Chapter 10
Aiden’s grip on me tightened before he suddenly let go, stepping forward. His body trembled, his muscles shifting, and then—his eyes. They weren’t their usual sharp blue anymore. They burned silver, glowing under the moonlight like molten metal. Beside him, Ryan was doing the same. His transformation was just as fluid, his eyes gleaming a dangerous, electric blue. Then, in a blur of movement, their bodies morphed. Bones cracked, limbs elongated, and fur sprouted in place of skin. In mere seconds, where my two best friends once stood, now stood two massive wolves—Aiden’s coat, silver as the moon, Ryan’s a striking blend of brown and gray. They were breathtaking, yet utterly terrifying. The rogues lunged forward at once, snarling, their teeth bared. Aiden let out a deep, bone-chilling growl, stepping in front of me protectively. Ryan did the same for Ariana, his massive frame shielding her as she stood frozen in place. I could feel my pulse hammering in my throat. The rogues were circling now, waiting for the right moment to strike. My fingers curled into fists at my sides. I was useless here. Powerless. And I hated it. Then—just as the first rogue pounced—another growl echoed through the trees. This one was louder. Fiercer. It was followed by the sound of rapid footsteps, leaves crunching under heavy paws. And then, they arrived. A blur of dark figures rushed into the clearing—more wolves, larger and more powerful than the rogues. At the forefront was a wolf so massive, so commanding, that even the rogues hesitated for a split second. His fur was sleek black, his presence radiating pure authority. Alpha Caden. He must have heard his son's howl, my heart leaped for joy. The rogues barely had time to react before the new wolves crashed into them with brutal force. Snarls and howls filled the air as bodies slammed against trees, fangs clashed, and blood splattered onto the forest floor. Aiden and Ryan wasted no time. They leaped into the fight, their massive forms tearing into the rogues with ruthless precision. It was chaos. A deadly, violent blur of movement as the battle unfolded right in front of me. I could do nothing but stand there, my heart pounding, as I watched the fight rage on. In the minutes, the rogues were all lying helpless, slashed in cold blood. Ariana and I turned at once as Ryan and Aiden turned back to their human form as some warriors gave them a clothing to change into woke the others packed the rogues dead body. Alpha Caden and some others remained in their wolf form. " You two, to the pack house now!" He growled but neither Ryan nor Aiden moved. I could see his eyes twitching. "Did you.." Aiden spoke up first. "Take them home" He said to Ryan who nodded immediately. He looked at me then looked away without saying a word, then walked away with Alpha Caden. Ryan turned to us, his expression filled with worry. "Are you okay?" He asked and I nodded while Ariana hissed. "Please just take us home" she muttered. **** "You okay?" Ryan asked as he finally tucked me to bed, he insisted. "Yeah" I muttered with a yawn. "I'm tired" I added, feeling drowsy. His hand went up to my forehead, feeling my temperature. My brows raised "I'm fine" I said, taking his hands off. "Yeah, just checking for a cold" he said in a mutter, pulling away from me. "Go to sleep" He added. I raised my brows further, sitting up on the bed. "Is this about Aiden?" I asked and his forehead smoothed. "No" He lied. "Hmm, you care to tell me what happened between you two? Was it after you dropped me off at home this afternoon or was it inside the car through some mind link or what? What did you two argue about?" I demanded an answer. "Nothing" Ryan said, looking away. I got up at once, grabbed his shirt, pulled him to me and looked at him eye-to-eye. "Tell me now, Ryan. Don't get me mad." I snapped. "What did you two argue about?" I asked, again. "You" He responded sharply, my brows furrowed and I slowly released my grip on the collar of his shirt. He straightened his shirt, as I slowly sat on the bed. "Why?" I asked, looking back up at him. He cleared his throat. "Well, nothing serious." He said, grabbing his sling bag from across the room. "Now, go to sleep. I'll pick you up tomorrow, sleep tight" He said, before twisting the door open and walking out at once. My brows dipped further in confusion but I decided to brush it off. Won't be the first time they argued over me anyways, Ryan was all carefree while Aiden was always careful, and that sure caused fights between them most times, as Aiden most of the time thinks Ryan was never careful with me and I was too weak to be engaging in his 'reckless activities' such being drinking, lol, so it was probably nothing. My eyes suddenly caught the little dim light blinks coming from my laptop, I must have forgotten to turn it off. I got up on my feet and walked over to the laptop, oh, I have unfinished work. I let out a frustrated sigh, raking my fingers through my hair as I sat on the chair and opened my laptop. I needed to finish my unfinished drafts. So, I got to work immediately and began typing on, and on, till day break. I didn't know how long I had been writing till I heard movements out in the hallway. That must be my mom preparing for the morning. "Shit, how long did I stay up for?" I let out a mutter, stretching my hands with a yawn. I moved my laptop to the side, lazily and drowsily got up my feet and slumped to the bed, I didn't bother checking what time it was, all I knew was I had to sleep or I would break so I did, I shut my eyes and sleep washed over me immediately.Chapter 30*Arielle's Pov*"Goodnight" Ryan bade as he got into his car. "Goodnight" I smiled. I stood, watching him leave before heading into my room."Let me out!" I yelled in my head. A smile voluntarily played on my lips. "Fine" My wolf said and my eyes widened. What? 'fine' how do we switch?"Hi" I said to no one in particular and my voice came out. My eyes widened. Oh my god, I'm back, I have control now. How was that possible? My wolf was barely a day old and she could block me out? Did things work like that.I sat on the bed, leaning further to the headboard. "Hi.." I said in my head. I got no response. "Do you not like me, Wolfie?" I asked. I had so many questions I wanted to ask her.Why did she refuse to show up all these while, why she came then left that day, why she chose to appear today, and would she leave again?I had so many things to ask, and so I did, in my head. But she chose to reply to just one."My name is Arya" My wolf responded. Nevertheless, I was excited. I
