DIMITRI POV

I am in my office pouring over work files when a knock sounds on the door dragging my attention away from the laptop screen before me.

I look toward the door, and bids them entrance. I go back to the files, the sound of the door knob turning cutting through the silence in the room.

The door opens and someone walks in. I look up when I feel them before my desk. From the spicy scent circulating the room, I already know who it is.

“Sire,” she greets.

I lift my eyes slowly to meet her serious ones. “You are late,” I say without preamble, cocking a brow at her.

“I am sorry. It took more time than I anticipated to uncover her story,” she responds with a blank expression.

I wonder if she knows how annoying her impassive face is.

“So you found something?” I gaze at her curiously.

She nods. “She is a wolf,” she blurts out, shocking me.

My brows climbs to my hairline. I struggled to believe her words. If the brunette is a wolf I will know. I mean even Xero herself thought h

RAVEN’S POVA tap on the shoulder wakes me up from sleep, but I quickly dose off again when I stole a glance at the bedside clock to find that it is too early. Maybe a figment of my imagination, I reasoned, drifting off again. I mean no sane person wakes up at 4 am. The tap comes again, drawing me out of sleep, and rousing my annoyance. I hiss as I smack the hand off my body. I was about to drift again when I heard it. A low deep chuckle. My eyes snaps open, and I turn my head in its direction. My heart leaps to my throat when it encounters Dimitri’s twinkling blue eye, but his amused expression clears once our eyes meet. He sits beside dressed as if on his way for a run. His sleeveless vest exposed his muscular arms, and I couldn’t help stealing a glance or two at them. “Ready for your training?” his baritone voice snags my attention from his muscles, sending shivers down my spine. I blink at him, slightly confused. I believe I am still half asleep. Which normal person functions

“Who is she?” I snap out of my thoughts at her question and glance at her. She is staring forward, her expression unreadable, but she sounded curious. It is obvious she is asking about Isabella. “A friend.” Her head snaps in my direction, her expression reads she doesn’t believe me, and I don’t blame her, but that is the safest answer I have right now. I don’t explain further and she doesn’t question me further. We get close to Isabella and my boys and I could see the look of frustration on their faces. Isabella being who she is could try the patient of a saint. She is very high demanding and bossy. Our arrival attracts their attention and they stop arguing to watch us as I parked the car. Raven steps out of the car before I could come around, but she waits for me before approaching the boys and Isabella. Isabella doesn’t wait for me to get to her, but makes her way to me with a broad grin on her face. When she gets to me she throws her arms around my neck and kisses. Shocked b

DIMITRI POVHonestly, I don’t know why I claimed her baby. But when I turned to her, I answered. “Because I have always wanted a child.” Her eyes widens, and I smile. “What? Do someone like me not deserve a child?” I am not ignorant as to how most perceive me, and it is a reputation well deserved. I had fought for my seat, and to my people, strength and ruthlessness is power, and I do not regret my past. She doesn’t say anything and faces front. I assumed the conversation is over and starts the car. “And me being your mate?” She questions into the silence, a few minutes into our journey home. I look at her again, but she is staring out of the window. I couldn’t see her face to read what she is thinking. As a Lycan I can read her thoughts if I want to, but I didn’t want to invade her privacy. I remember Xero’s words earlier this morning and ask. “Do you read minds?” Her head snaps in my direction with an obvious surprised expression. “What?” Maybe I am overthinking things. The s

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Twenty-Eight: A deal is a deal

DIMITRI POVI turn to look at the screen when the doctor begins to move the weird looking thing on her stomach. My heart pounds in anticipation as the screen begins to screech. I do not understand the weird shaped on the screen but I stared at the screen like my life depended on it. It feels as if the baby is mine, and honestly I am a little surprised at my action. I have always wanted to be a father, and I wanted that with Simone, but she wasn’t ready when we were together, and then she died. I pushed down the bad thoughts. I hate thinking about Simone. I would want to say I am over her death, but truthfully, I am not. I still misses her like she died yesterday instead of five hundred years ago. She was my soul mate, though not my mate, unfortunately. A thing that broke Simone’s heart. She wanted so badly to be my mate, that she felt our relationship was incomplete, and it didn’t matter how many times I tried to reassure her. “This is your baby.” The doctor’s voice snaps me out

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Twenty-Seven: Hospital Visit

DIMITRI POVPatience isn’t something I practice a lot, but with her I am trying. If anyone other than her had spoken to me in such manner they would be dead. I close my eyes and open them, fixing her with a stern look. “The next time you speak to me in that tone I will punish you.” She blushes, averting her eyes from me, before she slowly lifts them back, and in their emerald depth lies guilt and fright. I did not mean to frighten her, but she needs to keep in mind who I am, and I do not tolerate disrespect, not even from the woman I am dying to fuck. “I am sorry,” she speaks, her voice low, and sincere. “Apology accepted,” I smiled at her to let her know all is forgiven. “Ready?” She nods and I take her hand. I stop walking when she doesn’t move with me. I look at her to find her eyes staring somewhere else. "Is something the matter?" “You are holding my hand,” she says as if it is a big feat. I did not understand her surprise. I love holding her hand. It fits perfectly well in
