I ran into a hut, long forgotten hut I guess, made from hay and sticks that were tied together firmly, with plant ropes.
As I got into the hut, panting heavily, I gripped onto my throbbing chest, as I tried to catch my breath.
"It has been a long run and I guess this place will make a good comfort for the night." I thought, and walked quietly and slowly pass the dried sticks that creaked as I stepped on them.
I pushed the God knows how long old door open, and peep from the little space that was created, as I pushed the door more.
"How come no one stays here and the inside looks this neat and well arranged?" I pondered and stared dumbly at the interior arrangements of the hut, which looked a little bigger from the inside than the outside.
The door opened fully eventually and my right foot went in first. Then I peeped a little closer as I pushed my head forward and held the door knob tightly, "just in case someone lives here." I thought again and walked out of the house, looked around sternly and strictly; I felt relieved. A little, as I took a deep breath.
And confidently, with a little amount of fear, I entered the house and behind me, the door shut itself.
"Wait.. what?" I bothered, my heart throbbed more than the first time, and a grave silence followed the bang from the door.
I just stood there like a figurine, wouldn't dare to flinch.
"Grrrrh..." a low snarl interrupted the silence and I wheeled back to gaze upon what was the source of it.
A large wolf stood behind me, with its blazing eyes staring right into my cold face. I haven't seen anything of such in my whole life.
A huge wolf, twice the size of my father's wolf.
It snapped at me and bazed me for some minutes and then, it shifted into a being.
A human!
"S... si... sir." I stuttered as I startled, maintaining my position as he walked, slowly, circling me with his hand held behind him, and his long, well brushed black minced with white hair, make reflections of the light that came in through the window and darkened as he walked back into the shadows and danced to the wind, still walking around me.
He halted abruptly, and brought his hands forward, letting go of the violet coat he was wearing, that his hands ruffled as he held his hands backwards again.
"Wow, you are a little girl." he paused and looked down at me once again with a smirk and scoffed. "It's been long since I saw a little werewolf wandering around here. And if I may ask, kid," he stopped a while and crouched down, stared right into my eyeballs, "what brought you here?" He asked and I remained dumb and shaky, as his baritone frightened the hell outta me.
"Moon goddess, please save me." I mumbled and blacked out.
AFTER AN HOUR.
I sipped the warm tea he gave me, as I sat on his bed at the edge, made from oak trees. Quickly, I adjusted as his footsteps approached and his sandals visualized from under the almost ripped apart curtain that was at the entrance of a room; a dark one, from my point of view. His full body ensued.
"Wow! You're awake." he said with a grin on his face and he placed the napkin he was using to rub his palms to get rid of the water he had on them, which was obvious because he didn't do it well.
"Yes." I puttered and took another sip of the tea.
"I'm sorry for the not okay welcome you experienced earlier. My name is Erl; Erl Reyhound." he said with a smile on his face.
"Oh my goodness, the great Erl..!" I thought and my face glowed with a touch of nervousness. Erl only was the name I heard of... and now I am seeing my hero in front of me. And out of curiosity, I hugged him tightly and called him "my hero."
"Whoa! No, I'm not my brother. Erl the great is my young brother, who died fighting and his death made me become this." he looked around the hut and spread his arm gesticulating. "Alll of these.." and then he turned back to me, walked up to me and sat beside me, which made the bed sunk in and made me lose my balance a little. "My brother, Erl Tyrie, was born with more supernatural abilities than just being a werewolf. Well, he used it for good and he was later betrayed by one of his men who long for the post of an Alpha." he exhaled sharply and continued. "Thank Goddess I could run the fastest, and that was how I escaped into this place. Waiting for the prophecy."
"Prophecy…? What prophecy?" I looked up at him and asked.
"The prophecy of the one werewolf who will be born in Balbrigga. She or he would deliver us from the tyrants called Dojras."
"Dojras..? I've heard the name before.. from my mother. She was killed by one of them and my town was torn apart and burnt by them as well." My weary eyes couldn't hold back the tears that rolled down my cheeks, and I bowed gently in sobriety and sorrow.
"I'm sorry kid." He said and placed my head on his chest and ruffled my hair gently to pet me, but the pain and sorrow didn't leave me.
