Katrina’s Point of View
“How dare you disobey and hurt your alpha for an omega?” Mrs Blackwood pretends to pass out from anger, holding her temples.
I almost roll my eyes. She can be such a drama queen seriously.
“Get Pack, Doctor Andrea over here!” Xavier panicked, rushing to his mother’s while she pretended to be struggling to breathe.
“Mother, you’d better get some rest. After all, Doctor Andrea is almost finished with the medication he prescribed for you. The Doctor won’t be coming back again.” I murmur, leaning in as I help Thelma to her feet.
“Katrina, how dare you stop a doctor from coming to treat my mother? You miscreant bitch!” Xavier spat, his eyes flickering.
“Alpha Xavier, it was Doctor Andrea himself who resigned. He felt that treating people with disgusting ethics would be a stain on his professional reputation.” I smirked, doing back the urge to burst out laughing at the scene unfolding before me. He thought people would stay?
I helped Thelma up and was about to leave when Bianca stopped us. She shouted at me, “You vicious witch, you are not worthy to be Luna or Alpha’s mate. Alpha should reject you and banish you from the Pack! Your pack is gone, and so should you! You deserve to live like a rogue, living off and begging for scraps!” She yelled, walking after me, but I sighed heavily, turning on my heel to look at her.
I have to hand it to her. She has some guts speaking to me like that after what I just subjected her mate to.
“That depends on whether you have what it takes! I welcome rejection,” I said out loud, which infuriated Xavier. It was certainly a provocation of his superiority.
Mrs. Blackwood stirs up trouble, despite trying to keep up with her little show. “Reject her. Not a penny of your dowry or our assets will she take with her.”
Bianca smirked, folding her arms as she tilted her head, waiting for me to respond.
“Tomorrow I will bring my Pack lawyer to discuss the agreement. As soon as Xavier utters the word rejection, I will gladly accept,” I said through gritted teeth.
Xavier clenches his jaws, staring me down as a smile tugs on my lips
Xavier growls, “You should know that if you are expelled from the Pack, you cannot take a single penny with you.”
“Then we’ll see if you can take it with you.” I sneered, holding on tight to Thelma.
He believes he would take away what rightfully belongs to me. He stands no chance with me.
I turned on my heel with Thelma walking out of the house. I would not spend one minute listening to them swarm over each other.
I got into the car and asked the driver to take me away. Thelma said worriedly, “Luna, you know that once you are banished from the Pack, you will become the despised rogue.”
I reassured her with a smile on my face, “Don’t worry, they can’t get me. Their tricks are nothing compared to the monsters I have encountered before.”
Her eyes roamed all over my face, like she was trying to see if I was worried. But I have been through worse than this.

We arrived outside the Alpha King’s Pack House. Ryan the Beta looked at me with concern and said, “Katrina, they won the war. Alpha King won’t help you.” Just as he saw me approaching him.
He must have gotten wind of what just happened a few hours ago, but that will not stop me from trying.
I need to make a case before the Alpha King. I don’t care how long I have to wait for him to grant me an audience with him.
I waited at the door for three hours before I finally met Alpha King, Cassian Knox.
I had seen him many times when he came to parties in my pack when I was a little girl. He was my brother’s best friend. They were very close back then. But he changed when he became the heir to Alpha King. My brother had a big fight with him before he went off to war, and that was the last time they saw each other.
I know he was no longer that young boy who used to sneak over to Snow Pack to hang out with us.
I knelt before Cassian on one knee in the warrior’s etiquette. Looking at him through my lashes, he still hasn’t aged a bit.
The shoulder length, wavy hair falls free, a dirty beard and, as always, wearing through tight shirts with muscles rippling through them.
I can’t believe there was a time I once had a crush on him. I must have been blind to think this was even handsome in the slightest.
“Alpha King Cassian, I know that Blackwood Pack has used their war honours for Luna Duet this time. However, it will soon be the anniversary of my father's and brother’s death. I would also like to use my entire family’s war honours and ask you to grant me one thing.” I finally manage to speak.
“Luna Katrina, this matter has been settled, and I will not change my mind. You need to let it go.” He says, his voice was cold and final sitting back on his gold-covered throne.
I clench tight my jaws, taking a deep breath. “I respectfully ask for your permission to have Xavier and I reject each other and break off this bond.”
“You didn’t come to plead with me to take back Luna Duet, but to ask for an end to the mate bond with Xavier?” He sounds surprised to hear that when I lift my head to look at him, not backing down from his staring contest
“Do you know what Xavier’s REJECTION means?” He asks, sitting back in his chair as I gulp down the lump forming in my throat.
