Chapter 10

“Sienna? Are you okay?” He leaned toward me, helping me up.

“I’m fine,” I stammered.

He took me in his arms and started up the stairs until we reached the attic. He gently laid me on the bed before lighting the fireplace and grabbing a tray that he must have left in the room when he came to get me.

“Thank you,” I murmured, welcoming her.

The smell of the soup filled my nostrils. I could make out each of the ingredients, which left me confused.

Now that everything was over, I was beginning to regret my actions.

Liar, you know well you enjoyed it.

Of course I enjoyed it, I gave it what it deserved after so many years of rudeness.

So why aren’t you happy?

Hunter is upset with me, I must apologize to him.

“I’m sorry, Hunter,” I said to his surprise.

He looked at me, like he was doing it for the first time in his entire life. He sat on the chair next to the bed and urged me to eat with a nod of his head.
