Ezra releases a long sigh. ‘You could have climbed up since but you decided it was better to talk.’ Even my wolf whines in response.

‘Shush, I’m going.’ I am thinking about a jump when footsteps slice through the night. Once again, I find myself ducking behind a bush. Two nights in a row, that’s gotta be a record. Flattening myself until I’m practically one with the leaves, I flip on stealth and watch.

“Should I move to that free room upstairs? I’m tired of sharing with you guys,” One of the boys say, stretching.

“Why?” another replies between loud chip-crunches.

“What free room?” the next asks, eyes glued to his phone.

“Really? Why?” Chips questions with a mouth full.
