Chapter Thirty Five

After several minutes, they arrived at Wolventin Castle and were greeted by Michael's parents - they had been worried sick after hearing that their daughter-in-law was attacked in her place of work.

"Hey, darling. How are you doing?" Mrs. Wolf asked Evelyn after she stepped out of the car.

"I'm fine, ma'am," she replied to her mother-in-law.

Mrs. Wolf hugged her affectionately. "I'm glad that you are alright."

"I'm glad too," Evelyn replied.

Mrs. Wolf held her cheeks. "You look pale. I'm not sure you've eaten, have you?"

"No, I haven't since this morning."

"Thankfully, dinner is ready. Let's go inside," she held Evelyn's hand.

Mr. Wolf walked up to Evelyn and patted her shoulder. "You did well," he said as he made way for Evelyn and his wife to enter the castle.

Michael went back to his car to pick up his phone when his father came up to him.

"Did you learn why Don took a risk to attack Evelyn at St. Anne's Hospital?" Mr. Wolf asked his son.
