Amalthea's POV
The heavy metallic doors creaked open and my heart beat loudly in my chest as the guards escorted me and I stared at the daunting figure sitting on top a throne, the man had sleek hair which was neatly pulled back behind his head, brown eyes and a scar running along his face."Amalthea," he smirked at me as he rose from his throne and approached me. I fidgeted on my spot as I was unsure what to do as he approached."I'm Alpha Hunter Landseer," he introduced himself and held out a hand to me."How do you know my name?" I asked as I wearily stared at his hand without taking it."Clara," he shrugged in explanation and I slowly nodded before I took his hand."How are you feeling?" He asked as his eyes assessed me."Better," I muttered. It had been three days since I had been brought to the thornhide pack and Lux had rapidly worked to heal me so apart from a few aching bones, I was mostly alright."I'm glaAmalthea's POV "It's alright, you are good, I've got you." Clara tried to soothe me as I continued to heave into the toilet. This had been going on for three days now and at the slightest smell I couldn't keep any food in.I rose to wash my face for the tenth time today and Clara stared at me wearily but I ignored her as I made my way back to my bed."Have you considered taking a pregnancy test?" Clara suddenly blurted out and my eyes snapped to hers. In all honesty I hadn't considered it and a prickling awareness rushed through me as I considered her words."I couldn't possibly be..." I muttered more to myself than to her and Clara cocked a brow at me."You haven't honestly considered it?" She inquired and I slowly shook my head."Would you like me to get the tests for you?" She asked and I nodded mutely as I swallowed. What if I was actually pregnant for Nicholson? Then what?Without another word Clara left and a
Nicholson's POV I stared at the amber liquid in my glass before I took a sip of my scotch, finishing off the glass in one gulp. I groaned as I rose from my chair and approached my wine cabinet as my door swung open."Nic?" Mikayla called out to me."What?" I growled lowly. She stared at me with a blank expression on her face for a second before she sighed and walked towards me."What are you doing here?" I asked her as I turned back to retrieve another bottle of wine."I'm here to get you out of whatever slump you are in," she told me as she took the bottle away from me and my eyes snapped up at her."I'm not in the mood Mikayla, give me the damn bottle." I gritted out."No," she announced and my nostrils flared."What exactly is it that you want?" I roared but she didn't even flinch."You need to pull yourself together, Nic. Thea is gone, we get that and we all miss her but we have to move on

Nicholson's POV "The great Nicholson, who would have ever thought I'd see the day?" The rogue King smirked at me as he rose from his throne but I remained silent as he approached."To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" He inquired."You have answers that I need," I said simply and the man chuckled. He looked at the rogues surrounding us and they joined in on the laugh but I didn't care. I folded my hands in front of my chest and waited for him to finish."Are you done?" I questioned when they all quieted down and his eyes darkened as he stared at me."You would be wise to remember you are in my pack, surrounded by my wolves Alpha and I won't hesitate to rip you apart if you utter the wrong words," the rogue threatened me and my lips twitched. So this was about him exerting power and showing who was in charge. It didn't matter that I was in his pack and surrounded by his wolves, if I wanted to rip his heart out of his chest right i
Amalthea's POV I coughed and gasped for air, I struggled to peer my eyes open but they remained tightly shut."Here, have this." A voice called out to me before a cold metal was placed against my lips and I greedily gulped down the cool water which washed down my throat."Easy," the woman's soft voice called out to me as I tried to move but pain seared through me.My eyes slowly opened and I stared up at a middle aged woman who was peering down at me."Are you alright?" She asked as I swallowed."Where am I?" I asked as I looked around the room but nothing seemed familiar."Do you remember anything? What's your name?" The woman asked me instead and I scanned my mind. It all came rushing back to me, Nic, the rogues...the cliff. How was I possibly alive?I gasped as I bolted off the bed but immediately collapsed as my body gave out from under me."You need to rest, you've been in bed for two whole days," the woman
Nicholson's POV "Alpha, alpha..." The man's hands clawed at mine but I didn't relent."You saw her pass through the botders and you didn't question her or deem it important to tell me?" I boomed as my hand around his neck tightened. The man was turning red and the veins in his face were popping out but I didn't care, I would make him suffer and pay for letting Thea cross these borders without informing me first."Nic that's enough, we are already short of border officers because of the werebears as it is. You can't kill one of your own men," Callum called out to me as he gripped my shoulder and I growled as I knew he was right. I shoved the man away from me and he landed on the floor, holding onto his neck as he tried to gulp in as much air as possible."All of you are disappointments, I thought we trained you to be good at yojr jobs not to let just anyone waltz in and out of this pack as they please." I roared as I stared at each border officer
