Chapter Six

"This right here is is just a lounge for studying. I've seen more make out sessions happen here than actual studying," there wasn't much to the first floor other than the study lounge on the left and bathroom on the right. The maroon wall of the lounge went well with the warm fluorescent light in the room. The one thing that did catch my eyes was the silver engraving of the Luveldom Academy name and symbol on the olive green wall. We resumed our journey and proceeded to go up the stairs. Luckily for me, Yumena held my bags which saved me from a task of complete struggle. My thighs eventually began responding to the excess amount of stairs. We had only reached the third floor and Yumena looked perfectly fine. She was ahead of me by two stairs but I kept going. I couldn't believe I would have to go through this every morning and afternoon.

Yumena led the way until we reached the black, oak door that had the number three on it. "Well that's you," Yumena dropped my bags and ran her fingers through her hair. "Thanks," I took the key I was given by the receptionist out of my pocket. All of my concealed excitement had been boiling up for this moment. This was going to be my home for the next two years and I couldn't wait to see what awaited me. I unlocked the door and turned the knob. The room was painted the same maroon color as downstairs and it was bigger than I had imagined. There were three beds. One on the left side of the room, one on the right, and another by the window at the top corner of the bedroom. The bed's on the left and right sides of the room had bed sheets on them which gave me the impression that the beds had already been claimed. I was quite happy with the bed by the window being mine. All I had to do next was apply the bedsheets over the comforter but I'd do that later on after my tour with Yumena. I placed all my bags in the small and narrow dressing room on the left side of the room.

My School Uniform was all on a clothing hanger and the hanger had my name written on it. I saw a pleated tennis skirt that had blue and green patterns in its darkest shade which made the skirt almost appear black. We had the option of choosing between the skirt or black pants. On the shelf, there were a couple of white-collar shirts and two black drop shoulder sweaters next to the shirts. My blazer was black with two silver buttons. The school emblem was on the left side of the Blazer. There were two cravat bow tie's that had the same pattern as my skirt. The necktie reminded me of something characters in Gossip Girl would wear.

I'd unpack my bags later on too and place my clothes on the shelves and hangers. I opened the door next to the dressing room and it was just the bathroom. Surprisingly, it was bigger than I thought it would be and it had both a shower and bath which was very accommodating.

I was finally done scoping the place out and I had joined Yumena once again. "By the way, why didn't you come in? Do Vampires need permission to en-" she had swiftly cut me off before I could finish my sentence. "That's just something Humans created to feel safe. We also don't burn in the sun," no daylight saving rings, no invitation needed to enter homes. What else wasn't true? I wasn't even going to bother asking her about garlic. "Do you mind telling me about other inaccuracies?"

"I'm not a history teacher Ren," Yumena chuckled. "Your parents really should have told you about this," I had stopped in my tracks and Yumena who was a few steps away stopped too. She twirled to face me and crossed her arms.

"You know, I think it'd be better if I explored the school on my own," I tried so hard to control my emotions. I knew if I didn't the force I wanted to keep hidden would come out and cause destruction. I didn't need my first day of school to go in that direction.

"What, did I hurt your feelings?" She stepped closer to me as if she wanted to intimidate me. "Because I'll apologize. I wouldn't want to upset my cousin. Do you accept my apology Ren?" Her large feline eyes stared me down and she stuck her hand out for me to shake but all I did was stare at her bony, pale fingers. She wanted me to accept her apology even though she didn't apologize. Saying the word apology doesn't mean you're apologizing. I chuckled because I was truly shocked at her behavior. "I'll see you around Yumena. Thank you for the tour," I turned in my position and headed back to my dorm room. I didn't know the school grounds so it was pointless to head anywhere else.

I threw myself on my bed and let out a loud sigh. I turned to face the ceiling and I spread my legs and arms out. The downsize from my old bed size was evident due to my legs hanging off the edges. The loud laughter and chatter coming from outside the door were the only thing that piqued my interest. It seemed to be getting closer and sounded like it was coming from right outside the door.

I sat upright at the click of the key turning in the lock. My heart rate jumped. The two girls that walked in were both physically stunning. "Look at what we have here," the blonde girl said with much enthusiasm. She had a British accent laced into her words and a cold exterior just like Yumena and pale skin to match. The blonde girl's eye's radiated a blue intensity that reminded me of the Atlantic. "Oh my gosh, hi," the girl with the light brown hair had a small, round face and held a friendly smile on her lips. She waved at me with much enthusiasm. Her dazzling smile highlighted the beauty mark on her cheekbone that added to the beauty she already possessed. "Hi," I held a genuine smile on my lips and even though I muttered one word. The nerves in my voice were very evident. "I'm Saiora," The brunette beauty opened her arms out to me and pulled me into a warm and comforting hug. Saiora squeezed me tightly and rubbed my back. "Ren," I said while in her arms.

It felt like I had gone through a therapy session and as soon as the hug was over I wanted to head right back into her arms. "Rachel Bloodworth," the blonde girl opted for a handshake which I gladly accepted. Her hand immediately alerted my senses and evoked an army of goosebumps to rise on my skin. "It's really nice to meet you guys," I sat back down on my bed. "Nice to meet you too Ren. I don't think I've ever heard that name much," Saiora sat down on what appeared to be her bed. Rachel joined her and sat right next to her. "Your name is pretty unique. What does it mean because Saiora is something I've never heard before?"

