View More“Janelle, Isa, RUN!” The Luna screams at me and her daughter. We don’t move an inch, too scared of the sight before us.
“Isa, I said RUN! That’s an order. Take Janelle and warn the Alpha.” The Luna yells, looking me in the eyes. She ordered me. I’m compelled to move. I grab my best friend's hand, and she screams at me to let her go. She wants to stay with her mother.
As we run I hear her screams over and over again, and I know we will be too late. The rogues came out of nowhere, and we were taken by surprise. I can’t mindlink because I haven’t got my wolf yet.
“DADDY! DADDY!” Janelle yells when we are within earshot. We are both covered in rogue blood, and a sight to see.
“Princess!” He yells back, completely ignoring my presence.
I wake in a sweat in my tiny shoe closet room. It was converted after the incident with the Luna. The dream is always the same. How we are surprised out in the clearing in the forest. She had taken me and Janelle to have a girls picnic, when suddenly the rogues came out of nowhere.
After the attack and the death of Luna Michelle, the Alpha took it out on me. He blamed me for the whole thing and for abandoning his Luna midst the attack, knowing full well that I could never go against a direct order from her. I might be a beta’s daughter, but she was still my superior. And I was ten years old at the time.
For the last eight years my life took a turn to hell. The Alpha became angry and cruel, especially towards me. Janelle, who had been my best friend in childhood, hated me as well for dragging her ass back to the pack - completely overlooking the fact that I saved her miserable life in the process. She became everything her mother had taught her not to be; self centered, snobbish and a bratty bitch. She became one of my biggest tormentors, even turning my own brother against me.
Yes, I have a brother. A twin to be exact - a younger twin. His name is Alex, and he is one son of a bitch. The bitch being my cold and distant mother. She and my father disowned me a year after Luna Michelle died, seeing how the Alpha behaved. He named me an omega, the lowest of the low, even though he couldn’t do that. He had no power in naming an innocent child to lose her status, and the elders denied him to do so. So, even to this day I am still a beta in rank, but treated like a rogue or infested individual.
My parents moved me out of my room upstairs, saying I was the shame of the family and I could now live in the shoe closet under the stairs. My only response was to roll my eyes and move my things.
They all stopped being my family the moment they refused to protect me from the Alpha’s craziness.
I had a little revenge a couple of months ago though; they had taken me and Alex out to buy him a new car. Clearly taking me to flaunt the fact that he got something major and I wouldn’t. Taking into account they both tried their hardest to show a good face out to the human world of being the perfect parents. So when the sales assistant asked what I wanted, I looked at my parents who became flustered, not counting on that question. They couldn’t tell him they weren’t getting me anything, already having told him we were twins and their youngest needed a new car. Fucking idiots.
So, I got a new car as well. And I was smart that day - I had the assistant talk them into signing it in my name, because my 18th birthday at the time was only a month away.
It was all worth the beating when we came home. Honestly, their hits and kicks don't even face me anymore. The one good thing from this was that no one ever paid much attention to my coming and going. So, without anyone’s knowledge I started in a dojo in town, earning three different black belts over the course of four years - perks of being a werewolf.
I never used it on anyone at the pack, but I will need it when I leave.
My birthday is tomorrow, but at midnight my wolf will come to me, and we will shift tomorrow evening. Before that, though, I am going to get the hell out of here. I refuse to stay in a pack of mutts and abusers.
“Wakey wakey, little wolf.” Alex says from outside of my closet door, not knowing I’ve been up for the last several hours due to my dream. I’m sitting outside on the porch, but I can hear him clear as day. The evil undertone in his voice doesn’t bode well.
“What the fuck.” He says when he opens the door, and my room is empty.
“Did you want something, brother dear?” I asked from behind him. He jumps in surprise, and turns around with a sneer.
“There you are. I need to get some excess energy out, and you are going to help me. You and I are going to spar.” He says with a smirk. I roll my eyes.
“Yeah, you keep on dreaming little brother. I will do no such thing. Think of the shame of showing your parents a broken nose.” I say back, as I shove by him. I already showered, ate and got ready. Knowing I was shit out of luck in the eating department if I didn’t do it before people in this hell house woke up.
“I don’t have time for your foolishness. Why don’t you beat that idiot of an alpha-to-be to a pulp instead?” I ask with an eye roll, as I walk out the door with my school bag.
Alex growls at my insult to his best friend and alpha-to-be Jefferson or Jeff for short. He is almost as big an asshat as my brother and Janelle put together. I wave a hand before jumping into my car.
Nothing is getting in the way of me getting my graduation papers today, even though it’s a week early. I finished everything already, and I want it so I can get the hell out of here tonight.
Over the next few days, TNN and countless other media went crazy over the Silverman case. William Silverman resigned as the CEO of Silverman Corporation, liquidated his shares and sold the Silverware to an up and coming startup company from Silicon Valley. The name Thomas Silverman became the most searched for words in the search engine and just about everyone had a story to tell about the mysterious murderous twin. Some claimed to have seen him playing in the slums as a child, others swore they had bumped into him at a prestigious boarding school in Europe and yet a few others would say he had been kept locked up in a bunker as a sexual slave to his crazed mother. Thomas Silverman was swiftly given a life sentence without parole while his mother was slapped with a house arrest of 3 years for physical, emotional and mental abuse of her sons. Williams was set free on a hefty bail and seemingly disappeared from the limelight. He neither ca
Someone was crying.Am I dead?Rebecca’s hand twitched and all of a sudden, she felt a pair of cold hands clamping onto hers.“She’s awake!” a voice squealed.I know that voice.“Rebecca! Honey!” another voice.Mom?She finally opened her eyes with great difficulty and to her delight, she was greeted by the faces of her loved ones – her mom, John, Jean and Sam. There was even a bouquet of bougainvillaea on the overbed table.Oh, so I’m not dead.On her left, holding tightly onto her free hand was her mother, sobbing uncontrollably. She smiled weakly at her mother, feeling her lips crack in the process. She needed a drink. Her throat hurt. Come to think of it, her whole body and head hurt.“Where am I?” she managed to croak out. Her mother cried even louder. The
The wooden door burst open to the brilliance of white light, momentarily blinding both Rebecca and Thomas.“Hands in the air!”John? Rebecca could not believe her ears. A huge wave of relief washed over her trembling body. Surely she wasn’t dreaming? Her eyes had yet to adjust to the sudden light from the room above, all she could make out was a few silhouettes descending the staircase and it looked like they were carrying guns.Rebecca’s relief was short-lived for Thomas was not giving up - in one swift motion, he grabbed her by the neck and spun her around, using her as a shield of some sort.“Come any closer and I’ll kill her!” he screamed, his arm tightening around her neck cutting her source of air supply.Great, not again. His grip was hard and she had trouble breathing but she was sure he did not have any weapon that would be able to outfight a gun. Ne
“Mrs Silverman, hurry!” Rebecca gasped and wheezed as she tried to pull the dazed woman up from the floor to no avail. Thomas lay facedown, unmoving but Rebecca was not taking any chances. A little puddle of blood formed around his head but she doubted he was dead. The older woman held her hands towards her neck, cradling it. “He tried to kill me…” she whispered hoarsely, rocking herself back in forth, still in shock.“My own son tried to kill me…my little Tommy…”“Ahh, yes, “Rebecca answered exasperatedly. “That he did, and that is why we must get out of here! I doubt he’ll be out for long,” Rebecca pulled at Mrs Silverman’s elbow again. For an elderly woman, she was quite heavy. Rebecca was having trouble helping her up.She kept glancing back and forth between the stairway and Thomas. They had to hurry! Th
