ALISHA’S POV

“I want to apologize to you, Alisha.”

I blinked.

And blinked again.

Then noticing how taken aback I was, Lucien took a step closer towards me.

“I’m sorry, Alisha.”

He stretched his arms towards me and took my hands in his, immediately giving it a light squeeze. I almost flinched in response but I remained calm, slowly raising my head to look at him as he apologized.

“I’m really sorry, Alisha.”

I definitely didn’t see the apology coming. Having spent days without talking to each other, I’d concluded he had allowed his ego get the best of him and he was never going to either speak or apologize to me. But there he was, head hung low, sincerity filled in his voice as he apologized to me.

“I shouldn’t have flared up like that,” he continued. “I know you were just looking out for me but I got emotional and messed things up. I’m sorry, Alisha.”

A sigh escaped from my lips as I stared at him, taken aback by his sudden gesture. I couldn’t deny though, I felt moved, a part of me