“Yes, I’m almost the only one left from Snow Pack today. My family’s reputation has been well known and respected for decades. I don’t want my family’s name to rub off on me and be an invisible voice in Blackwood Pack ever again.” I added,
He stares at me, his eyes roaming all over my face, but I put on my brave face. I will not let myself be intimidated by the same boy who once ate from my father’s house...
“Xavier is now your MATE as well. Are you sure you are willing to leave him? Breaking the MATE bond will hurt you a lot,” Alpha King Cassian said.
I almost chuckle but keep quiet. Why would he act like he cares about me or what happens to me? Wasn’t he the one who allowed something this humiliating to happen to me?
“Forgive me, Alpha King, but he decided to leave me. I can do the same with mine. Please give me permission to cut any ties I have with Blackwood so that I can re-establish the Snow Pack.” I put in my request, waiting for his response.
He stares at me, taking a moment as his eyes roam all over my face before he finally speaks. “You should return to Blackwood for now. I need to think about it. I will have someone come to Blackwood tomorrow to announce the final verdict.”
My heart races when he asks whether does Alpha King agrees to endorse my rejection or not.
Katrina’s point of view“What’s happening? Why is there an emergency meeting in the war room?” Lucius asked me as he arrived in front of the palace, Junie with him in the back seat.“Cassian plans to attack the mountains. How is she?” I ask, walking towards him. Then Junie comes out, already changed into joggers and a shirt. I am familiar with the shirt she has on. My brows knit, but I schooled my features before Lucius could say anything.“I gave her what I had in the car,” he explains, but I force a smile, turning to Junie, who is walking towards us, a limp in her step.“Hey. How are you feeling?” I ask, going to hug her.She shrugs, “I didn’t die. So, I guess it’s not bad.”I pull her into a tight embrace, stroking her back as I sigh heavily. She is alive, hurt, but still alive.“Is he...” She pauses as I pull away from her.“He is fine. Let me take you to your room, then maybe later you can talk to him?” I ask,“He saved me, Katrina. I thought I was going to die then…” She pauses,
Katrina’s point of view“Katrina,” He whispers, his voice breaking as I step away from him. There’s a glint of disappointment in his eyes. “If you become king, then we can’t leave. We can’t…” I pause, lifting my gaze to look at him.“We can’t be together if you are king,” I say, my voice breaking as he sighs heavily. I wipe my tears and then look at him.’“Does this mean…”“Yes, I will marry you, but to do that, Cassian needs to live. So please,” I plead as he scoffs. He comes closer, planting a kiss on my lips.“I will be back for you.”“Go. Make sure she lives,” I growl,‘Well, we are leaving?’ Sage asks.‘I told you. Fuck the law. We will live how we want.’‘And Ingrid?’‘I don’t care. She will have to watch him marry us’ I say with a smirk on my lips. It’s the first time I have ever wanted something and like she said. I need to choose myself before anyone else.I walk towards the car, checking on the blood. I can pick Cassian’s scent, then go after him. Lifting an arm to shield m
Katrina’s point of view“That was strange,” I said, a smile on my face as I looked at Lucius, who shrugged, coming closer to me, his hand hovering over my cheek where John had hit me.He clenched his jaw tightly and then inhaled sharply. “I should cut off his hand for hitting you.”“It doesn’t hurt. Barely even noticed,” I lie. Shit hurts, but I don’t want him worrying about something like this.“You are not such a good liar. Do you know that?” He snakes his arm around my waist then pulls me closer to him; he smells so good. His musky aftershave hits my nostrils as I lift my arms, wrapping them around his neck.“I miss us, Katrina.” He says, dropping his forehead to my head, and I close my eyes, just savoring this moment. We haven’t been so close for weeks. It’s like our lives are being controlled by someone who doesn’t like us.“Me too.”“I hate that we keep fighting. I hate it so much,” He whispers, brushing his nose against mine.“I miss you so much,” I whisper to him, lifting my h
Juniper’s point of viewI want freedom. I don’t want to be tied to someone, but why did this man’s wolf call me? Why did I drop to my knees and mark the most powerful man on the continent? And why is this man standing here like a possessive mate who will do anything to protect me?“Forgive us, your grace. But Ms. Watson is set to return with us. She is—”“Tell your master I said no,” He growls; my eyes lift to find his face. He has his jaw clenched tight, his head held high, and his shoulders straight. His aura sucking out the surrounding air.“She is betrothed, your Grace. Her fiancé is—”“Tell her fiancé and your master that she belongs to me now. If they want her, they can try to take her off me,” he growls. Everything in me wants to scream. I don’t belong to anyone, but seeing him try to protect me right now makes me decide to keep my mouth shut.“Let’s go,” he takes my hand in his, then begins to walk away without looking back at everyone. His hand feels so soft but yet huge, as
