Chapter 5. The Tribrid (Werewolf, Vampire, and Fairy)

GRACE P.O. V

I screamed loudly when Sophia threw a pointed iron and hit my thigh. My body was on fire, and it hurt like hell when the sunlight hit me. Sophia wasn't concerned about my howls of pain. Instead, she pointed the torch at me with a wary gaze.

“The sunlight will not destroy your body. Your fairy power and endurance will serve as armor. However, if you choose to become a vampire, then the sunlight will scorch your body.” Sophia brought the fire torch closer to me. I moved back for fear that the fire would burn my body. She didn't seem to be messing around with her words, and that wary look made me sure that tribrid power was indeed dangerous.

My vision blurred more and more. My ears couldn't catch her words because my hearing was buzzing, like there were many voices talking inside my head. I could not control my body properly because the damn sunlight was ruining my body's performance.

I would rather not end up like a vampire. Likewise, I want to live a normal life and take care of my triplets with love. Sophia didn't seem like she would help me, so I tried to gather my strength. I tried to summon Maria, my wolf. She was the only one I hoped would come back to me because right now, I really needed her strength. However, she did not return. There was no sign of Maria's arrival.

I thought this was the end of my life before a cloth covered my entire body. I burst into tears as I felt the effects of the sun's rays, which made my whole body ache. Not only that, but I was breathing heavily, like I had run a thousand-kilometer marathon.

Sophia pulled the cloth protecting my body, making me scream loudly. My body hastened to the corner of the room and tried to take shelter from the painful sunlight. I cowered in fear when I saw the many red-colored rashes on my white skin.

I breathed a sigh of relief as she closed all the windows and pulled the curtains so that the sunlight wouldn't enter her house. Sophia didn't speak; she gently pulled my arm and helped me up. I didn't refuse her help because I didn't have the strength to fight her. Sophia made me sit on the wooden chair located in the center of her living room.

My eyes followed Sophia's movements as she picked up a bottle and a book from the wooden cupboard. Then she sat down on the chair in front of me while placing the glass bottle filled with a strange liquid on the table. She uncapped the bottle, poured the contents into the palm of her hand, and then applied the thick, white liquid to her injured neck. We stared at each other for a moment, then she placed both hands on a white crystal ball.

There were many things I wanted to ask her. However, Sophia seemed to be busy saying sentences I didn't understand, and her hands were making circular motions on the surface of the crystal ball. I shuddered in horror as I felt the surrounding aura change and feel hot on my skin. This was strange, as I was a warm-blooded werewolf. I should have been able to survive, but now my body was sweating profusely, making my clothes wet.

“Miss Grace, now do you believe what I'm saying?” She opened a book with a black cover while staring at me from under her hood.

I took a quick breath as I nodded stiffly. “Is there any way for me not to become a vampire?” Tears flowed from my eyes. I sobbed softly while hugging my stomach tightly. Becoming a vampire was not what I wanted because I would rather not be a creature without feelings. “I want my heart to keep beating, my tongue to taste delicious food, and my body to be unaffected by sunlight. Help me, Sophia. I would rather not be a blood-sucking creature,” I said with a pleading tone, gazing at her.

“There is only one way to seal your vampire power, and that is to use the power of the fairy inside your body,” Sophia said in a tone that sounded unsure to my ears. She pointed the open page of the book at me. “Miss Grace, this is the only way I know. If you agree, then do it immediately. You must decide your destiny now!”

I took a deep breath as I read the sentence about how to seal a vampire's power. My gaze fell on the large mirror attached to the wooden wall of Sophia's living room. I walked over to the glass and stood with a straight posture. My heart raced as I prepared to suppress my vampire powers.

I was afraid of losing control and turning myself into an uncontrollable monster. However, there was also a sense of sadness and alienation within me, as I knew that after this, there would be no more normal life.

I felt a great power flowing through my veins. The hot liquid spread throughout my body and ended up making my heartbeat slow down. I saw four long canine teeth growing out, and their tips pointed like blades.

A sigh escaped my lips as I gathered all the courage within me. Instantly, my figure, which was previously like a normal human, now turned into a vampire, as depicted in the legend. I was a frightening figure in the vampire version, tall with a black dress, long black hair, red eyes, horns, and pale skin.

