"Get up from the floor you bastard." There is only one person who owns that annoying voice and I did not want to hear it right now or ever but Rylan never cared about what anyone wanted and that was the problem with him from the very beginning. I opened my eyes and the bright light made me close them back immediately. "Turn off the fucking light Rylan." "I met it on, and why are you lying on the floor in here… wait." I heard him sniffing the air and I already knew where this was heading before he opened his mouth again because Rylan never let anything go and he was always paying attention when he should have been minding his own business and this was going to be a whole conversation I did not have the energy for. "Who did you fuck in here? You didn't come to watch me play. Match ended two hours ago and you were busy fucking!" My head pounded harder with every word that came out of his mouth and I pressed the heel of my palm against my forehead and tried to push the pain back into whatever hole it had crawled out of but it was not going anywhere and neither was Rylan. "Just shut up for a second. My head hurts more hearing your voice." I must have drunk the whole bottle and I knew exactly whose fault it was. Damn that old man. I opened my eyes again and he had turned off most of the light and I could see him properly now and he was still wearing his jersey and his helmet was in his hand like he had come straight from the rink without stopping and his hair was pink. "Why the fuck did you dye your hair pink?" "Because I wanted to,” he shrugged as if that's the most reasonable answer. “And why is your private locker smelling like sex and…" he sniffed the air again. "Where did you get an omega to fuck? Don't tell me you sneaked in one of the watchers or did you finally agree to—" "You will not finish that statement." I glared at him and the anger was already boiling in my throat like bile and I did not need him or anyone else to remind me of what the old man wanted because I already knew and I had been refusing him for years and I would keep refusing him until the day I died. There is no way that old man is going to decide what I do with my life again and he has already taken enough and he keeps trying to take more and I keep pushing him back and it never ends and it will never end and that is the reason I drank the whole bottle in the first place and I was not going to explain that to Rylan or anyone else. First I must play hockey and I did and I made his damn school the highest in the country. Then he wants to use my life to become more powerful and he thinks I am still a child who does not see what he is doing and the joke is on him because I have been watching him for years and I know exactly what he is and what he wants and he will not get it from me. "Let's get out of here and stop asking stupid questions." I got up and my body was heavy. Rylan watched me arrange my jeans and my top because Rylan always watched and always noticed and that was the thing about him that made him useful and unbearable at the exact same time and I did not have the energy to decide which one he was tonight. "Coach wants to see you tomorrow though," he said as we were walking back to the main arena. "It's about the new students coming in tomorrow," Rylan added when I did not say anything and I already knew about the students and I was already ready to kick every single one of them out because I did not want them here and I did not want their fresh faces and their egos and their desperate need to prove something on my ice. There were just a few boys lingering around the arena since it was already late in the night and the Arctic Wolves won and I bet the club and bar were filled up now with bodies and noise and people celebrating a victory that should have been mine to celebrate too and instead I was walking back to my dorm with a headache and a smell I could not get out of my nose. But even as we walked toward my private dorm and Rylan said something else that I did not listen to because my head was too loud and my thoughts were too heavy and the cold air was not doing enough to clear anything out of my system. Vanilla cream. How did a female omega sneak into the private areas of the school and how did she disappear before I woke up and why could I still smell her on my skin even now with Rylan walking beside me and the cold air hitting my face and the headache still pounding behind my eyes and nothing making sense the way it was supposed to. I did not even remember her face and that was the thing that kept circling back and biting at the edges of my thoughts because I could remember the smell and I could remember the feel of her and I could remember something sweet and wrong and completely out of place. Damn that old man again and again for messing with my head and for pushing me into a bottle I should not have touched. I pressed two fingers against the side of my neck and exhaled slowly through my nose. I just pray I did not mark her and I have been praying it since I woke up on the floor and smelled her on my own skin and felt the soreness in my jaw that meant my teeth had done something I did not give them permission to do. Putting myself inside her was already a line I should not have crossed. But marking her, bonding her to me without her name or her face or a single thing I could use to find her in the morning, would not just be a complication. Marking her would be a catastrophe.🤍RAV🤍Theron's dorm hit me like stepping into a completely different universe the second he shoved the door open, warm lamplight spilling gold across walls plastered with photographs pinned up in no order whatsoever, him and his teammates mid-laugh with their arms slung over each other's shoulders, a golden retriever that had absolutely no business being on academy grounds, a lopsided trophy wedged between a stack of dog-eared comic books and an empty bag of chips he clearly hadn't bothered throwing away in days.Nothing about this room belonged to a monster. My chest actually loosened just standing in the doorway of it."Sorry for the mess." He dropped his bag and kicked a stray hoodie out of the walking path with the kind of practiced ease that told me this happened every single day, that he'd stopped apologizing for it years ago and only remembered the habit because I was standing here now. "Wasn't exactly expecting company.""It's fine." I lingered a beat too long in that doorwa
