" Please, Damian. They're coming." I sprang to my feet the second I heard her voice. I could pick a sharp snap of branches and crush of debris. She's running from someone, or—"Damn it!" " Do not speak. Rub mud all over your body and hide. Leave the phone on—" " It's snowing here...ahhh!" Her voice faded. Something snarls confirming my suspicion. Wolves. From my study, I rushed into the bedroom where Lisa was sprawled in a g-strings. " Why in a hurry?" She twirled her bra rope on her fingers, and adjusted with her well-rounded back to my view. Waist dipped to raise her behind with the tattoo on her right butt in full display. For years, I have longed for her succulent juice. To round her hips and roam over her body. To feel and kiss that tattoo. It was my ticket to escape from the curse. I was going to marry her and make her the queen of my empire. She would carry my pups, too. I have been obsessed over her like there was no other woman in the world. So, I can't understand why I suddenly feel an absence of appetite. Like a fountain is flowing over the furnace of my desire for her. " I have to go now. Your sister is in grave danger." " My sister? Why do you suddenly care so much about her?" She knelt on the bed, cleavages bouncing at every shake of her muscle. Back then, I would spin her and slam into her until she screamed my name. Every attempt to seduce me met stronger recompense. Right now, I can't even feel my d**k. " She is your sister!" I said flatly, typing out instructions to my secretary to come quickly. " Fine, then send someone else," she fussed. A smile parted my lips. I drew her into my arms and closed in to plant a kiss on her lips. Just like before, her breath carries a negligible scent of garlic. I turn and kiss her cheeks instead. " I'll be back before you know it." " What if she just wants to take you away from me?" She whined, and rounded my waist. Her head meets my chest perfectly, unlike Lucy who is taller. With our proximity comes that garlic smell. I didn't always hate it. In fact, I didn't notice it before. Lisa and I had several things in common, one of which was ginger and garlic tea. I developed an allergy to it after her disappearance. The doctors couldn't point out what exactly my problem was, since all my meal had them. It took Lucy's attention to identify it as the cause. Now, I can't stand it. " She wouldn't bind me to herself without my permission," I assured. She released me, frowned and folded her arms. " Are you in love with my sister?" " Why would you imagine that? Was I, yet I never touched her in five years?" " Well, I can't understand why you suddenly care about her!" All through my quest of tracking Lucy's phone, Lisa's question bugged my mind. I'm yet to shake off the feeling of being drawn to her insightful arguments. Also, I noticed a week ago that she doesn't have new clothes. I was patiently waiting for her to go on a shopping spree once she entered my family. Nothing! I can't say how much I hate the fact that she suggested divorce at a go. " Do you think your brother took her?" D, my secretary asked, worried. I had sent her ahead of me. She wound up finding Lucy's phone. I wiped the phone. Checked to see it was working. The screen came alive with a photo of Lucy in a small cottage. " D, look." I raised it to her. " Isn't this the—" " Unmistakable! It certainly is." I replied. The way she looks at peace with the peach tree overhead and the small windows opened, makes it feel like it is her home. This cottage belongs to my father's archenemy. The man I have been hoping to meet in this lifetime. I hope for our sake Lucy has no connection to him. " Get it some place safe. If anyone here finds it, she will be put to death." I left the car in her care and turned to leave. " Damian," she grabbed me by the elbow. " Please, don't hurt him. Remember you are both brothers." I snapped. " He lost that kinship when he murdered our father. I will not forgive him, but I will assure you that he won't die by my hands." I shrugged her hands off. " Park as close as possible. She might need a doctor." " We have that there..." " D! I'm taking her home with me. I won't leave her to anyone's care." " Are you?" Her eyes flashed with a discernible panic. She pressed her lips, and her breathing became heavy. " You promised me you would only use Lisa for our goal. Now, her sister?" " If you don't want to return, feel free to return to your estate. I have a matter to attend to." I dismissed her. " And by the way," I turned briefly, "Lucy gave me five years of her life. I'm standing because she saw me through my exercises. I can't turn my back on her and it's as simple as that." I said and strutted deeper into the grooves. Yards closer to the towering mansion of the confederation's capital, I was still convincing myself that they're wrong about me. I can't love someone like her. There's no point hiding her stark desperation. Also, I know of her past with my brother. I might've lost most of my senses along with my wolf, but her scent carried his. Although, I have crossed out her involvement in my accident, I can't overlook her one-night stand with my brother. I hate sharing my women. Certainly not with either of those two. From the moment he dropped the question, to the time my father had his men march me to the bride's room like a prisoner of war, bound in fetters, and shamed through the streets of men who couldn't wait for me to be pronounced guilty inorder to rip my clothes off me, my muscles contracted painfully, uncertainty dragging the reins of my helplessness. My heart lurched, a wave of shivers leaving me with a shuddering breath. Even my father didn't doubt my involvement. Almost like everyone wanted to get rid of me.It wasn't the death that scared me. It was the process which would be involved in proving my innocence that scared.I would have to drink her blood. The blood oath. The prove everyone is waiting for. “ Drink it all!” Damian scowled, eyes burning like molten lava. It hasn't changed since his arrival in the hall.I swallowed it all down to dregs, the metallic taste lingering on my tongue long after I had licked it off my lips. “ According to our traditions,” I said, with one hand
