CHAPTER THREE

Roseanne walked absentmindedly into her school; she attends a public school. She doesn’t attend the same school as Soberth and Angie, her father thinks it’s a waste of fund spending money on her.

Her baggy Jean and big sweatshirt look faded, but she matched it with a black oversized sneaker. Her long black hair packed up in a bun as she holds her books tightly in her hands as her mind is occupied with the thought of getting married to Gregory today, he informed her father yesterday through a mail.

She sighed deeply as she kept walking then adjusted her books in her hand once again.

“Boom”

The loud voice jerked Roseanne back into reality as she jumped crazily in fear, she looked back to see her best friend laughing at her crazily.

Roseanne rolled her eyes at Riley as she moved closer to her and smacked her head.

She smiled lightly at her and bent down to pack her books that fell from her hand.

“Morning to you too bes’ Riley said in her crazy English Indian accent which made Roseanne smile as she stood up straight with her books. Riley is Roseanne’s best friend who’s an Indian.

“Stop acting all sneaky every morning, act human Riley” Roseanne said as she felt her heart beating fast due to how scared she felt earlier.

“I didn’t act sneaky, I called your name twice and I even tapped you twice. When you didn’t respond, I decided to call you back to earth in another way” Riley said as she made funny faces.

“Crazy girl “Roseanne said as she laughed at her crazy best friend childishness.

Riley puts her arms round Roseanne’s shoulder as they made their way to their hall entrance.

“What were you thinking about earlier, you were so lost in thought”

“I... I…I.” Roseanne stuttered as she couldn’t form the right words.

“You what?” Riley cuts in impatiently.

“I slept late because I had to study late” she said as she avoids making eye contacts with Riley. Riley doesn’t know about her situation, so she has to keep lying to her to avoid being pitied by her.

“it’s crazy having a bookworm as my friend” she said as she sighed dramatically.

Roseanne bursts into laughter as she stares at her crazy friend.

“What could be making the poor rat laugh so loud this morning?”

The laughter hung in Roseanne’s throat as she shivered at the voice she heard. Her leg remained fixed in a spot as she couldn’t move an inch. She looked at her side to see Riley also stuck in a spot, while beads of sweat rolled down her forehead.

The hallway was filled with laughter as they all gathered round to watch the show that’ll be happening soon.

Roseanne looked up to see, the school bully and her friends behind her as she catwalks to them. She felt Riley cold palms on her hand as she held her tightly.

Mandy, Sasha and Catherine stood in their front as they kept chewing and popping their gum loudly as they kept staring at Roseanne and Riley.

“Cat got your tongue?” Mandy said as she pushed Roseanne who fell flat on her ass, the students burst into laughter.

“This might be a public school but still, having people like you studying with me is an insult” Mandy said as she glared at Roseanne.

“Each and every one of us here still have Father’s that are low level mafias, but who the hell is your father?” Mandy said as she kicked Roseanne hard in her tummy which made her roll off to another student who kicked back her back to Mandy who keeps smiling.

Roseanne screamed as she spit out blood as she felt pain all over her body, tears rolled down her eyes as she felt Mandy and her minions moving close to her. She tried to crawl away, but she was dragged back to the middle.

Riley bursts into tears as she sees her friend in that condition and she couldn’t help, her father might also be a low-level mafia like Mandy’s father, but Mandy’s father still has higher rank than her father.

The lecturers can’t interfere because they are just workers, they can’t interfere in mafia affairs.

Roseanne groaned as Mandy drags her with her hair and slapped her roughly, her sight became blurry as tears rolled down her eyes, her lips that were just closing from her father slap yesterday burst open again due to the slap.

Roseanne could hear the students’ laughter as they enjoyed the show of her being beaten. Tears rolled down her eyes as she cried out, as Mandy pushed her to the ground.

“Run for your life and if you escape from me right now, I won’t bully you ever again” Mandy said with an obvious grin on her lips as she walked five feet’s away from Roseanne.

Tears rolled down Roseanne’s eyes as she tried to stand but fell back to the ground on her face due to the intense pain she felt from her tummy, blood rolled down her face from the injury she secured on the head from the fall.

Riley tried to run to her and help her stand up, but Catherine grabbed her by her arm and pushed her to the ground and pinned her down to the ground together with Sasha.

She keeps struggling to stand so she could help Roseanne who keeps trying to stand, but she couldn’t outpower Sasha and Catherine. Tears rolled down her eyes as she saw Mandy walking towards Roseanne.

“Run Rose” Riley shouted out loud was tears roll down her eyes.

Roseanne gathered her strength to stand and tried to run but she couldn’t see well as tears blocked her view.

She tried to run really fast but her oversized sneakers made her slip, and she fell back to the ground. She groaned out loud as she felt pain from her injured tummy already, blood rolled down her mouth.

The student’s laughter echoed loudly in the hall, Roseanne couldn’t move anymore, she tried to pick up her sneakers that fell off her legs, but Mandy beat her to it.

“What brand is this god forsaken sneakers from?” Mandy raised the sneakers up to the air for everyone to see, which caused another uproar of laughter in the hall.

“Dirty pig is the perfect word to describe you lil bitch” Mandy said as a creepy smile made its way to her face.

“You couldn’t escape from me, kiss your freedom goodbye” Mandy said as she made Roseanne stand up her grabbing her hair, the students all laughed out at how helpless she looks.

Tears roll down Roseanne’s eyes as she holds her Jean tightly in pain

“Kill me “she shouted as tears rolled down her eyes.

The hall fell silent like a graveyard.

Mandy smirked at Roseanne’s outburst and laughed out loudly.

“You wanna die? You should have asked for death earlier” she pushed Roseanne back to the ground as she made way to her locker to pick her gun.

Tears roll down Roseanne’s face as she squints her eyes so she could see Riley whose keeps shouting even as she’s pinned to the ground with tears in her eyes.

“If I don’t die by Mandy’s hands, the devil will surely kill me himself, the earlier the better. Maybe in my next life I’ll find happiness, mother I’ll see you soon” Roseanne thought to herself as tears roll down her eyes, she saw Mandy walking back to her with her gun in her hand, she cocked her gun and pointed it at Roseanne who closed her eyes.

Mandy smiled happily as she cocked her gun ready to wipe another pest off the surface of the earth. The student in the hallway keeps cheering up for her to shoot Roseanne, Riley keeps screaming with tears in her eyes as she keeps trying to break free from Sasha and Catherine’s grip.

“Shoot and am gonna have your head on my plate tonight”

A thick husky voice said.

The hallway fell silent as the figure made way into the hall. Mandy’s gun fell to the ground as she stood frozen on a spot with wide eyes.

Roseanne eyes flew open to see what’s going on, but her view was blurry due to the tears on her eyes, all she could hear was the students murmuring noise.