"It means golden one in the old tongue," I hesitantly nodded my head. I wasn't quite sure what the old tongue was. "The old tongue. It's the language spoken amongst Supernatural communities. It's not as popular as it used to be but you'll hear it in spells. It's usually mixed in with some Latin too," Saiora caught on to my confusion and explained the information I lacked. "Thanks for explaining. I'm not really well versed in all this Supernatural business. I really have a lot to learn," I giggled softly.

It was embarrassing as a Witch to not even know the language of spells. A sigh left my mouth and my lips instantly pursed together. The frustration of the situation was truly catching up to me. "Oh, no need to thank me," Saiora smiled brightly. "I'll be happy to explain anything else you might want to know." She made me feel better and a small smile made its way onto my lips. "And this is why you're in the Student Representatives," Rachel attacked Saiora with a hug that left both of them laying down on the bed. I felt like I was intruding on an intimate moment but I smiled at the cute moment.

"Which Supernatural groups are you guys apart of?" I kind of sensed that Rachel was a Vampire but I wasn't sure when it came to Saiora. "Why don't you take a guess?" Rachel raised her eyebrow. She had Saiora tucked into her arms and I wondered why her cold exterior didn't seem to affect Saiora. She didn't even have a jacket on. "Well... you must be a Vampire," Rachel gave me a nod of approval. "Bingo," she said. I chewed on the inside of my cheek and squinted my eyes at Saiora. I really wasn't sure but I went ahead and guessed anyway. "Are you a Mermaid?" Saiora scrunched her nose and smiled. "I'm a Werewolf," she chuckled. "Wow," my eyes widened and my mouth hung open. "That is really cool. Is there any pain when you know- shift?" She shook her head. "Not at all. It's a really exhilarating experience. I can kind of say it's like cracking your knuckles. Painless experience with some relief after." It was good to know that there was no pain involved in the process of transforming.

"Well, what are you?" Rachel questioned, I had never had that question asked to me before. It made the metamorphosis of my change even more real. "I'm a Witch, I only really found out last week," they both reacted the way I expected them to. Their faces were the epitome of shock. "Are your parent's Supernaturals? I know on-occasion Supernaturals with adopted human parents are usually recruited into one of the Luveldom Academies," Rachel's British accent was really pleasant to the ears. It was also intriguing to find out that there were more Luveldom Academies around the world. "My Father is actually a Warlock and my Mother is a Mermaid," That must of been the answer they weren't expecting because the shock returned to their faces. "Whoa you're double-blooded," Saiora said in awe.

That word was one thing I didn't need an explanation for. "Is it common?" I didn't need another reason as to why I couldn't blend in. "Yeah, like forty percent of the people in this school are double-blooded. There's like three double blooded students in the Student Representatives. " Saiora said with the most reassuring tone. I was relieved that at least I wasn't one in a few. "There's Stephanie Choi, Santiago Vieira and Lachlan Quinn," Rachel concluded. "Is there anyone that can channel magic from both their parent's who are different beings?"

My father did tell me that the Bordelon genes overtook my mother's. That's why I was a witch but why couldn't a double-blood pick up both of their parent's genes. "It's only happened twice in our history. Namone Massiro and Jade Dartridge.

Namone was born in 1508 to a Werewolf father and Mermaid mother. She could transform into both a Mermaid and a Werewolf. Jade Dartirdge's mother was a Witch and her father a Fae. She could perform spell magic, elemental magic, and present Fairy wings." Saiora explained all of this helpful information to me and I couldn't help but think she was my golden ticket to a tour around this place.

I was going through an internal battle of gathering up enough courage to ask Saiora for a tour of the school. "Can we go to the Cafeteria before I drain you guys of your blood?" Saiora rolled her eyes at the comment Rachel made. I was just happy that it was an open invitation for me to join too. "As if your teeth could even get close enough to my neck," is this how flirting worked in the Supernatural realm? Saiora held out her hand to get Rachel out of the bed. She scoffed at Saiora and proceeded to grab her hand. "Would you like to test that out?" Rachel pulled her back into the bed probably as a way to assert her strength. Saiora hovered over Rachel and tightly, clutched onto her neck. It didn't seem to inflict any pain on Rachel whatsoever. "You two should get a room," I giggled at their wrestling shenanigans. They both snapped their heads at me. "What?" Saiora giggled too. Rachel sheepishly grinned and although her face was the same monotone pale, white color throughout. She would've been as red as a rose.

Saiora removed herself from Rachel and the bed. "We're just friends," Sairoa giggled. Rachel bit her lip and stared down into the floor. She didn't seem too phased with Saiora's words. "Oh... I'm sorry for assuming."

"It's not a big deal, really," Rachel added. I felt bad for assuming and now my mind would remind me for the entire day. "Let's go eat," Saiora commanded. "By the way, could you show me around the school please?" I finally gathered enough courage to ask Saiora and she greeted me with a warm smile and nod. "Of course but didn't you get a tour earlier on?" I shook my head.

How was I going to explain the Yumena situation? "Um, my tour guide was this girl Yumena but we didn't exactly get along," Rachel rolled her eyes and I wasn't quite sure if I offended her or not. "She's a Grade A, obnoxious Bitch. I'm sorry you had to deal with that," Rachel said which prompted me to let out the air of oxygen that I was holding in due to the tangled knots of nerves in my stomach. "Just talking about her makes me mad," she added. "She thinks she's better than everyone because her Father is in the Board of Directors that run all of the Luveldom Academies." Saiora spoke this time and I couldn't help but wonder what type of experiences they had gone through with Yumena.

Could she really get any worse?
