(THE WOODS)

"Your father means well,Krisen." Suban, David's son chased after the angry wolf.

"Just get lost,Suban." Krisen growled as he stormed out of the hall, his father had yet again angered him.

"Where are you going to? It is raining heavily outside." Suban tried to stop him but the stubborn wolf still went his way.

Subanshook his head, wondering why he always tried to stop Krisen when he never listens to anyone. He listening to his mother was even a miracle that happens not so occasionally.

Krisen walked towards the edge of the cliff despite the heavy storm, it had become his safe space ever since he was 16.

He looked down to the sea and with his clear sight he could see something lying flat on the sand. "Suban, what is that?" he questioned.

"What is what? The rain is pouring really hard let's go back inside Krisen," Suban did not care about what Krisen was asking him.

"There is something there fool, look down." Krisen pulled him towards the edge.

Suban’s eyes widened in fear as he thought he would fall. "What the hell Krisen!" He exclaimed as he stepped back quickly.

Krisen scoffed, "You are still scared of heights? Ridiculous." He spat out in contempt.

"Whatever, there is nothing there, it might just be a fallen tree ... let's head back before your mother starts to worry." Suban patted Krisen shoulder as he forced him to head back.

They reached the house in no time.

"See you tomorrow," Suban bade Krisen good night.

When Krisen entered, Suban left but he did not go home. Rather, he went towards the sea, he had also seen something too.

As he walked closer, he could see something on the sand.

"What in the moon," he cursed out when he saw a body.

Suban studied the body carefully. "Where did it come from?"

He was hesitant to approach it so he ran back to inform his father.

Minutes later,

"There," Suban mentioned, pointing towards the body. "It's a female."

They approached it carefully.

"Where did it come from?" Suban asked in confusion.

David looked towards the sea, "Beyond the woods," he whispered out to himself.

Suban knotted his brows in confusion. "What do you mean, father?" he did not understand.

David looked at his son. "No one ... and when I mean no one, I mean no one. Not even Krisen should know about this. This will stay between you and me, it will determine our future in this pack." He ordered his son seriously.

Subandid not understand but he nodded anyway.

"Let us get it to the house." David instructed as he carried the body over his shoulders and they went back discreetly to their house.

"Heiheuhei" The seer's cringing laugh echoed in his den.

"The prophecy has begun," he said out loud to himself.

(THE ISLAND)

"Dimitri! You turn 20 today, how come you still wait for me to come get you up from bed?" Aileen scolded as she approached Dimitri’s room.

"Dimitri, are you really ..." She paused when she opened the wooden door.

Her eyes roamed the room, "Dimitri?" She called out as she approached the bed carefully but she did not see her daughter.

"Did she leave early?" She thought out loud.

Aileen left the room and walked back to the kitchen where her husband was. "Did you see Dimitri leave this morning?" she queried.

She had to prepare for the birthday celebrations and she needed to make sure her daughter looked presentable.

‘Ouff! So many things to do,' she complained inwardly.

Moko looked at her for a while before shaking her head, signifying a no.

"How come she is not in her room then ... or is this turning a new way in a new age?" Aileen chuckled.

It would be nice if her daughter actually did that.

"I am heading to the shore; I'll be back before lunch." Moko said as he kissed his wife on her forehead and left.

When Moko stepped out of the house a man named Griffin approached him, "Bright sun Leader Moko (Good morning leader)"

"Bright sun, Griffin, is anything the matter?" Moko inquired.

"A tree bed is missing, leader, it was here the previous moon (yesterday) but now it is missing." Griffin reported.

The fish hunters had gotten ready to go fish hunting but they did not see a tree bed so few of them were left behind.

Moko's eyebrows drew into a knot and a frown appeared on his face. "How did only one tree bed go missing? It couldn't be the storm or do any tree beds having openings? (Leaks/breakage)"

‘If the storm was the cause, then it would not have affected just one tree bed,’ he thought to himself.

"We checked everything and it is good, leader." Griffin responded, he too was equally confused, after allthis wasn’t the first time they were facing a heavy downpour.

"Let's go," Moko said as they walked towards the shore. They continued their discussion.

"Are you certain the tree bed was knotted well?" It seemed really unreasonable.

"Is anybody missing from the island?" He kept asking to put things together.

"Missing? I will have to check that out." Griffin replied with uncertainty, he did not think about that, besides who would leave here and where will they go to?

They arrived at the sea shore and just like Griffin said, there were a few fish hunters who could not go hunting.

"How did this happen? I am certain that the tree bed was knotted properly."

"Are you certain of what you are saying? Then how did only that tree bed go missing? You will have to face punishment for this."

They had started arguing amongst themselves.

"Bright sun, Leader!" They greeted in chorus when they noticed Moko's presence.

"Bright sun to you all. Go back to your houses, we will hold a meeting after lunch." Moko ordered before he went to inspect the scene.

The wood for hanging the ropes were still intact so even if the storm took the tree bed with it, the tree bed would still have little pieces remaining as the storm was too wild

"It was not the storm, someone must have either taken the tree bed or it was not tied well to begin with." Moko said to Griffin.

"Go and do a row call, I will see you after lunch." He ordered.

"Yes, leader," Griffin responded and left.

Moko looked around. Normally he would see his daughter around the shore learning to roll and navigate the tree beds but today he did not see her, he did not even see Festus.

Today she turns 20 and she is supposed to be crowned heir formally.

He did not think about it too much, he felt she would be somewhere with Festus so he went about to his daily routine, he walked towards the training square.

"Boy!" Moko called Festus who was sitting near the training square on a tree root that the stem had been cut off.

He assumed Dimitri would be with Festus but he was obviously mistaken.

