ROMAN’S POV

Eldon’s frown is carved in stone.

Does he know I’ve been watching him?

No. He would have come straight for me if that were the case and not set up some indirect confrontation. So what does he want to request with this deal? Something he can’t ask for out loud?

“You choose. I’ll only use physical strength.” I say, keeping my eyes locked on him. I really don’t understand what set him off.

My words only seem to fuel him. If I didn’t know better about what the pill does, I’d say he’s hopped up on something. Which would be stupid because if he were involved with the pill, taking one now would be madness knowing the negative effects.

“I’ll use only physical strength too.” He answers, flat and calm, and the room hums with surprised whispers. The instructor half-steps forward, as if to confirm Eldon’s decision, but then decides against it.

Smart choice. Eldon doesn’t look like the type to back down.

    EIRAN MAINE’S POV“Irene, do you remember who found Eldora that day?” “Yes. It was this tall man. He had long black hair and eyes as dark as yours.
