Clary’s eyes fluttered open and the first thing that hit her was an annoying headache. She soon realized she was on the floor, it was cold and smooth to the touch. She woke up from there quickly and looked around the room she was in. The room was not too big but also not too small. It had no furniture, and the floors were covered with rich marble tiles. The ceilings were decorative and high, and the air was cold. There was a faint smell of cologne that seemed familiar to her that lingered in the air. Then the memory of how she got there sparked up in her mind, causing fear to take over her body. She had been kidnapped! Clary stood to her feet quickly and rushed towards the door. She banged on it and cried, “Help! Somebody help me, please!” Each time she screamed for help, her head hurt even more. “Please, anybody!! Help!” She continued to shout nevertheless. The door suddenly made a slight clicking sound, causing her to shut up and take a few tentative steps away. She backed away
Clary felt comfortable now knowing that her life was not in danger and that she was not actually kidnapped, she had just been brought here to talk. She sat down on a couch that was in the corner of the room and processed what Mr. Clark and Selena had explained to her. “Anything?” She asked them. “Anything that I want?” Mr. Clark could see that Clary liked the idea and that she was right where they wanted her. “Yes, dear, anything. And all you have to do is leave the pack and go and live with Levi in his pack.” “And just so you know, it’s not like we’re selling you to Levi. We would never do that. You would be staying in a mansion and have your very own room. Levi is a very respectful man and he would respect your boundaries. And most of all, we are not pushing you into a relationship with the guy, we just want better for you, for Ace, and for our pack,” Selena explained. Clary nodded slowly. She was very tempted by the offer. It was exactly all they had hoped and dreamed of. And t
Clary felt lightheaded, and not just because of the dull headache that kept pounding in her head, but because of the overload of information in her brain, causing her emotions to go crazy. She did not know which emotion to pick from, whether to choose shock, pain, disbelief, anger, confusion, or rage. “You’re a liar,” Clary said to Mr. Clark as she stood to her feet. “Tell me the truth right now or I swear I would tank the deal!” She exclaimed and then released a small trembling sigh. Her eyes were filling up with tears quickly. She believed what Mr. Clark had told her about her real mom, it made sense and the dots connected. Plus he sounded so genuine when he was explaining. But Clary did not want to believe that he was her real father. Mr. Clark was on his feet and Selena did the same too. “You see, this is why I wanted you to sign the document before I told you anything,” He told Clary. “I knew that you would have reacted like this.” “She has every right to react this way. Do y
Clary was sitting on the porch of the huge mansion. So much was going through her mind and she really wanted to stop crying, but the tears kept flowing from her eyes. She was wondering whether ignorance was better than ever knowing. When she was ignorant, she had hope and a perfect fantasy about her real parents and how she would meet them. But now that she knew the truth about them, she did not like it. She wanted to erase her memory, she wanted to be ignorant again. Selena and Mr. Clark were inside but Clary could hear their voices getting louder, signaling that they were walking in her direction. Soon, they walked out of the house and their eyes fell on her. “So um, I already got my Beta to grab your toothbrush from the bathroom in your room back at the mansion,” Selena flipped her hair as she informed Clary. “They also have something to use for Mr. Clark, and they are on their way to the lab right this moment.” Clary nodded and sniffled as she wiped the new tears that had drop
Clary could feel her heart flutter as she spotted Ace in the car. She glanced at Levi who had a look of worry mixed with fear on his face. “That’s Ace, isn’t it?” She asked him but he did not verbally reply to her, he only nodded weakly. “Crap, crap, crap,” Levi mumbled under his breath as he honked the horn of the car. He knew that Ace was not going to move, the alpha was way too stubborn for that, but he at least had to try. “Can we just talk with him?” Clary suggested as she adjusted herself in her seat. Levi scoffed and then shook his head. “You want me to talk to the guy that punched me during the Royal Ball just because I asked him for you to sit with me?” Clary gave him a look and then replied, “Come on now, I heard what you said to him.” Levi wet his lips and then rocked his jaws for a few seconds while staring at Ace’s car parked right in front of their way out. “Okay, yeah, but still…Ace is not to be messed with when he’s pissed,” he informed Clary. He honked on the ho
The stones broke the window at the back of Levi’s car as he pressed on the gas hard, causing the car to speed out of the compound and past Ace. The glass had shattered, the shards projecting right to the front seats.Clary’s heart pounded in her chest and she flinched away from the shards that were shot at her but she was too late; a few of them hit her, causing a small tear on her left arm.Levi kept speeding away until he was a good and safe distance from the compound, but mainly, from Ace. “Gosh!” He exclaimed as he tried to calm down. He could feel the adrenaline rushing through his veins. He glanced at Clary and asked, “That was crazy. Are you okay?” Clary could feel the pinching pain on her left arm but she nodded and replied, “I’m okay, just keep driving.” She forced a smile. She had seen Ace angry and break things before but had never seen him try to hurt someone. “Are you sure?” “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine,” She replied in a small voice and then glanced at her arm. She could se
Clary stood by the stairs as her heart bled. She should have been used to people calling her trash and good-for-nothing by now, but the pain still felt fresh and sharp each time it happened. A tear slid down her face and she wiped it away quickly as a maid walked past her. “Good evening, ma’am,” The maid greeted Clary. Clary sniffled and smiled even though her chest still burned from what she had just heard Levi’s sister say about her. “Good evening,” She replied. “Are you okay? Would you like me to get Alpha Levi?” “No!” Clary was quick to respond, not even missing a beat. “I’m fine, thank you,” She said in a small voice as she sniffled once more. “Are you sure?” The maid asked again. She could clearly see that the omega was not okay. Clary nodded. “Yes, thanks.” She forced a small smile. The maid nodded slowly and then excused herself, leaving Clary on the stairs. “Lola, I swear if you talk like that about my guest again, I would kick you out,” Clary heard Levi threaten his
As Clary struggled to get out of the strong grip of Lola’s wolf, her mind immediately reminded her of when she was being choked by her dad when she had told him about going to the Moon festival.Tears streamed from her eyes freely and she tried to fight her way out but Lola’s wolf was way too strong. Her lungs began crying for air and her chest had a tight sensation. Right now was when she needed her wolf, but like always, it was quiet. “Please, I need your help,” She begged her wolf in her head, and almost instantly, she felt a strength that steadily grew. Her bones began to ache and grow, breaking and twisting. But then it all stopped. She felt the strength flee away and she became limp as Lola squeezed her throat even tighter. “That would teach you to never disrespect me again,” Lola said and then finally let go of Clary when she saw that the omega was about to lose consciousness. She allowed Clary to slump to the floor and watched her as she coughed and gasped for air. Lola th