Katrina’s point of view“Please don’t speak to your mother like that” I said to him as soon as we got in the car. I didn’t expect to find Princess Ingrid here, but Lucius insisted we make a stop here while searching for juniper. “I don’t fucking care. She has no right to speak to you that way,” he growls.“Still. I wouldn’t want our son to speak to me like that.” I said as he snapped his head towards me, looking at me like I had just grown two extra pairs of ears.“What?”“You said our son,” he says as my lips part. I didn’t even realize I said that outwardly. “I don’t...I…”“Our son, Kat. You said it. Does that mean…” he paused, holding his breath as I scoffed. “It wasn’t like that. Lucius, you know I would never want…” I stuttered.“I don’t care. I know I am in your future. That’s all that matters,” he says, and I chuckle. I can’t believe that after everything I had to say, he only heard that. But then I have also spent some time thinking of what our lives would be like if we left a
Ingrid's point of viewThe drive to her house takes us over an hour from the other side of the capital. Just like I expected, there’s tight security at the gate. It takes them calling the house for them to finally let me into the compound, and I can’t believe how well the mansion is kept.Once I got out of the car. I carry the basket out before making my way towards the door before we even get to the door. The top-to-bottom glass doors open, and someone is welcoming us.“Good morning, Princess.” The woman curtly bows her head before me, and I force a smile before walking inside the house.“Please wait here. She will be joining you soon,” She gestures for me towards the lounge, and I nod before going to sit down. I place the basket on the table. Looking around the room above the fireplace there’s a huge painting and other portraits are of Lucius and her, but with just a few of Lucius’s father.“Princess Ingrid. What a pleasant surprise,” she says behind me as I turn around to face her.
Ingrid’s point of view“What the fuck is going on, Ingrid?” My uncle asked me after I went to see him. I paused at the door before lifting my head to look at him.“I need your help.”“Ingrid”“Uncle Dante, I know. I know you said you wouldn’t get involved, but he is my mate,” I insisted, walking towards the table. My eyes stung with tears. “Your father sent you here so that you could move on and leave everything behind. This thing with Lucius. You need—” “No. Lucius Grimmwolf is my mate, and I will not let some stuck-up princess take him away from me.” I slammed my hands on his desk, and he sat back in his chair, giving me a hard stare.“What do you think you are doing, Ingrid? You think he will look at you? Do you believe that—”“He will when he finds out the truth about himself,” I said to him, and he raised his brow, looking me straight in my eyes.“The truth about himself? What’s that supposed to mean?”“You said you wanted to gain favor in the Alpha king’s eyes, right? What if I
Lucius’s point of view“Our bond. I can’t feel it.” I said to her, my voice breaking. It’s the only thing that kept me going for ten years, and now it is gone. Every time I tried to find her or feel her emotions, it felt like I was hitting a wall.My wolf has been uneasy since then, and I can’t understand what is happening.“Lucius,” she whispered, bringing her hand to mine, but I couldn’t look at her. I had hoped that it would be enough for me and her. That the bond I held on for so long would suffice, but I just lost it, and just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, she had Cassian’s scent all over her.“Lucius?” She took my hand into hers, and I lifted my eyes, meeting hers as she smiled weakly at me.“The bond might have been what brought us together. But what we feel for each other is what has kept us until now. Not our bond,” she said with such assurance, but I couldn’t help it. I felt empty. I felt a void in me.“Unless it’s different for you.”“No. It’s just…”“I love
Katrina’s point of view“Cassian, wait. You can’t…” I rushed after him as he kept on walking while barking instructions to his new assistant.“Wait.” I rushed, grabbing him by his arm. He was acting like a possessive man, not wanting to let go of his mate.“Let me find her. You going to look for her will drive her away,” I say, my heart racing as I looked at him. I saw how people were looking at me as Cassian dropped his gaze to his arm.Shit.I withdrew my hand from his arm. “If you send people after her. It will only make her want to run. I can talk to her and bring her back.”He clenched his jaw tightly as his chest rose and fell. His irises are changing back to their usual color.“Are you sure you can bring her back?” he asks, and I nod.“Fine. You have until midnight. If she is not back in her room. I will personally be coming for her.” With that, he turned on his heel, heading back to his chambers as I glanced at Blake, who dipped his head, then followed Cassian behind.Oh Junip