In the vampire version, I felt sad and lonely because there was no one who could stop me and restore my life to normal. However, I felt unparalleled pleasure from my newfound power.

“Miss Grace, your vampire figure is so beautiful. Are you sure you want to seal this power of yours?” Sophia stood behind me while cupping her hands on her chest. Her dark eyes looked at me with teary eyes.

“Yes, I will seal my vampire power. Stay away from me, Sophia. I'm not certain I can withstand this power without hurting you.” I let out a long breath as I prepared myself to seal away the powerful and dangerous vampire power by using the fairy power I had. It's not a simple thing, but I'm sure I can do it.

I lifted my right hand up and felt the fairy energy flowing, then it appeared to form a pastel-colored wind circle. I took a step back, bringing my right hand close to my chest on the left.

Furthermore, I felt the pressure of the vampire power as the fairy power began to surround it. The vampire power inside my body was forceful, so I had to be careful not to press too hard so as not to brutalize it.

My eyes were tightly closed as I placed my two hands infused with fairy power on top of the vampire power. I began to apply gentle downward pressure. Fairy power flowed into my body and began to erase the vampire power nourishing my veins.

However, I suddenly felt resistance from the vampire power that was trying to counter the fairy power I was exuding. I suppressed the vampire power a little harder and made sure that the dark power didn't take over me.

As the fairy power suppressed the vampire's power, I felt like there were hundreds of hot irons stabbing all over my body. I pulled the vampire power that was inside my body out with very slow movements. Immediately, I felt a tremendous burst of light, like a ray of sunlight, hitting my body hard.

I screamed at the top of my lungs as I felt an excruciating pain in my chest and tried hard to seal away the vampire's power rapidly. However, the more I tried, the more pain I felt. Every bone and muscle in my body was working to the max to seal away the vampire's power. All of this pain was shaking my body, so I could have died right now.

During the fight with the vampire power, I felt like something trapped me inside a room that was dark and full of pressure on every side. My body felt exhausted and could barely hold on any longer. Despite that, I didn't give up. I kept trying hard to control the vampire power that was full of negative energy.

As the vampire power almost escaped the seal I created, I saw a visualization of my parents' very dark past. I screamed loudly as my blood pulse slowed. Perhaps I was on the verge of collapse, but I still tried to maintain my consciousness. My fairy power did not allow that filthy vampire energy to control me.

With the last bit of strength I had left, I pushed the vampire power into the prison I had prepared. There was a powerful burst of energy as the vampire's power was successfully sealed into the prison of light made of my fairy power. Cold sweat covered my entire body, and my heart raced at the sight of the three supernatural powers standing side by side around me.

Finally, I managed to defend my human instincts from the vampire's power and protect myself from the dirty energy that was trying to take over my body.

The atmosphere was twice as quiet in Sophia's house after I successfully completed the sealing.

“Miss Grace, you…” Sophia covered her mouth with both palms. Her head shook slowly, and it clearly drew a look of fear in her eyes.

I am enveloped with three of the strongest creature powers on earth, making anyone afraid just by looking at my different eye colors. With lightning speed, I was standing in front of her. I laughed as Sophia walked backward, but my hands easily choked on her neck.

“Don't kill me, Miss.” Sophia's mouth opened, and her eyes rolled upward as I tightened my grip on her neck. Her white skin began to turn blue and felt cold against my palm.

“Listen carefully to my words, Sophia. If you divulge my identity as a tribrid, I will instantly kill you in a way you will never imagine,” I said in a stern tone as I stared intensely into her eyes. I deliberately brought out my dark aura to pressure her and give her an ultimatum without having to do much arguing.

I cannot let this person leak my identity. No one should know my identity as the only tribrid living in this world. If this person reveals my tribrid identity, I fear execution.

Sophia swallowed the saliva in her throat in slow motion. “No, I won't tell anyone your true identity. I swear, Miss Grace,” she spoke in a very low tone, and her voice trembled in my ears.

I couldn't fully trust her words because I could sense the wary attitude of her figure. She could have betrayed her promise like my ex-mate did.

Only one thing ruled my mind: worry. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep my triplets' true identities. I was also afraid that the threats I made would come back to bite me in the future.