"Sir! Leader." Festus launched up immediately to a soldier’s standing posture, it was obvious he still feared Moko.

Moko kept a stern face. "Where is Dimitri?"

Festus felt his breath get hitched.

What was he going to say?

Why did Moko have to ask him?

Did Moko find out something?

Jolly and Jen walked towards Krisen’s room cautiously, neither of them wanted to be shouted at nor leave him be after what happened at the moon meal. “You knock,” Jolly urged Jen as she stepped to the side; away from the door. Jen pouted in grievance as she argued, “Why do I have to be the one to knock? You are the bravest between us two. You should knock.” She pulled Jolly forward to stand in front of the door as she replaced her in her position beside the door. She raised both her thumbs into the air as she stretched out an encouraging smile on her lips, “You can do this!” Jolly rolled her eyes, she breathed out heavily before raising her hand to knock on the door, but the door was pulled open from the inside before her knuckles could reach the door. Her eyes bulged as she saw Krisen standing in front of the open space with a light frown on his face. Jen stood frozen by the side as she pressed her body further into the wall; wishing she could immerse herself into it. Jolly b

Elena stood in front of the training ground with her arms folded in front of her chest; her face strained. Hera stood beside her with a puzzled expression, “What are you on about, Elena?” she turned her head towards her. “Nothing I can’t handle.” Elena responded grimly as her gaze remained focused on the entrance of the training ground. “It’s about that dirt, right? I heard she is an angel.” Hera sated with sheer disgust. “Does this mean she won’t face any punishments? It’s her fault that we have to train endlessly these past suns. I hate her.” Just as they were still speaking, Dimitri walked into the training grounds with Suban following behind with a blank look on his face. “Speaking of thedirt, here she comes.” Hera ridiculed as she glared daggers at Dimitri. “How does she make Suban follow her like a loyal dog, she is definitely doing something to make him so blind.” Dimitri watched as Elena walked towards her, she closed her eyes and let out a tired breath, “Goddess, I hav

  • Lycanthrope; Dimitri's Vengeance   Chapter 88 Possessed

The fog filled forest had darkened more than normal as the looming presence remained like a whisper in the air. Dimitri was even more certain that she wasn’t imagining things, “William, is that you?” she demanded into the air but no response was given. Her eyes roamed around, “I don’t know what you think you are trying to achieve by acting like a coward. You better show yourself this instant.” Her eyes burned with repulse as she thought about a million things to do to him when he finally shows up. A dangerous chill crawled through her skin when the faint moon light casted a shadow in front of her. Someone was standing behind her. She clenched her jaw hard as she calculated her steps and actions precisely, and with one swift turn, she launched her fist; aiming towards the figure. Her brows knotted in confusion as her eyes showed disbelief, “Suban?” she called out with uncertainty as she stopped her fist in time. Dimitri’s fist remained mid-air as she scanned through the figure

  • Lycanthrope; Dimitri's Vengeance   Chapter 87 A Presence

Krisen and Dimitri walked through the fog filled forest in silence with both their faces maintaining a blank expression. They looked like strangers who just happened to be walking on the same path. Dimitri glanced at Krisen from the corner of her eyes several times like she wanted to say something but she didn’t actually say it. Krisen let out a breath through his mouth, “What is it?” he demanded as he turned to face her; trapping her under his gaze. Dimitri stopped walking and also turned to meet his gaze squarely, “Nothing,” she responded blankly. A frown pulled down at the side of Krisen’s lips, “Are you going to speak out or not?” he took a step towards her as his gaze displayed a warning. Dimitri narrowed her eyes on him, “What is with you and always trying to intimidate me? If you know just who I am, you wouldn’t even dream of doing this.” She reprimanded; feeling vexed about his behaviour. Why can’t he speak without openly trying to force someone? “It seems yo

  • Lycanthrope; Dimitri's Vengeance   Chapter 86 A Wizard's Tale

Suban was a panting mess by the time he reached the Wizard’s cave. He ran into the cave like he was expecting some kind of welcome. “I did what you asked, now give it back,” he demanded as his chest rose and fell trying to stabilize his breathing. The wizard snickered in a low tone as he watched Suban from the shadows. He had simply played a joke when he saw Suban wasn’t taking him seriously. Who knew he would actually make him feel so panicked. He looked at the amulet in his hand. He had picked it up after Suban left at that time and decided to keep it as a way to connect to him. These past moons, he was able to freely enter Suban’s dreams and torment him; making him particularly restless and paranoid. “Leave, you won’t gain anything by coming here and making so much noise.” The wizard informed nonchalantly as he enjoyed the look of torment on Suban’s face. Suban tightened his hand into a fist as he gritted his teeth against each other. “Show yourself,” he bellowed as his eye

  • Lycanthrope; Dimitri's Vengeance   Chapter 85 The Demon's Lair

The damp realization on the faces of Luna Carmen and Alpha Ronnie were unmatched as they walked into the cave. Their eyes roamed around it as they noticed the obvious changes. Unlike the edgy surfaces they had known the cave to have, it had stones that were finely curved and positioned in different corners. Even the aura was different. “I think this is their lair,” Krisen dropped as his narrowed eyes stuck on a stone seat fixated exactly in the middle of the cave, and a few meters in front of it was the deep hole that had been created when the seal broke. It was obvious that the seat was going to be for their leader. Luna Carmen closed her eyes as she took in a series of breaths to calm herself down and actually let their present reality sink in. “This is all your doing! Tell me.... did the demon drag you here again?” Alpha Ronnie barked out fiercely as his glared at Dimitri; his face was red and his eyes were dangerously flickering. Dimitri stood still; staring at the grou
