Everyone in the room was stunned and gasps were heard aloud. Clary was gaping and did not believe that Mr. Clark had just literally hit Ace in the face, and that hard.

“What the hell?” Ace too was stunned. He did not expect that from Mr. Clark. The man had never hit anyone in his life, let alone him. The Alpha stood to his feet and touched where he was hit.

He could feel a pitching pain on his bottom lip, slightly to the right side, and soon, he was able to taste the metallic taste of blood.

“Why are you like this?!” Mr. Clark bellowed, his voice echoing in the large room. He was talking to Ace. “You’re just like him! You’re just like your damn father!” He spat the words at Ace.

Ace had been holding back, he really had been trying not to let his anger get a hold of him and he was surprised that he had been successful for this long. But he was getting fed up. He was really getting fed up.

“Do not compare me to that man,” Ace warned Mr. Clark.
