Jason's POV

"What!?" Mom exclaimed.

I stared at her in confusion at first, thinking about it. Then it suddenly made sense. If it was someone really pulling all the strings, then they wouldn't want to reveal their identity. Could it be-?

"Thank you so much!" I muttered and quickly drove off.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Mom said, stirring restlessly on her seat.

"What are you thinking?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"I'm thinking it could be Aliyah. She could be trying to make a comeback at us."

"Just calm down. We could still catch the bitch! The lady said she saw her not quite long, that means she can't have gotten home. If you increase your speed, we could get home before her and catch her.".

I sped up the car, and as I drove through the driveway, I almost forgot to kill the car's engine before I got out of the car. I pushed the door open and went straight to Kelan's room.

"I'll go check her room!" Mom called behind me.