I felt the pain coursing through my blood and veins, and I felt a great pain and darkness as I pondered over the incident.
"It's okay." He consoled as he continued to pet me, running his palm on my gently skin.
It worked as the pain reduced, and the darkness in me that crave for revenge, left me. He raised my head gently as I sobbed.
"Wait, what is this?"
"What?" I asked him softly and sobbed some more.
"Your eyeballs..." He stared at me for a period of time and held my face upright "they glow. Just like my brother's."
"Erl Tyrie?" I asked, innocently.
"Yes, Tyrie. His eyeballs also glowed when he had not learned the use of his inner powers, which he possessed."
"Wow, what!" I exclaimed. Happy, sad and surprised. There was a mixture of feelings going through my brain and even when I hadn't grasped all he was saying, well enough "I can also be like my hero" I thought and felt happy.
We were startled when we heard rattling from far away and near.
"They know you are alive and they will be here any minute kid." Reyhound grabbed me and in a flash I'm already behind him, on his back.
"My name is Beck." I said, grumbling as he held me tight.
"Okay Beck. It's time to run. They already know of your powers, and I'm certain. And the tyrants won't stop until they get hold of you which I won't let happen. So hold on to me and learn." He went to the other door, but didn't open it and instead, opened up a dungeon that was not obvious, for a first timer. He grabbed an axe, made from silver and apparently heavy, as he grunt while grabbing it. I only sat in his back, holding him tight and watch him pick things we were going to eat on the way. He jumped into the dungeon and closed the cover and then, we kept running through one of the tunnels.
Erl Reyhound brought me into a house, through the tunnel, and he dropped me from his back. I twirled to take a look at the house and it was beautiful and enormous. I stared at the paintings, hung on the wall, and one caught my eyes. Erl Reyhound stood near Dyth-orak. The legendary warrior that died, 300years ago. It wowed me and I walked towards the painting, moved my hand on it, and its rough surface, to check if the painting was real, as I saw him stand beside him it. It was quite amazing. Obviously, he is absolutely one of the legendary werewolves for he to be painted years ago before the birth of Taseaus Eil, the one that is still alive till date, whom I thought was the oldest werewolf. I was startled as I heard sharp clangs. I turned around and found no one; the room was in a grave silence and my heart started to pound as I saw that the room was left to me. "Hey Reyhound!" I called. "Reyhound where are you at?" I called again, softly as I tiptoed to the nearest door."Hey" he
As early as 5:00am, Reyhound was already up from bed and the scent from the spicy chicken soup he was preparing woke me up. I rubbed my hand on my eyes to see clearly, and I yawned, covering my mouth and sat up on the bed. I looked around the blue world and it looked more beautiful, like it had been repainted and restructured overnight. I exhaled and sighed softly as a sign of relief, from the previous day's stress. I scrubbed my butts on the soft surface, as I dragged myself to the edge of the bed, tucked my feet into the puffy bathroom slippers that was already on the floor, beneath the bed, by the edge. "Wow" the slippers looked cool and beautiful, as I looked at it and felt it. I moved into the bathroom and put off the robe that was on me. A white big robe, the robe was bigger than me. Obviously the girl that the room was made for, was much taller than me. I hurled the robe and walked into the bathroom to take my bath. I was done with bathing and dressing, which took almost a
"Hey, girl!" Someone said to me."Ow!.. I'm sorry, who are you?" I asked as I grunted, probably just waking up from the long sleep. "I am Myris." She answered me in a low, soft and sweet voice. She was about 5feet tall and had long eyelashes on. Her face was oval in shape and she wore a smile as she talked to me. Her black gown flapped as the wind gushed in. She stood up from her crouch and dabbed my forehead with her warm hands. "Okay..." I said with a sprinkle of forced smile and confusion as I tried to sit up, which didn't go well enough as I failed sitting up. "Do you remember anything?" Myris asked as her gaze was still fixed at my face strictly. A bit of worry was written over her face."I think, I remembered walking out of the house." I said and nudged my head. "Oh...! Where's Reyhound?" I grabbed Myris by the arms."We don't know who Reyhound is" she scoffed."Oh God!" I held my head "I was about to have the chicken soup and then I went out to get Reyhound... Then I felt a
