CHAPTER 10

SAVANNAH’S POV

I woke up to the sun shining in the windows of the car and my phone was vibrating in my pocket. I felt my cheek and it was still really sore and tender. It hurt to touch. The claw marks were definitely still there. It didn’t feel like they had started healing at all.

ASHER - Hey, are we jogging this morning or not?

ME - No. Not this morning. Not up for it. Won’t be at school either.

ASHER - Is everything alright?

ME - Just not feeling well. I’ll talk to you later.

I sat up and I got in the driver’s seat and I went home. I pulled up outside the house and stared at the house before I got out of the car and I went inside.

I saw my mother sitting at the kitchen table but I ignored her and I went upstairs to my bedroom and I slammed the door and locked it. Making sure that she got the hint not to talk to me.

I heard her leave for work a little while later so I came out of my room and I went to the bathroom and I had a shower. When I got out of the shower I looke
