Jade's POV
"She's been very secretive about it, she won't even tell me." I told Callum in a hushed tone."What could it be?" He asked as he closed the book in front of him."I don't know but she kept on saying whatever it was, was bad enough to make Nic hate her...forever." I revealed as the door creaked a little and my lips twitched. Callum must have heard it as well as he stared at me with eyes glinting with mischief."But why would she tell you that and then expect you not to prob?" Callum asked as he feigned a frown."I have no idea, I don't know what Thea was thinking but if it's as bad as she claimed it was, I hope she can keep a secret of that magnitude safe. The last thing I want is for things to get worse between her and Nic," I explained as I desperately tried to suppress my smile."Enough about Thea and Nic," Callum said as he walked towards the door of the library and I followed suit."I can't wait to get my handAmalthea's pov"Well..." Jade began as she closed the door and smiled knowingly at me."Well..." I retorted as I turned away from her, desperately trying to hide the blush that was creeping up my cheeks."Did I interrupt something?" She arched a brow at me as she plopped onto my bed."Of course not," I replied too quickly and cringed as I knew Jade would definitely pick up on that.I marvelled at how easily my body came alive whenever Nic was close to me, even now my body still hummed in awareness of him and the close proximity which we stood a few minutes ago."Earth to Amalthea," Jade called out to me and I wiped off the sick smile on my face before I turned back to her. She stared at me quizzically before realization dawned on her after a moment."You are in love with Nic aren't you?" She asked with wide eyes and my heart dropped."What we should be talking about is how I can speak to that woman before Nic does anything to her." I replied, trying to change the topic. Jade stared a
Nicholson's POV Rage surged through me as I paced in my office."Nic, you need to calm down," Callum called out to me but I ignored him."This isn't the time to let your emotions get the better of you." Cal said."My emotions are well under control," I growled as I glared at him."Would have fooled me." He muttered as he rolled his eyes but I ignored him."So what are you going to do now?" Callum asked after a moment."About what?" I arched a brow in irritation as I turned to him."The woman." He looked at me quizzically."She's going to burn...at the stakes obviously." I said with faux calm as Callum assessed me."Thea wants to talk to her." He said after a moment."Absolutely not." I growled."She wants to know why the woman-" Callum began."I said no, Thea is going nowhere near that woman's cell and if she does you'll answer to me," I threatened as rage surged through me."Jade is already taking her there right now," Callum muttered and my nostrils flared as I brushed past him and
Jade's POV "Slow down Jade, what is going on?" Thea asked as she struggled to maintain my pace."Nothing, I just remembered I have something important I need to do." I said flimsily although I knew she wouldn't buy it. She remained silent as we finally reached the pack house."Where are you?" I asked Callum through the mind link."In Thea's room. Come with Nic, I think he might want to see this." He replied."Nic, I think there's something you need to see." I called out to Nicholson who was walking a few steps behind us."Is something wrong?" He questioned."Just come." I called over my shoulder as I bounded up the stairs. My heart hammered loudly in my chest and I prayed and hoped with everything within me that Callum found something incriminating on Mikayla.I barged into Thea's room and stopped in my tracks when I saw a woman with her two hands bound together with ropes while Callum sat a few feet away from her."What the hell is going on?" Thea asked as she stepped into the room.
Jade's POV "Why are we going on a picnic all of a sudden?" Thea questioned as I dragged her out of the pack house."Because we need some fresh air and quite honestly, we need to rekindle our bond." I informed her as I held onto her hand in one arm and the food basket in another."No one goes for a picnic this late in the evening Jade, it's going to be dark before we even get there." Thea protested."Don't worry about that, all I need you to think about is what a fun time we'll have." I flashed her a smile as I mindlinked Callum to inform him I had left with Thea."Is there a reason I wasn't invited to this picnic?" Mikayla asked as she appeared in front of us."It's a special picnic." I replied smugly."Ouch Jade, I thought I was part of the party. I mean if Nic could secure an invite why not me?" She asked dramatically as I carefully assessed her.Did she know?"Nic is coming?" Thea asked me and I cringed. I had to get everyone of importance out of the pack house in order to give Mi

Amalthea's POV I gulped the cold water greedily, eager to quench the thirst within me. Sweat trickled down my back as I had just finished training and my whole body ached all over. I rinsed the glass I had just finished drinking from and turned to leave the kitchen, ignoring the stares I was getting from the servants.I made my way towards my room as my eyes dropped drowsily and all I wanted to do was collapse into my bed."I'm suprised she has lasted this long in the pack." I heard the distant voices from the sitting room and curiousity gnawed at me."It's so obvious all she wanted was to get close to Alpha Nicholson," another said right before they walked out of the room. They were servants and I guess it was typical for them to gossip but something about their words pricked at me.Were they talking about me?Their eyes landed on me and they giggled as they strolled away, confirming my suspicions."Cheap whore," one of the muttered, no doubt intending for me to hear. My wolf growle
