Infinite looked at her with confused eyes.

“Hey, isn’t she coming up?” Alonzo asked.

Jason chuckled. “Seems like she doesn’t want to.” He remarked.

“Hey, L. Go, fetch your tutor.” Jeric poked L who’s eyes were closed. Yes, he is sleeping all throughout.

L shot his eyes wide open as his hyung poked her. “What?” He asked.

Jeric grinned. “You have one hot chick as a tutor.” He said.

L just grinned and looked around. “Who?” He asked.

“There!” Elliot pointed at Patrice who was disgusted about the thought that she would be tutoring that arrogant guy.

L’s eyes widened as he recognized Patrice Kwon’s face. Right there, his blood began to boil as he glared at Patrice, who was now, being dragged on the stage.

“I don’t want to. I’m just going to pass my position.” She said as men dragged her on the stage. Mrs. Kim just ignored her offer.

L looked at her in disgust, not forgetting about their first meeting. *That clumsy girl who spilled macchiato on my limited edition shirt is my tutor? Fuck.* He thought as he angrily stared at Patrice.

Dean noticed L’s dark expression. “What’s wrong dude? Why are you glaring at your tutor-to-be?” He asked him curiously.

L sighed hard. “Remember the girl who spilled Macchiato on my shirt?” He asked back making Dean nod in remembrance.

“You mean, the girl you would kill for spilling that stupid drink on your favorite limited edition Nike shirt? Yeah.” Dean replied.

L sighed again. “She’s that girl.” He said with voice full of anger.

Dean’s eyes widened. “Woah! Seriously?!” He asked.

L nodded and groaned. “Damn, why is my luck playing games with me?!” He asked having a mental breakdown.

Patrice sat beside Helga who was looking at her worriedly still. “Damn.” She cussed as she messed her hair.

Helga looked at her apologetically. She knows how Patrice hates and detests L. So, this was something that is really hard for her friend.

“Thank you for participating in the draw. You may all now leave. Thank you for coming.” Mrs. Kim announced at the hall.

She waited for all of the people to be gone first before talking to the lucky winners. She faced them with a big smile. “Congratulations.”

The girls bowed and clapped aside from Patrice. Why would she? She hates this, as much as she loves the salary.

“So, now. I will tell you what to do.” Mrs. Kim started. The girls leaned in to listen attentively. “You will be starting in a week, since the departmental exam will be two weeks from now.” The tutors nodded their heads in understanding.

“You will have to talk it out with your corresponding student, regarding the schedule of the tutoring.” Mrs. Kim said.

The Infinite boys just smirked while L scoffed. *I have to talk to that human?!* He thought disgusted at the thought of him talking to Patrice. *Can Mom just kill me instead?!* He thought again.

Patrice silently groaned. *I have to talk to that human?!* She thought as she felt disgusted imagining herself talking to L. *Can Mrs. Kim just take my head instead?!* She thought again.

Mrs. Kim eyed L, who is glaring at Patrice. “Lance Kim, do you want to say something?” She asked raising her brow at him.

The rest turned their heads toward L, except for Patrice who was looking the other way.

L cleared his throat. “No.” He answered coldly as he looked away.

Mrs. Kim just smirked and looked at the tutors once more. “I hope you have the patience to go through these boys. I know they will be big burdens on you and they would interfere with your normal lives, but please help them.” She begged the tutors.

Patrice looked at Mrs. Kim’s expression. It seemed like she really needed help with this. It seemed like her life depends on this.

“I don’t want them to bring disgrace on Woollim’s name anymore. They have embarrassed this school enough and I had enough of it.” Mrs. Kim burst out making the Infinite boys look at her in disbelief.

How dare she say those things about them while they are just in front of her? That was too much.

Patrice chuckled at that. She never thought Mrs. Kim would be this cool. She loves her already. This is the kinds of adults she wanted to be family with, if ever she was adopted.

Helga looked at her. “What are you chuckling about?” She asked.

Patrice looked at Mrs. Kim. “She’s cool.” She spat.

Helga nodded. “Yeah. The coolest mom ever.” She complimented.

Patrice nodded.

“Do you understand what I told you?” Mrs. Kim asked the tutors.

“Yes, Mrs. Kim.” They all replied.

Mrs. Kim smiled. “Okay. You may now go.” She said as she turned her back on them.

Patrice stood up from her seat and prepared to go. She looked at Helga who seemed to be in a hurry.

“Patrice, sorry. I can’t walk home with you today. My boss called me. I have to go to work now because one of my co-workers didn’t show up.” Helga said sadly.

Patrice smiled and nodded. “I understand.” She said. “Then go! You will be late.” She told her.

Helga nodded and smiled. “Thank you, Patrice. See you at school!” She waved her hand and left.

Patrice waved back and watched Helga disappear on the way. She started walking off as well. She wanted to get out of this school quickly before she could kill someone.

She was about to reach the gate when someone grabbed her hand and pinned her on the wall. Patrice groaned at impact of her body and the wall. “Ouch!” She cried as she looked at the person behind all of this.

“Y-YOU?!” She yelled at him.

L smirked and glared at her. “Yes, who else?” He asked back.

Patrice looked at her with glaring eyes as well. “What do you want?” She asked fiercely.

L smirked again. “Nothing. I was just checking on my tutor who is also someone who spilled a drink on my favorite limited edition shirt.” He said menacingly.

Patrice raised her brow, not flinching at all. “So?” She asked back.

L scoffed. “Well, I just want to tell you that I hate you.” He remarked.

Patrice smirked. “Don’t worry, the feeling is mutual. I hate you more than anyone else.” She said as she tried to pry L’s hands away but L’s hands are stronger than her. She glared at L. “HEY! Let me off!” She commanded.

L smirked. “What if I don’t want to?” he asked as he leaned closer to her.

Patrice started to feel uneasy about it. She couldn’t stand being this close to this doll face. “I will kick your balls.” She threatened.

L smirked. “Like you can.” He challenged leaning even closer.

Patrice smiled sweetly. “Of course I can.” She said as she kneed L’s private part making L tumble on the floor, groaning in pain.

“YOU WENCH!!!!” He cried while holding his delicate part, still on the floor.

Patrice looked at him and smirked. “You challenged me, Lance Kim.” She said as she looked down on him, feeling satisfied that she defeated the guy she hates the most.

She turned her back on him and walked home elated.

L, on the other hand, was cursing her as he got up from the floor still pained at his private area. “You’ll see, Patrice Kwon. I will make your life a living hell.” He muttered as he walked to his car.
