Jake and Charlie made their way into the trailer to meet with Lulu. When they got in, she stood up briefly to welcome them into her home.The place betrayed last minute efforts to put things in order, but it was a good thing that she at least thought of what guests thought of her home- when she wasn’t high. Lulu’s hair looked like it hadn’t been washed in weeks, Charlie suspected that the funny smell that seemed to linger on in the room came from Lulu. Johnny Maddox was not happy at all and everyone around him knew it.It seemed like the past few days things just kept getting out of hand and spinning out of his control.That was not good.Everything had to be in his control because he was in charge, always in charge. On the way to Jeremy’s house, Charlie texted William to tell him the update so far. He seemed hopeful on the lead to find Joel. Then he told them that they had better brought something reasonable from their trip to the two locations because Harroway had already called to ask for updates on the Diane Wilson case. “Harroway needs to chill, it’s not even being a week.” Charlie said.“Well Harroway doesn’t have a week, and neither do I. As Jake sat on the other side of the room , opposite Jeremy he couldn’t stop thinking that there was something odd about him although he couldn’t quite place his finger on it. He and Charlie were engaged in a conversation and his responses seemed calculated like he put a lot of thought into every word that he said which was only normal when talking to the feds. Judging from his line of work, he must have had some experience with this sort of thing. He hadn’t even mentioned that Diane used to work with them or what he did for work even though Charlie tried to trap him into giving those details.Smart guy!They had waited for about thirty minutes before Joel Peters walked into the room. When Charlie and Jake were done with the talk with Jeremy and Joel, they had high hopes once again in regards to cracking the case. Joel Peters had admitted that Diane would run errands for them every now and again, but she didn’t get involved with any major deals and he made sure of that. From what he told them, Charlie got to know that Diane did not keep any close friends and was mostly alone so he was sure that she was not moving with a wrong dangerous group. Jeremy however told them that he had noticed Diane seemed very aloof when he’d seen her recently which meant something was definitely off. The person who they could talk to next would have to be her sister who was the same person that had filed a missing person’s report and also confirmed the body of her sister when Diane was found. Although they hadn't figured out who their main suspect was, Charlie still felt they were on the right track. She and Jake already had a few theories as to what might have happened to Diane, they still needed to have that talk with her sister to put everything into perspective. So far, they knew that Diane was a wild one and might have even gotten herself in more dangerous deals than Joel might have even imagined or maybe Joel Peters was lying and had signed her up for something more dangerous than she or even him had anticipated and poor Diane had taken the fall for it. Diane’s death did not seem like something that happened on accident, it was more of a pre planned and well thought of plan. The poor girl had been carved our and stuffed with drugs like she was a turkey on Thanksgiving. I hate Thanksgiving!
