I went with Eve, who helped me tend to my wounds before showering. I was nervous about talking to Brax about what I had just learned. But I knew I had to find out the truth about him. With my strong feelings for him, I need to learn more about him before I fall harder and possibly end up hurt.

Making my way back into the dining room to find Eve waiting for me; she led me down to his office, opening the door for me to go inside. I stood there for a second; a part of me wished she could come with me. Taking a deep breath, I go in. Braxs is standing on the other side of his desk; the first thing I notice is the book from the library, the one that had drawn me to it. Standing there staring at it, I can tell he knows I'm confused about why he has that book. Before either of us speak, he places the book on the table, pushing it towards me. I look at him with confusion before reaching out and taking the book from the table, running my hand over the front cover.

"that book is about your pack"
