TRACY

"You left the front doors wide open."

Standing at the top of the grand staircase, cold wind whipped past my ankles. Rain blew into the packhouse foyer, soaking the expensive rugs. Sean just stood there on the marble floor. Rainwater dripped from his dark hair, sliding down his jaw and soaking his shirt. He didn't move to close the doors. He just stared at the empty space in front of him, looking like a man who had just hollowed out his own chest.

Hurrying down the steps, my bare feet slap

TRACY "You forgot to lock the sliding glass door, Tracy." Freezing wind rushed into the warm kitchen. Dropping my ceramic coffee mug, it shattered into a dozen sharp pieces against the hardwood floor. Hot peppermint tea splashed across my bare ankles. Rain lashed violently against the floor-to-ceiling windows of my new apartment. Midnight in the Northern Peak territory usually brought a deep, profound silence, but the winter storm outside raged with ruthless energy. Standing near the fluttering balcony curtains, Chandler Gaunt stepped out of the freezing winter shadows. He looked like a rotting corpse. Dirty, matted hair clung to his sunken cheeks. A stained, oversized wool overcoat hung loose on his starving frame. His eyes carried a frantic, feverish shine. In his right hand, he gripped a silver-plated pistol. In his left hand, he held a thick glass syringe filled with a glowing, toxic yellow liquid. Surviving this night meant stalling him long enough to press the silent panic b

TRACY“Press hard on the pen, Ms. Sterling. There are three carbon copies underneath.”The landlord tapped a thick, stubby finger against the bottom line of the lease agreement, his expression serious despite the faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.I leaned over the kitchen counter that had been temporarily converted into a makeshift desk and pressed the pen firmly against the paper. My signature flowed across the designated line.Tracy Sterling. For a few seconds, I simply stared at it.It was only a signature.Just ink on paper.Yet somehow, it felt like I had just signed a declaration of independence.I had spent so many years signing things that belonged to other people. Medical forms. Pack documents. Contracts Chandler insisted I needed to sign. Agreements where my future had been decided before I was even allowed to read the fine print. This was different. This apartment was mine.Handing the clipboard back, I couldn’t stop the genuine smile that spread across my fac

TRACY“Unzip this jacket before my ribs snap.”Turning my back to him, I lifted my dark hair out of the way and exhaled the breath I had been holding for what felt like hours. The Geneva penthouse suite smelled of fresh pine needles, expensive floor wax, and the faint trace of champagne that had been poured throughout the evening. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, freezing wind battered the building with relentless force, sending tiny flecks of snow spiraling through the night sky.Inside, everything was warm.Safe.Quiet.For the first time in years, I didn’t feel like I needed to look over my shoulder. My only goal tonight was to strip away the corporate armor I had been wearing since dawn and finally let my lungs expand.Cold metal slid slowly down my spine as Sean pulled the hidden zipper of my blouse.“You didn’t look like you were suffocating on that stage.”His rough knuckles brushed against my bare skin, sending a violent shiver down my back.“You looked like you owned

TRACY"Ms. Sterling, over here! Just one question for the Global Medical Tribune!"Camera flashes popped like strobe lights, blinding my vision for a split second. Blinking away the bright spots, I offered a practiced, polite smile to the sea of reporters pressing against the velvet ropes. The grand ballroom of the Geneva Convention Center buzzed with electric energy. Crystal chandeliers cast a warm, golden glow over the post-conference reception. Waiters navigated the packed room, balancing silver trays of champagne and expensive appetizers."Ms. Sterling, how soon can Zach Enterprises deploy this software to local pack clinics?" a reporter shouted over the noise, thrusting a digital recorder toward my face."Deployment begins on the first of next month," I answered, keeping my voice steady and clear. "We are starting with the northern territories to run beta tests on the server load. Once we confirm the network stability, we will roll the software out globally within six weeks.""Wi

TRACY"Two minutes, Ms. Sterling."The stage manager whispered the warning, tapping a silver pen against his clipboard. Standing in the dark wings of the Geneva Convention Center, a suffocating wave of nervous energy crashed over my chest. Beyond the heavy black curtains, a low, buzzing hum echoed from the auditorium. Thousands of people were sitting out there.Taking a slow breath, I smoothed the lapels of my midnight-blue suit. My fingers trembled just a fraction."You are shaking."Sean stepped out of the shadows behind me. He didn't wear his usual packhouse combat boots. Dressed in a sharp charcoal suit, he looked like a king waiting to inspect his army."Just a little adrenaline," I murmured, offering him a tight smile. "The good kind.""They are going to love you." Reaching out, his warm hand cupped the side of my neck. His thumb brushed gently over my pulse point. The steady, grounding energy of the mate bond rushed into my veins, instantly calming the frantic rhythm of my hear

TRACY "Stop pulling at your cuffs, Tracy. You look perfect."Dropping my hands to my sides, a nervous breath escaped my lips. Sunlight poured through the massive glass windows of the Geneva penthouse, catching the dust motes dancing in the crisp morning air. Today was the day. The international medical summit officially started in two hours.Turning toward the full-length mirror leaning against the far wall, silence washed over me.Staring at my own reflection, my mind struggled to connect the woman in the glass with the memories in my head. A sharp, tailored midnight-blue suit clung to my frame. The jacket featured sharp lapels and structured shoulders, fitting like a modern suit of armor. Underneath, a crisp white silk blouse rested against my collarbone. This was not the wardrobe of a victim.Chandler always forced me to wear soft pastels. He liked pale pinks, quiet yellows, and flowing fabrics that made me look fragile. He wanted a decorative ghost haunting his estate.Tracing th

Morgan frowned the moment his gaze fell upon what I had ordered, his brows slowly knitting together as quiet disapproval settled into his expression. “Just vegetables?” he asked, his tone firm though not raised, carrying the natural authority he had always held. “There is barely any nourishment in

Tracy Xander’s POV After all these years, the man had not changed. He was still composed to the point of distance, dignified, restrained, and even more controlled than I remembered. Five years ago, when I visited my mother’s brother, Tim, within his quiet territory near the outskirts, I met a man

Tracy Xander’s POV Back at my desk, I set the documents down and carefully pulled out the bond dissolution agreement from the stack. My fingers lingered on the paper for a brief moment, as though grounding myself in the reality of what I had already set in motion. There was no need for devices or

  • Luna Redemption   Chapter One

Tracy Xander’s POV “Luna Xander, the results confirm Lunar Decay, and it has already spread through your body. Are you certain you do not wish to inform your family?” “It is not necessary,” I replied, my voice calm, almost detached, as though I were speaking about someone else’s fate instead of m
