"Why are you upset?" I try not to jerk away from the voice that whispered in my ear.
"I'm not upset" I say, looking out the window, that's a lie. I am very much upset. I'm just surprised he noticed.
Niko wraps his arm around my middle and pulls my back against his front. Until I’m practically sitting on his lap.
"You are a shit liar." he pauses "Did something happen?"
Like you care, I'm tempted to say but I bite my tongue, pursing my lips unattractively but at this moment I am unable to bring myself to care.
"Just a little tired" I reply after a moment feeling stupid that I allow that woman to upset me.
After the bathroom thing with Eliza, I'd gone back to the table, my mood sour. We only mingled for a while longer and engaged I'm a few conversations.
