The fateful interview

***Rebecca***

I woke up around 8 o'clock this morning and had plenty of time to get ready and have breakfast before my interview. So I picked my phone up thinking I could still read something or check my social media. There were another 9 missed calls and voicemails from Matt. I rolled my eyes and deleted the messages without ever listening to them. "Well at least Louise stopped calling me" I laughed. I've got out of bed and went straight for the shower. Finally feeling refreshed and rested after days of agony.

I have picked a black pencil skirt and a white satin shirt to put on for the interview, and dang did I look good. The outfit hugged my curves in all the right places, but still looked very professional. I curled my dark chocolate hair into big loose curls and put on some natural make-up, my emerald eyes were the biggest make-up I ever needed. I slipped black stilettos on and glanced in the mirror very happy with how I looked, grabbed my car keys and walked out the doors for breakfast.

Mila have sent me the address I was supposed to show up at for the interview. So I've typed it into my car navigation and started my car. It led me all the way through the town, which was absolutely stunning in daylight. You could see mountains on one side and a shining river in the other side of the town. Small waterfalls falling down the rocky edge forming into a river at the bottom and running to the lake. It was gorgeous and I started dreaming about my new life right here.

I turned down a small road just outside the town and could see a huge ranch in a distance. As I was driving down the road I've noticed cows roaming and lots of beautiful horses running in the green fields. The ranch seemed massive and very busy, people working everywhere. I have reached my destination and it was a modern half glass, half wood building, and not far I could see stables. I was so excited, cause I loved horses since I was a child. Always wanted to learn how to ride, but never really had a chance.

A beautiful brunette lady was waiting just outside the doors and she smiled brightly when she saw me walking towards.

"Hello there, you must be Rebecca?" she asked.

"And you must be Mila?" I replied smiling.

"It's nice to meet you, please come on in"

"You too." I said and followed her in.

We went into the meeting room with table and leather chairs, all walls were made out of thick glass.

"So tell me a little about yourself Rebecca" Mila said sitting down.

"Well there's not very much to tell really" I shied. "I am looking for a fresh start, new job and a new home. I have studied business management and just about to get my diploma. And I was also working at the company which was developing health products. I was one of the business managers and essentialy helped run the business." I explained.

"That's quite impressive. We are currently looking for an admin as you already know, but this position is just a start leading up to a management of business. You would be working along side of our boss and his second hand, helping them and making decisions together." Mila said. "And looking at your CV and all recommendations, I think you would be a perfect match for us" she smiled.

"That's amazing, when can I start?" I asked, feeling absolutely happy.

"Let me get all the paperwork sorted, your contract of employment and I think you should be good to start as soon as this Friday"

"That would be absolutely fantastic! This ranch is absolutely stunning and the scenery around it is breathtaking, I'd be happy to work here."

"Oh, just wait till you get a tour. It gets even better " she beamed.

Mila went to get all my paperwork sorted and left me to wait in the meeting room. A tall blonde woman walked in, smiled and asked me if I wanted to drink anything while I wait.

" Just a black coffee please " I said.

She brought my coffee back in few minutes and I sat enjoying it and the perfect view through the window.

I was still sitting at the table when I felt as if someone's looking at me. My eyes went up and I saw a handsome, tall man staring right at me, he mumbled something underneath his breath and started walking towards the meeting room. He opened the doors and walked right in. He was built like a Greek god, wide shoulders and muscles rippling through the shirt he was wearing. Dark brown hair, square jaw with a short beard around and brown eyes gazing right at me. He inhaled deeply, his eyes closing shortly and he was about to open his mouth to speak when Mila came back into the room.

"Oh, hello, boss" she said. "This is Rebecca, she will be our new admin and your future manager. She's absolutely perfect for this position and I've got all the paperwork ready for her to start this Friday" she smiled looking at me.

" This is our boss and the owner of this ranch, Luke Dalton" Mila said gesturing towards the Greek god.

I have jumped out of my seat and reached my hand out to him.

"Pleasure to meet you sir, I'm Rebecca Summers and I'm looking forward to working with you" I said with a bright smiled.

He grabbed my hand instantly and I felt a small spark run through my hand. I flinched a little and it seemed as if my new boss's eyes went even darker than the dark brown they already were.

He shook his head a little and smiled at me "Luke Dalton, and please call me Luke."

"Of course" I replied smiling.

Mila was staring at us right now, not saying anything and I realised he was still holding my hand. I've pulled it away instantly and I saw a pinch of regret in Luke's eyes.

I probably just imagined it, I thought to myself. I've turned around to get my bag ready to leave.

"Well if that's all for today, I'll be going and I will see this friday. It was nice meeting you both." I said starting for the door.

"We will see you this Friday at 9 am" Mila said.

"Wait, I'll walk you to your car" said Luke.

"Umm, alright" I replied.

We walked to my car in silence, but I felt that he kept glancing at me while we walked, which felt a little strange, but I let it go. He opened the doors for me and said:

"Would you like a tour tomorrow morning?"

"Sure, that would be nice" I said.

"Tomorrow then. At 10?" he asked.

"Ten is perfect" I smiled.

And he grinned back at me.
