I wake up with no clarity as to where I am. My head feels foggy and achy, and I'm having trouble remembering anything. I take a second to take stock of my surroundings. I started with my body parts. My hands and feet seem to be in working order, my head still attached to my neck, but something feels off. I'm not sure what it is.

I checked in with my wolf to see if she is alright.

Hey, I think inwardly. You good?

"Yes," My wolf responds, and I sigh in relief and open my eyes. I looked around with a confused expression. I am in someone's bedroom. I took in the ultra-modern space, filled with expensive and tasteful decor, and wondered where I was.

Am I back home? My heart rate skyrocketed at the possibility of being back in Victor's clutches.

How did he find me?

The door opened, drawing my attention. I looked and swallowed my tongue at the gorgeous man who walked in. He has these delicate features that make him look almost effeminate, and his slender frame adds to his beautiful

    DIMITRI'S POVAs I held her limp body in mine, fury like I have never felt before rejuvenated inside me, making every part of me feel hot. A growl vibrates against my chest, echoing loudly inside the room as I turn slowly to face my second, who still holds the gun she used to shoot my mate, my eyes glowing golden. I carefully let the girl down, and flew to my feet, moving with great speed to where my second was standing. She doesn't react to my threatening presence; instead, she closes her eyes with a calm expression, accepting her fate. Her surrender doesn't make a dent in the fury raging through me, nor does it make a difference. How dare she try to end the life of something that belongs to me? I wrap my hand around her sturdy neck and lift her off her feet. She doesn't show fear, nor distress, but I wasn't trying to scare her, I was going to kill her. It doesn't matter if she shows fear or not, but she will cease to exist for attempting to take something very important to me.Xer

    DIMITRI POV'S CONTI know what Zainab was going to say. He was going to say what our people would say, the council, a group of old heads that oversee our affairs. Our people believe that the wolves are beneath us and therefore forbid any relationships or coupling with them. Such an alliance is frowned upon and deemed unworthy. To put it plainly, it is not recognized, and our people shun anyone involved in such a relationship. “Sire, what Zainab is trying to say is that your leadership already faces enough problems to add this to its list,” Xero says in what she assumes is a reasonable tone, but only irritates me because they seem to think they could tell me what to do. I smile at the baby, making a face at him while pretending not to hear what my men are saying. Some of my people are not pleased with my leadership. They feel that I am not handling many things the way they should be handled. For instance, the constant attack on our businesses, our people by dissident wolves, who ar

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Twenty-Five: A mutt for a mate

    DIMITRI'S POVI gazed down at the wonder in my arms. He had his eyes closed and his little thumb inside his mouth as he slept. His head is full of a soft mop of dark brown hair, and his skin still looks red like someone roasted him. I look from his innocent face, softened in sleep, to Dr Weiss. "How is she?" I saw him roll his eyes discreetly before he answered me. "She is still the same as she was five minutes ago when you asked me." Dr Weiss was able to save the mother, but unfortunately, after he stitched the woman up, she lapsed into unconsciousness. He also told me about her other injuries, and the woman reeked of rogues when we found her. My fingers curled into a fist as I remembered the words of the doctor. When I find the ones responsible, I will ensure they pay with their lives. The baby in my arms whimpered as if sensing the strong emotions raging inside me. I took a deep breath to calm down. I don't want to wake the crying monster. It was a battle to settle him down la

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter twenty-Four: The Deathrite

    VICTOR'S POV CONTI stared at my grandmother impatiently, waiting to hear why she thinks Raven is alive. Selene told me she is dead, and she wouldn't lie to me about something of this magnitude. "Raven is not dead because she has a great destiny to fulfill. You see, Raven is not—"I raise my hand to stop my grandmother's rambling. I can't believe she wasted a few seconds of my time just to tell me about this jumbo nonsense again. This is not the first time my grandmother has told me how special Raven is. What could be special about some ugly fat mutt? I looked down at the watch on my wrist. I'm almost late for work, and I have a ton of work waiting for me in my office. "I can't believe you killed the woman carrying your child. When did you get this evil?" Cassain's angry snarl pulled my attention away from my watch, and I looked at him with amusement. "My child?!" I mocked with a raised brow. Don't you mean your child? My voice hardened as I glared at the young pup. Cassain opened

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Twenty-Three: Good and bad news

    VICTOR'S POVIt seems Selene was right to push me back to work early because everything in the company is in riots. During my six-month absence, my employees acted without supervision, and now I have to go to work every day to put everything back in order as it should be. Work isn't the only thing keeping me up at night; my family, for one. They still refuse to tell me where Raven is, and no word from the ones Selene sent after her. The worst headache of all is the damn bitch I called my mate for years. I don't know why it rankles me that she is still out there. Maybe because it makes me feel weak, that someone like her could elude me this long. I didn't think Raven had it in her to survive this long outside the Pack, yet she has lasted weeks since she ran from me.Fucking, bitch! I cursed while trying to knot my tie. I am ready to leave for work if only my fucking tie would behave. Just like Raven, the damn tie is hell bent on defying me. Knotting my tie is a skill that eludes me;
