My breath hitched. Ryan's brows flew up, and so did Annie's.

"No." Her voice came out commanding and sharp. "If you're here for that, you better leave Draven" Her once soft and stuttering voice now came out clearer and sharper, every inch of nervousness she had in her gone.

Alpha Draven's eyes glanced at her lazily before turning back to me, then Ryan.

"Chosen mates aren't a bad thing in Senhla Pack, you know that right?" He asked him. Ryan only dug into his steak, ignoring him.

"Right?" Alpha Draven's low commanding tone came out, shooking the table. My eyes widened. Ryan sighed, then finally looked up.

"Yes." He said, raising his head to his dad.

Alpha Draven smiled, forcedly and it disappeared as quickly as it appeared. "Good." He said, leaning back against his chair.

"Draven, why are you asking him..."

"I want you to choose a mate." Alpha Draven said, cutting his mate off and ignoring her. Everyone's eyes widened.

"Dad. I have a mate." Ryan said, his nostrils flared up.
