Chapter 22: Tree Towers

Across the kingdom.

Under the heat of the rising sun, General Wolf rode into the Eastern Post. His imposing figure on top of Beast drew blatant stares.

The general, though fearsome, is a presence akin to salvation and relief in a battlefield. Him, arriving at this time of unrest brought a sense of security to the affected villagers.

Whispers began to spread of Wulfric's arrival as soldiers met him. In the forefront is Keith, who was bent on one knee with his head bowed in respect; looking exhausted, clearly from an eventful night of chasing enemies.

Reigning Beast to a stop, Wulfric got off and handed the reigns to a waiting stable boy. Then immediately demanded from Keith the situation.

"Tell me."

"The remaining villagers had all been accounted for and those slain were prepared for burial. Unfortunately, we lost a few warriors, two of them were shadow messengers."
