Chapter 4. Caught 

           Anabelle proceeded to walk forward, but her father's words stopped her.

" I think it's the wind." Arnold commented, as he also looked back. 

Anabelle frowned even more and pointed to the place. " But that's the way to Anita's room." Then, she stepped back, with an astonished expression. " Do you think?" 

" No, don't think like that." Arnold waved the idea off. 

Anabelle had no choice. She exhaled and straightened herself. 

" Father, we have to do that! It only a matter of time before the Alpha's guards arrive here. Anita is my step sister, and I care about her, but one life can't ruin three lives and more. I hope you understand. Though, I really feel sorry for Anita, but this is her fate. I guess she is really cursed." 

Arnold stood akimbo and lowered his head. He was now in a dilemma. Although, Anita was his daughter, but he wasn't proud of her because of her wolfless ability, and he thought Anabelle was right. So there was nothing he could say. 

Anabelle lowered her eyes, as a wee nefarious smile tugged the corner of her lips.

      Anita crawled to her room subtly and exhaled loudly. " That was close!" 

Her heart couldn't stop palpitating heavily, and she thought it was going to leap out soon. 

She sat on her tiny bed made of straws and clutched her chest, as her eyes scanned the whole room frantically. She was so scared and confounded. Her breathing turned heavy, and she could feel an unknown coldness surrounding her feet. 

" What am I going to do?" 

She whispered, as she laid on her bed with her trembling body. Her heart was racing very fast, and she thought she had to do something.....

But what?

        Heavy footsteps could be heard, as a familiar lady ran with all her might, her breathing coming out loud than ever! 

It was already midnight by the time Anita eloped from the house, but since then, she couldn't stop running. 

Since she didn't want to lose her life, there was only one thing that could be done. 

So, she decided to run away from the pack, but her destination was unknown.

Just then, sound of a dry twig been stepped on was heard, and she immediately widened her eyes. She pursed to look around, but before she could take a step, two strange people surrounded her. 

" Don't you even dare!" The two people were wearing a mask, so their faces couldn't be seen properly. 

Anita felt like her life had ended, and tears welled up in her eyes. " Please, don't kill me! Please, am innocent. Am not cursed please.." she begged pitifully, as she went on her knees. 

She didn't want her life to end this way. 

The two people glanced at each other and released Anita from their grip. 

" Are you a rogue?" They questioned her. 

Anita was stunned, and she blinked her eyes repeatedly. 

" Rogues?" 

The two people lowered their head. " We are rogues, and we are in the same situation as you." They explained, and Anita discovered they were females, from the sound of their voice. 

Anita couldn't believe her ears, and she covered her mouth. 

" You mean?" 

The two people sighed. There was no time for introduction or further discussion. 

" There is no time to talk anymore. C'mon, let's go. We are been hunted right now." 

Anita swiftly stood up and nodded. " Thank you." It felt like another ray of hope had shone on her heart. 

Instantly, the three of them got back to the run, to only the goddess knows where. 

But unknown to them, they were already been watched. 

Everywhere was still dark and thick, but they cared less. After running for some minutes, they stopped in the middle of a forest to take a break. 

" Am really sorry, am wolfless, so I don't have the strength as you guys." Anita confessed with shame and clenched her fists.

" It okay. We are already aware, but we will help you." 

For the first time, Anita felt like she now had a real family. She smiled and walked forward to embrace them.

Suddenly, a loud cracking noise echoed! 

" No, get back!" One of the rogues, shouted and jumped immediately. 

Anita was puzzled and appeared startled. " What do you mean? I just wa......"