🤍RAV🤍Silence swallowed the whole rink for one full second, thick enough to feel against my skin, every player near the boards frozen mid-motion like the sound of my own voice had physically stopped time itself.Congratulations, Ravael. You just told the captain of the Arctic Wolves no, in front of his entire kingdom. Someone should really give me a medal, or maybe just a coffin, because I fully expected to be dead by morning either way.Zoren skated toward me slowly. Unhurried. The kind of pace a man only uses when he already believes the outcome has been decided in his favor, when the walk itself is meant to be part of the punishment, dragging out the dread before he even opens his mouth. My heart slammed hard against my ribs and I forced my spine straight anyway, forced my chin level with his instead of letting it drop the way it always wanted to drop whenever he got close enough to smell.Deep voice, Ravael. Alpha posture. Shoulders back, chin up, do not let this man see one sin
🤍RAV🤍The academy gates loomed dark against a sky already bleeding orange into purple by the time I dragged myself through them, my duffel bag slung heavy over one shoulder and every muscle in my body still humming with the ache of a full day spent sleeping instead of existing."Rav!"Theron's voice cut across the courtyard before I'd made it ten steps past the gate, and I turned to find him jogging toward me, his gold-tipped hair catching the last of the sunset light, his brow already pulled tight with something that looked a lot like actual worry."Where the hell have you been?" He stopped in front of me, breathing a little hard from the jog, his eyes sweeping over my face like he was cataloging every detail that had changed since he last saw me. "You missed every single class today. Coach was asking.""I needed to clear my head." I kept my voice steady, easy, the deep register slipping back into place like a coat I'd only briefly taken off."You okay?""Yeah." I held his gaze bec
🤍RAV🤍 Morning practice ended and I skated off that ice like my legs belonged to someone else. Hollowed out. Wrung completely dry from an entire night of crying into my own knees on cold aluminum bleachers with nobody around to hear a single sound I made. I never went back to the apartment. Not once. I could not make myself walk through that door and lie down on a rug four feet from the man who had pinned me to his bathroom wall and knotted me while completely out of his own mind, so I stayed on the ice instead. I stayed through the first team's warmup, hiding at the far end near the boards where nobody would notice a rookie who hadn't slept. I forced my own body through drills on legs that had absolutely nothing left to give, my thighs screaming with every stride, every check I took from an alpha twice my size landing like it was trying to finish what last night started. Hating Zoren Maveth had never once required effort. That part came easy, the way breathing came easy, autom
❄️ZOREN❄️The mattress dips under her weight first, before anything else, before I even see her clearly, her knee pressing into the sheet beside my hip and then the other one, and I feel the heat of her settle over me before her hands ever touch my chest. Her palms land flat against my sternum and slide down slow, mapping muscle like she's memorizing it, and when she finally lowers herself onto me I have to grab her hips just to keep from finishing right there.God.She takes me slow, inch by inch, her whole body shuddering around the stretch of it, and the sound that comes out of her throat is high and broken and completely unguarded. I want to hear it again. I chase it, rolling my hips up into her, and she gasps and grinds down harder like her body already knows exactly what mine wants before I've asked for it.Her short hair falls forward in loose curls that brush against my jaw when she leans down, and I fist a hand into it, dragging her mouth to mine. She tastes sweet, impossibly
🤍RAV🤍What the hell just happened?I stood there with my hand still pressed flat against my cheek, the food bag hanging forgotten from my fist, staring at the empty hallway where Theron had just disappeared like he hadn't done anything at all. Like a kiss on the cheek was nothing. Like it hadn't just short-circuited every thought in my head. It's nothing, Ravael. He's just like that. Warm. Handing out affection like loose change. He probably kisses half his own team on the cheek without a second thought.I almost believed it. Almost.I let myself into the apartment because standing in an empty hallway touching my own face was not a good look for anyone, alpha or otherwise. The sitting room was dark and silent and Zoren's absence hit me like a held breath finally let go — I'd just watched him and Rylan head out past me at the building door not twenty minutes ago, Rylan tossing a "hey rookie" over his shoulder while Zoren didn't even glance my way.Good. That meant hours, at least, be
🤍RAV🤍The memories came back in pieces and none of them were gentle about it. The weight of him. The cold of the locker. The sound of his belt. The way my body had responded before I could tell it not to and kept responding after I had already decided it should stop and the bite at the end of all
To the readers who want the unthinkable. You crave the unforgivable. You don't want the sweet alpha who asks permission. You want the one who takes. The one who doesn't know he's falling until he's already drowning. You hunger for men who are cold to the world but burn for one person al
🤍RAV🤍 "You are Rav Steele, is that correct?" The intimidating look on the coach's face when I gave him my letter from the admin the following day made my palms sweaty. He held the paper like he was inspecting it for lies and I supposed he was because every single word on that document was forge
🤍RAV🤍 I snuck into the school just to watch the infamous Arctic Wolves and the Ice Vipers play, and the energy on the ice was charged in a way that made my fingers curl against my thighs because I could not wait to prove myself tomorrow. I already got my admission letter folded in my back pocket