I felt a skip in my heartbeat. I glanced at my father wondering how he had agreed with something as ridiculous as this. I am to take the crown from his head and transfer it to Damian. What other way would they tell me to give him my crown myself. “ Let me get this straight. Something tells you all that I would go along with this preposterous plan? You wouldn't think that father. Certainly you must know I wouldn't bow to this nonsense.”“ Yes,” she replied. “ We knew. Which is why we made a second plan.”“ A second plan? Fine. Out with it! Tell me how you intend to cage me so that I can't raise my head or cough a word while carrying out your goal for global peace.”She chuckled softly. “ Why would you think that? Of course you know I wouldn't dare. Your mother's loyal men would sooner hang me in the cursed fields than have me hurt a hair of your head.”“ I'm glad you and I share that opinion. So, what do you have in store for me…stepmom?” I said, after fighting off the urge to call he
They could be getting wed and this is his own way of telling me ahead of time. I imagined her by his side and my chest tightened. I could not be with him openly, but she would. Even in private, he has grown distance…gone from my side to be with her. “ I knew you must have learnt about us. That alone would explain your attitude.”I waited for it to fall. For this weight on my chest to fall off with the confirmation of my suspicion. “ I never planned for it. The goddess had her own plans…”“ The goddess?” I shrieked in near horror. “ No…no…no. It can not be. Tell me this isn't true.” I cried.“ She's my fated mate.” He announced. My knees knocked and crumbled to the ground. “ It cannot be,” I mumbled, reality sinking into my muddled brain. Every pang I felt when I learnt about her, returned. Twice as worse. Hitting home like it could saw me in two. Getting the reins of my emotions, I got up from the grown, looking into space like whatever that had dared to offend me was across my pos
(Third person POV)On the wall, a tablet reads 30LC, with strokes marking and crossing months that had gone by in the Lycan Calender. Marked as 30LC. Daisies and roses adorn a flowery pot on each side of the room, its fresh scent perfuming the whole room. Seated on the dining, are the two royal bloodline since the first descent. And today, a marriage proposal has brought them to the same table. “ Damian,” the king called, and took the alpha prince aside. “ Your sister has been summoned but she will not appear. Our guests can not be kept waiting any longer, neither will I oblige her anymore. This would make the fifth marriage she is rejecting, and I will not have it.”“ I shall talk to her,” he replied coldly and exited into an adjoining corridor. Moments later, he arrived at her door. It's parted, just enough to let her pet through. He looked inside and met everywhere neatly set, but she's asleep.“ Lucy Delily. You can not sleep this long on a day like this,” he said, and tapped her
(Lucy)I don't know which one is more embarrassing. This young uncivil man, shredding the top of my dress in the midst of over fifty people scattered everywhere. Or the fact that guards are sweeping in like it's doomsday, inviting my eyes to feast on my half-naked cleavage.Good lord!Someone loped straight up to me, and threw a jacket over my shoulders, with the back of the jacket covering my chest. I mumble a thank you, sincerely grateful for the quick save.“ May I accompany you back to your quarters, ma'am?” He asked politely. The way he says it makes me question myself if I had run into him earlier. It comes back negative, and that is when my eyes roamed around until it settled some metres away, where a familiar figure radiates a hot rugged charm, with an aristocratic pose and demeanor that tugged at my heartstrings... momentarily...but that aura…it feels like I am looking straight at the angel of death.I glanced at his line of sight and met the young man who had torn my dress,
(Damian)I have been told about my five times of reincarnation, but the healers never identified the face of the woman. All they told me of was the tattoo. So when I found Lisa, I thought I had finally found her. The woman who has been destined to meet her end in my hands in every lifetime. A part of me wanted to correct the pattern, but something else works for it as well — having a pup. She's the only one that can carry my child. The five stars of reincarnation meant something to me. I couldn't fathom there could be another reason for her to have such a tattoo on, other than as a result of glimpsing into the past we both lived through together. But I was wrong. Maybe it wasn't a tattoo after all. Maybe Lisa had copied the real mark of the five stars from someone…it's true owner. I waited until she had finalized on the day of the time walk. The head healer excused herself and that's when I got up to meet her. “ By chance,” I droned, repeating the question in my head ever before th
