Amalthea's POV
"Well hello there little Aria," I smiled down at the grinning girl at the foot of my bed."Do you want to read with me?" I asked as I pointed at the pregnancy book I had been reading.Aria kept on grinding as though she was shy and when she didn't make any move to leave, I raised her and placed her beside me on the bed. As I scanned the book, I was both thrilled and terrified by the changes my body would experience all through this pregnancy."Baby," the girl giggled as she pointed at a picture of a new born baby in the book. Nausea clawed at me as I recalled the vivid pictures on how the baby would come out of my womb and I was beyond appalled, I wasn't so sure I could do this after all."Where's your mum?" I asked Aria softly."In the kitchen preparing your broth," she informed me before she leaped off the bed and ran out. Aria was an unusual yet sweet little girl, Clara was lucky to have her and I couldn't help butAmalthea's POV "I told you they weren't to be trusted Thea, I warned you." Lux growled within me and I let out a sigh."How was I meant to know Lux? We needed a place to stay, shelter over our heads." I retorted but she growled at me. Lux was angry and didn't want to listen anything I had to say even though I had admitted she had been right.I was still rattled by Clara's words an I didn't know exactly what to make of it, all I knew was that I was scared out of my mind and I had to take Clara's advice and leave as soon as I possibly could."I'm going out for a run, lux has been itching to be let out all day." I informed Clara as I passed by the kitchen. Out eyes met and held but all she gave me was a nod before I turned and made my way out of the pack house. I was unsure how to act around Clara nowz knowing what she had told me, knowing they were probably making plans to hurt me but everything was still vague and unclear. Was alpha Hunter handing

Nicholson's POV "What is the meaning of this?" I growled as I glared at the council members standing before me."You have been out of line for far too long Alpha," one of them told me and anger coursed through me."What do you mean?" I curled a brow at them and they looked among themselves almost as if they were deciding who would be the sacrificial lamb."What we are trying to say is that you've neglected this pack for the last few weeks, people are beginning to ask questions they want to know what's going on with their alpha and those who live in the pack house along with the servants are talking," the oldest among them said."You have been a mess and quite frankly it's disgraceful to see an alpha act this way over a woman, his breeder at that-" the man continued and before I could reign Dax in, he broke free and took over and in the second I had the man by his neck.I heard the muffled gasps from the other members of the coun
Callum's POV "Why do you look pale?" I asked and Mikayla turned to me, startled."Were you spying on me?" Mikayla questioned as she placed her phone into her pocket."That seemed like an important call," I noted."What did you hear?" Her eyes shone with fear before she could mask it and I knew I was on to something."Was it something I wasn't meant to hear?" I quirked a brow."It was nothing Callum," she sighed as she tried to play it cool but I could see her calculating eyes trying to decipher just how much I had heard."What are you doing here?" She asked as I closed the library door behind me."Do I need special permission to visit the library?" I quirked a brow at her and she looked away from me."You never come in here Callum, unless you want to talk, so what is it you want to talk about?" She inquired and my fists clenched at how cold her demeanor was.How had I missed it? The cold, calc
Amalthea's POV "The soup helps with the nausea, you'll feel better." Clara assured me and I nodded as I took another spoonful of the chicken broth."I want to go out today," I announced and Clara stared at me wearily."Are you sure that's wise?" She inquired."I'm tired of being cooped up here, I'm in a new pack and the least I can do is explore it." I explained."You need as much rest as you can get Thea, trust me I know what I'm talking about." Clara looked at me pointedly."I've spent the whole week resting and I'm good, apart from the nausea I'm perfectly fine. Besides, you promised to give me a tour of the pack," I reminded her and she nodded."Fine but we're driving not walking," she stated."That's fine," I raised my hands in surrender. "I'll go prepare the car," Clara announced."Clara?" I called out to her and she turned back to me."Can I ask you for a favour?" I questioned as I
Alpha Hunter's POV "She's what?" My voice boomed loudly in the room as my heart beat loudly in my chest."I just found out about it last night, she has been heaving all day." Clara explained. This was bad, this was horrible... Amalthea couldn't be pregnant, that would ruin everything. Her blood would be tainted and not as powerful as it should be during the sacrifice."Go easy on her alpha, she's really...fragile right now." Clara hesitantly advised and my dark gaze turned to her."What are you trying to say?" I asked as I curled a brow and she cowered."Nothing alpha," she bowed her head in submission. If I had no use for her I would have already ripped out her heart but she was still useful to me.I tore my gaze away from her and made my way to Amalthea's room. I couldn't believe how luck had shone on me. After all my planning and scheming, she fell right into my palm all on her own. Everything was going smoothly and