Chapter 29*Arielle's Pov*My eyes widened, and so did everyone's in the room. Aiden grabbed me in one swift motion, then grabbed Ariana and into the pack house at once.Everyone backed away as Aiden's silver wolf walked in, with two werewolves on him.Alpha Caden sped in after us, with Beta Harry behind him."Aiden!" Alpha Caden growled.Aiden turned in one swift motion. "Have them treat her or I'll destroy every fucking thing in this house!" He threatened.Alpha Caden's eyes glowed red but instead of retreating, Aiden stood still.Luna Marylin ran in. "Have them treat her, please, she's dying" She pleaded.Alpha Caden turned to one of the warriors who had surrounded Aiden and were now at alert. "Get a doctor. Aiden, drop her!" He growled and Aiden did. He dropped Ariana. A doctor rushed in immediately and Ariana was carried away in a stretcher."Her too.." Alpha Caden growled but instead Aiden growled. "She's mine!" He said."I'm not!" I snapped. "Drop me!" I said, kicking his sides
Chapter 28"Beta Harry!" Allytis growled, taking control. He made to charge at him but a hand suddenly held me back, and Allytis returned control to me immediately, as he whimpered, hurt, and in.. fear.I felt his cries. I turned and it was dad."Dad, what the hell are you doing to her?! You're hurting her!!" I growled.Beta Harry's smirk on his face grew. "Do you feel this, Aiden?" He asked, his fingers digging deeper into her skin."Dad.." I tried to call but he only shouted, "Do you?!" His voice thundered. Allytis whimpered, I stilled, confused."N..no" My voice came out low."Do you?" Beta Harry growled! Dad forced my head with his other hand, the other still pulling my hands behind me. He tilted my head up at the scene."Do you feel her, in pain?" He asked."N..no.." I mumbled."Do you?!" Beta Harry raised his voice, his nails digging deeper. At the corner of my eyes, I saw Arielle's eyes twitching as she watched her sister's lifeless body."No!" I growled. "Leave her alone!" Al
Chapter 27Everyone turned to me immediately. "Huh? No. No. I didn't feel anything, he.. um.. just thought I was Ariana and.." I looked away..Beta Harry's voice slices through the silence. "Enough of all this, if Ryan is right, or you, Laura. What do we do to test it out? If that boy keeps losing control and hurts my daughter, I won't take it easy, Caden, I mean it." He said, sternly.Alpha Caden cleared his throat and only looked at Ryan with a raised brow. "What?" Ryan shrugged. "What do we do, Ryan?" He asked.Ryan stayed still, in thoughts. A smile suddenly played on his face. "I have an idea" He said, and everyone's face relaxed."But.. it's a bit.. too much, and some people might not be in support" He said."Then we leave them here!" Beta Harry growled."Arielle?" Ryan turned to me, and my face shot up. "What?""Will you stay here?" He asked softly."What? No! I want in!" I snapped."This idea might hurt Ariana" He said and my face squinted, and I looked away."Then she stays"
Chapter 26It's been an hour since the chaos Aiden - Laura caused.Laura was still in the infirmary, her Dad- Beta Harry and his mate, present.Ryan and I were also present. Ryan's present since he saved and I, as a witness.Alpha Caden and Luna Marylin were also present to watch the chaos their son had caused.Beta Harry's eyes were glowing, as he stared at her daughter's unmoving body. His mate rubs his hand slowly to calm his angry wolf down. Luna Marylin stared in horror, at what her son had done- almost killing a werewolf. She attacked Ariana first. I had defended but Ryan had shut me off with a warning look while Beta Harry's angry eyes fell on me, making me squirm."And where were you when all these were happening?" Beta Harry suddenly turned to Ryan. Ryan's face shot up. "The principal had called. And based on what I heard she attacked his mate till the point she passed out. No werewolf would watch his mate treated like that. You have your mate right beside you, I think you'l
Chapter 25I chuckled, then scoffed as I looked away. A smile played on my lips and I looked back at him. He was also smiling."Are you teasing me?" I asked, with a chuckle."I'm not.. you said you were over him" He said with a shrug, his grin widening. I burst into a laugh, looking away while he drove off.And just like that, in days, I was able to laugh my predicament off. All thanks to Ryan.We arrived at school, and thankfully, we weren't late."I need to go see the principal" Ryan said as we stopped at my locker. "I'll be back soon" He muttered and I nodded and waved him goodbye.I sighed, opening my locker to bring out my books. As I brought them out, and slammed them close, I gasped, my heart almost flying out of my chest.Lauren, her arms folded, her eyes, glaring at me."H..hi" I stuttered on my words, pulling my books to my chest in fear. She rolled her eyes. "It's the other one" She muttered."Hi.. wh..what do you want?" I cleared my throat. I wasn't scared of her, just int
