ALPHA KANE POV I sat there staring at Savannah, thinking of what I could possibly say next. There was so much going through my head and so many questions that I couldn’t get them straight. It made no sense. Why would he let them leave if he wanted to kill them. They didn’t get his permission to leave. They are runaways. It is wrong for another pack to take in runaways from another Alpha, and that’s why she was so scared when she first got here. But it looks like she’s not holding back anymore. SAVANNAH POV I wasn’t sure what time mom was going to be home tonight. And I really didn’t want to see her when she did get here. I wanted to be anywhere but here. She broke the biggest promise to me that she has ever made. And on top of that, I have cuts on my face to prove it. I wasn’t going to forgive her for this. At least, I wasn’t going to make it easy for her. So when I finished eating that night I went to the hospital and used the spare keys to her car that I had and I got in it. I sent her a text message and told her that I was taking the car, because I’m not a complete bitch, and I left the hospital and drove straight off the pack territory. I know that it is stupid and reckless, but at times, I just don’t care about being stupid and reckless. Sometimes that’s the only thing that keeps me going. I sat there practically frozen in place as Alpha Kane stalked towards me. The murderous look in his eye had me scared for my life right now. He bent down and grabbed my bra and shirt and threw them at me. “Get dressed.” He growled. And he walked outside of the room but I could hear him in the hallway outside. He wasn’t leaving until I did. I got dressed as fast as I could and I got up and walked to the hallway where he grabbed my arm and he dragged me out of the clubhouse. By now, there was a crowd gathered outside the bar and they all backed off as soon as they saw the size of Alpha Kane and the look on his face. I tried to pull my arm free a couple of times, but he only gripped it tighter and he dragged me to the car and he opened the passenger door for me to get in. He then got in the driver’s seat and he sped out of there like a bat out of hell. I was surprised that he could see anything with that murderous look on his face. Almost like he was seeing red. I expected him to start walking back to the packhouse since it was our car that he was driving. He obviously wasn’t going to take it with him. But he was walking with me towards the house. I didn’t say anything to him, but I opened the front door and I heard my mother get up from the table and I stopped at the kitchen doorway. “Who the fuck do you think you are? Who told you that you can just take the car without asking me and make me walk home from the fucking hospital?” She yelled in my face. I went downstairs and I walked around for a little bit before I finally found the kitchen. I had never lived in a house this big before so it was strange walking around the packhouse like this. It was dead quiet and I am sure that I am the only one awake. There weren’t even any omega’s walking around in the kitchen or anything. Which I thought was strange. I thought there would be some here already making breakfast or something like that. I made myself a coffee and I found my way out the back door and I sat on the patio furniture to have my coffee while I was looking around at how quiet it was. Considering how big this pack was, I was expecting to see at least a few people walking around. But there was nothing. It was peaceful and I sat there staring off into the woods. Trying to keep my mind focused on more important things, other than my nightmare. ALPHA KANE POV I knew that Savannah wouldn’t have gone many places. She was stuck with Calvin for her whole life and while coming to my pack, they definitely wouldn’t have made a fun trip out of it. They would have tried to get to safety as soon as possible. When we got out of the car and I saw the look on Savannah’s face, I knew I was right. Her face lit up like it was Christmas morning for a little kid. She’d never been to New Orleans before. And there was so much stuff to do in this city, I was determined to give her new fantastic memories to try and replace the old ones that she can’t stop having nightmares about. “Come on. ALPHA KANE POV The next place we went to was a shop owned by a witch. A real life witch and Savannah told me that she could feel the power coming from the shop before we even got there. That’s how we knew that it was real. It didn’t stop us from going inside though. And Savannah messed with the shop owner, just as much as last time. The witch looked scared and worried and watched us so closely while we were in there. But she was mostly watching Savannah for some reason. I looked over and I saw Savannah looking at some necklaces hanging on the side wall. She wasn’t moving or smiling or anything. She was just staring at the necklace and the witch was watching her just as intently. I walked over to Savannah and I placed my hand on her arm.