I walked to the boy and sat quietly beside him. "Hey, what's up with you? You don't like playing I guess." I told him. He raised his head up slowly and looked at me with a smile on his face. "You're in a good mood and all alone..? What's your name?" My lips stretched, returning my own smile to him."Orlan Phileus." He said, with a smile still on his beautiful face. "And you?" He questioned. "Beck Barthon" I replied, and I pulled my right hand from folding it and stretched it towards him as I sat up well. He returned same and we shook hands lovingly. "When did you come here, Orlan?" "I came here when I was very young, and I've been living here since then." "So you're a werewolf too?" I asked as I folded my arms together again and faded out my smile into a serious face."Hmm... No I'm not. and that's why I've been facing secret bullying and a lot of lonesomeness until now. Only the new students talk to me a few times and leave me when they find out that I can't cope with hard plays,
TEN YEARS LATER.I was sitting at a deserted spot, no one was there, even the trees weren't waving to the wind. The place seemed haunted, but having a bad day in school was haunting me more. I wished the memories of my experience would end right now, it didn't but stayed there, rattling and pattering inside there. I don't know how but I ended up receiving that this semester in college. Many other persons as well, but mine should have been an exemption. Though I wasn't the best in college, but I always did well enough. I just sat there and let my sadness hunt me, drenched in tears. After some minutes of my mourning, Athan came to me and sat beside me.Athan is a male friend of mine, he is also a human and not a werewolf, I had few friends during my time in first year in college. Athan and Kaul were the ones who were close to me because we share the same classroom and we sit next to each other. Although Kaul was a werewolf."Hey girl, what's up?" Athan said from behind me. I wasn't in
That Saturday was the day we fixed for the date. Saturday morning. I woke up when my alarm rang by 6 am. My veins stretched and bones creaked as I stretched myself on the bed. The alarm was still ringing and it kept quiet after a while, the moment I hit the dancing, big, red button on it. I dragged my sluggish self from the bed and stretched again with my bones cracking, yawned and released my hands on my laps with a loud tap sound. I checked my nightgown, looked from side to side and finally rose up from the bed. I walked wobbly to the bathroom, looked around and came back out to change into my towels. I took my brush and brushed my teeth, went into the bathroom again and gave my warm body a cold shower, which felt good. I came out and after some minutes of walking naked in my closed room, I finally had the idea of wearing something, which I did. I wore a long, black, flowing gown, with straps and seeing my long worn beret. I pitied it and tuck my hair into it well. Finally, the i
Alone in my room, I sat in the bed, with my own dancing on my pages. It was weeks to the final examinations in college, my final examination in school that will determine if I am a failure or not. I just finished the assessments that was loaded to me, by Miss Claud. My after school tutor, who was assigned to tutor me by Orlan. She has been doing a really great job, and it has been helpful, since I had been bundled with works and I had to do them. I became a bookworm, soon after a long time of tutorials. I was working on chemistry. It was a subject that I had been battling with, in school. It was my greatest fear, and my target. "Hello there, it's time for lunch." Kaul came knocking at my door, it was 01:02 pm. That was when we have our lunch, around one of clock, and in the cafeteria. I exhaled sharply, sat up idly and looked at the books dully. I walked down from the bed and left the book leaves flipped over and over, because I left the window opened to let the fresh air and sunlig
Alpha Ros walked towards Orlan and passed by him, as Orlan didn't show regards to him and vice versa. Alpha Ros came to check on me and Orlan left the place. After some couple of days, the time for the exam came very near. I was under a oak tree, at the backyard. The breeze under the tree was very favourable and mild. I was flipping the pages slowly as I grasp enough from them. All I was doing was mere rereading, I had read more than enough, that would be very helpful for me. Steps approached faintly and looking at the footwear, I grasped that it was Kaul, coming. "Hey Kaul." With my eyes, still fixed on the pages, I greeted him bluntly. How are you doing? Ugh!" He moaned as he sat by me .on the bench, under that tree."I'm doing well, I see you're done reading, book nerd.""Thanks for the accolade. Teaser" he was probably there to distract me from reading, with one of his gist. His head was up, facing the branches and leaves. His eyeballs kept rolling and he kept tapping the groun
