Andrew's POV

Somehow I felt a pang of regret—I shouldn't have left her back there. But I couldn't have taken her away either. I didn't fully understand Alpha Phil yet, not the way I'd know someone the moment I lay eyes on them.

Still, I thought he was an asshole—one still in love with the mate he claimed had killed his child. And a coward too—because he can't even decide whether he wants her or not.

Well, I’d prefer he stay a coward for the rest of his life.

My ride finally arrived at the pack. My boots brushed the tiles with each step I took as I approached the hallway. Rick approached me from the other side of the hallway, with his pale fair face and alluring walk. I hadn't noticed how much his stubble was growing until now.
