Finding Clues.

For a second, nobody moved as the fire crackled softly in the background while Eleanor’s final words lingered heavily inside the room.

Bella stared at her, trying to understand why the older woman suddenly looked even more frightened than before.

“The letter?” Bella repeated carefully.

She was starting to panic herself but his the look on her face.

Eleanor nodded immediately. “Yes.”

Her voice sounded strained now and more urgent…Not the composed, controlled tone she normally car

Angry, angry Alpha. The morning dragged heavily across the estate. As the aftermath of the rain still covered the windows in slow streaks while the clouds outside remained dark enough to make the entire house feel trapped in permanent dusk.Bella stood near the vanity inside Aria’s room staring at her own reflection without truly seeing it…She looked exhausted as none of them had slept.Aria sat curled near the edge of the bed with a blanket wrapped around herself while Eleanor remained standing by the window watching the courtyard below.Nobody spoke for a long while as it was as though they were all absorbing all of this. The silence between them no longer felt peaceful. It felt dangerous now…One wrong sentence and everything would crack apart completely. Finally Aria exhaled shakily.“We need to agree on what we’re saying.”Bella looked toward her slowly.Aria swallowed. “Because if he separates us…”Nobody needed further explanation. Eleanor turned from the window at last. “Andre

Prejudice. The basement beneath the estate smelled of damp stone, rust, and old smoke as water dripped somewhere steadily inside the darkness while a single lantern hanging near the wall threw weak light across the room.Marcus sat tied to a wooden chair in the centerBlood already stained the side of his mouth. One of the guards stood nearby breathing heavily from the last punch while another remained by the door waiting silently.Marcus lifted his head slowly as the door opened again. Andre stepped inside and the entire room stiffened immediately. He said nothing at first, his black coat remained soaked from the rain outside while traces of smoke still clung faintly to him… His expression looked calmer now but somehow worse than before.Marcus watched him carefully without speaking but one thing was fact from the way he trembled and it was the fact that he was scared.Andre walked closer. “Untie his mouth.”One guard pulled the cloth away roughly and Marcus spat blood onto the floor

No So Sweet Home. The rain had not stopped. It battered against the long estate windows while thunder rolled somewhere above the city, low and violent like the warning of something worse still coming.Andre stood near the fireplace with blood on his knuckles.Nobody in the room dared to speak while he stared at one of the guards who remained on the floor clutching the side of his face where Andre had slapped him moments earlier. Hard enough to split his lip open.“You lost them?” Andre asked quietly. That quietness terrified them more than shouting ever could. The men exchanged nervous glances.“We searched the docks again sir,” one finally answered carefully. “The fire spread too quickly and—”A glass bottle suddenly crashed against the wall beside him.Everyone flinched..Andre turned away sharply dragging a hand through his wet hair before violently shoving an entire tray from the nearby table.Bottles shattered across the marble floor instantly.“You let them escape,” he snapped.T

Smoke and Blood II“Move!” Marcus hissed again.Bella climbed the ladder first this time almost slipping halfway as smoke poured thicker into the basement opening.By now the warehouse above had already changed completely. The sharp smell of gasoline burned through the air while gray smoke curled violently across the ceiling beams.Aria came up behind her coughing instantly.“Oh Damn…”Outside somewhere glass shattered followed by shouting voices. Andre’s men were still nearby they could tell. It made the situation more tense.Marcus grabbed Eleanor’s arm roughly. “Back exit…Now.”Flames suddenly burst somewhere near the front wall as the fire spread frighteningly fast.Orange light exploded across the warehouse making the shadows jump wildly around them. Heat slammed into Bella’s face hard enough to sting her eyes.“Run!” Marcus barked. They moved instantly as a beam of wood cracked loudly overhead as they rushed between stacked crates and rusted shelves. Smoke thickened with ever

Smoke Without Fire.Nobody moved as the noise outside raged louder against the warehouse while Andre’s voice seemed to settle into the walls themselves.“Open it.” he ordered again.Marcus reacted first. “Basement… Now.”He grabbed a rusted hook hanging beside the shelves and yanked hard. Wooden crates scraped across the floor revealing a narrow hatch hidden beneath stained canvas.Aria stared. “There’s a basement here?” She stuttered, surprised.“There’s always a basement in places like this,” Marcus muttered sharply.Another knock thundered against the door. This one was harder making them jitter.“Quick." The man called out again.Bella’s pulse slammed painfully against her ribs as Eleanor moved first down the ladder without hesitation. Marcus motioned urgently for the girls to follow.“Hurry,” he urges.Bella climbed down after Aria just as another violent bang rattled the building. The underground space smelled of earth, mildew and old wood. It was barely tall enough to stand in f

Not All Storm…Burns. The rain came harder by the time Eleanor’s cart slipped through the estate gates. Thunder rolled above the city while water streaked violently across the windows, blurring the empty roads ahead of them. Inside nobody spoke for the first several minutes. Bella sat in the backseat beside Aria with her fingers curled tightly around Theo’s silver button. Her thoughts refused to settle. Every single thing felt wrong from the guard hearing them and Andre finding out so quickly, above it all was Lady Eleanor deciding to help them at all…None of it made sense anymore. Up front Eleanor remained calm, staring ahead as the driver maneuvered through the dark streets. “Do you trust this person?” Bella finally asked quietly. Eleanor’s eyes shifted slightly toward the mirror. “Enough.” “That doesn’t sound convincing.” she muttered. “Trust is a dangerous thing in this family,” Eleanor replied. “You give it carefully.” Aria glanced nervously toward the passing streets.

A Mistake?“Damn! Andre." He cussed as he stormed into the passageway that led to his wing.Theo found Amardi near the lower courtyard waiting with most of the servants long since withdrawn.Amardi stood with his hands clasped behind him, staring at nothing in particular. He did not turn when Theo

What Lingers in SilenceThe morning came quietly, almost too precise for a place that had known so much unrest the night before. It almost didn't feel like it even as the sunlight slipped through the tall windows in rays. Settling across the room in soft glitters. It brushed over the bed, over the
