Chapter Thirty Eight

Michael paused after his sister told him that Victor had also been captured, and separated from the rest of the captives.

"My priority now is to get you out of this place." He ignored her and continued heading for the door.

"No, what about Victor?" Jocelyn asked.

"He can take care of himself."

Jocelyn struggled in his arms. "Put me down! I won't leave him behind!" She protested.

Michael sighed. "Why the hell do you care about that moron?" He was beginning to tire of his sister's tantrums.

"He saved my life," she replied weakly.

After releasing the rest of the captives, Irene walked up to Michael. "We can't leave now. Not until I find my team," she said.

"Is that Irene?" Jocelyn asked, surprised to see her brother's ex.

Irene brushed the strands of hair covering Jocelyn's face. "Hey, darling. We're going to get you out, I promise."

"Yeah, thanks," she replied.
