Reuben hadn't stopped screaming when he felt his chord snap, it broke suddenly, leaving him falling half the height he had jumped, to a painful hard landing that would do no less damage to his body as if he were hit by a moving truck. However, luck was on his side, and he landed on the back of a truck carrying a bunch of cartons.
" Urgh... urgh... urgh, " Reuben gasped, feeling his body with his hands to make sure he was still alive, he was, at least he could still count his fingers, everything felt normal, until he tried to sit up, and then heard his back snap, " owwww, oww, ow, ow, " he grimaced, and finally got down from the truck, holding on to his aching back.

Bright lights shone against his eyes immediately he tried to open them, his hands could only block off so much of the blinding light that made him squint, and it took a few more seconds before they adjusted to it. But even though his eyes were open now, he still rubbed at them, doubtful of what stood before him. It looked like the center of a forest, there were tall trees all around, and he could hear the sounds of multiple birds flapping their wings high above the trees, at first he thought his mind played tricks on him, but the more he looked, the more real they appeared. Alice stared at the thug as he laid on the floor, still and unconscious. The only thing that assured her that he still had life in him was the in and out movement of his chest, she had only knocked the living day lights out of him, that wasn't enough to kill him, but it was sufficient to send him down to a long head throbbing nap, while she figured out a way to escape the nightmare that she was currently trapped in. She walked a few steps closer to him, just to make sure, he was as still as still could be, she had knocked him out cold, she quickly placed the gun on the drawer and pressed both hands against her mouth, as if shocked at her own actions. Reuben and Susan stared at Sunday through the perfectly clean and transparent doors of his hospital room. It had been two days since the explosion, the affairs at the white baker were slowly getting back to normal, and as expected, the CSS had blamed the explosion on a terrorist attack. However, funds had been given to the hotel's management, and repairs had already commenced, but the people were still shaken from the incident, a couple of people had been hurt, some even worse than others, plenty were obviously still shaken, and while the repairs were still ongoing, the authorities adviced that no one visited the hotel, at least not in the mean time. Like Sunday, Paul had been badly hurt, but he responded well to treatment, a nurse had reported he even said a few words the night before, but almost immediately he slipped back into unconsciousness. Some nurses gathered round Sunday, three of them to be exact, they mumbled a few things, none of which he could hear, or even anyone else for that matter. Then after a while, one of them left, and almost immediately after, the second nurse nodded to the last nurse, before she equally left, the remaining nurse knew what she had to do, she took one look at Sunday and then fixed her eyes on his IV, her job was simple, all she had to do, was kill him. The next minute she turned around, and it looked like she was heading for the door, when she stopped, reached in for the curtains by the doors, and pulled them over the transparent glass. With a cunning demeanor, she sashayed towards Sunday who rested helplessly on his bed. She pulled out a pair of handgloves, and fitted them perfectly onto her fingers, then she reached for a syringe, and afterwards, dipped her hand into her pocket and brought out a tiny bottle, she sucked the content of the bottle with the sy

Alice had tried figuring out a way to escape ever since they trapped her inside the room. She knew they would be back soon, or at least she hoped they would come back. She looked up at the old clock on the wall, it was riddled with cobwebs, but she could still make out the time, it was eight in the evening. For the past nine hours she hadn't seen anyone, it was almost as if no one was coming. She had tried listening for foot steps or even faint voices, but nothing. The room was dirty indeed. But there were still a few old things she could put to good use, like the cutlass she had found by the broken down cupboard for instance, or pieces from a shattered mirror, she wrapped a large piece of dirty cloth at the end of the broken mirror.
