My face was on fire as I groaned beneath the incredulous stares of everyone except Sheila. If I could, I would cover my face in shame and pretend none of this ever happened.
It wasn't supposed to be like this. I had a plan for meeting and negotiating terms with Maverick, but now it was ruined. Nothing had turned out like I had planned.
