ENID'S POV

“Enid!!”

His voice hit me like a punch to the chest.

Alexander stumbled in just before the doors sealed, breathing hard, his eyes wide with shock.

He looked wrecked, as fuck. His hoodie zipped high, his hair messy under the cap, dark circles under his eyes, a faint bruise still shadowing his jaw from the club fight. He stared at me like I was a ghost, hand half-reaching before he caught himself.

I felt my heart do something stupid, flip and tighten all at once. And I hated it.

“Enid… what are you doing here?” he whispered, voice rough, like he hadn’t used it in days. He took a small step forward, his fingers twitching like he wanted to touch me, make sure I was real.

I pulled my arm back before he could, shifting to the corner. My back hit the wall with a soft thud. I kept my face blank, earpod still in one ear, hoodie shadowing my eyes.

He looked me up and down, taking in the plain black hoodie, the joggers, the trainers. No watch, no jewellery, nothing expensive. His g

  • MARRIED TO MY ARROGANT ENEMY   Chapter 55 – The Fall

Alexander’s POV“Come for me, Alex!”The words were a command, low and rough in my ear, and my body obeyed before my mind could even register the plea. It shattered me completely. My back arched off the mattress, a silent cry tearing from my throat as pleasure crashed over me in waves I couldn’t control or comprehend. I came, hard, hot and messy, every muscle locking, every nerve on fire. The sheer intensity of it seemed to drag him with me—I felt him thrust deep one last time, heard the broken, shuddering groan vibrate against my neck as he followed me over the edge. Then, nothing.Nothing but the ragged sound of our breathing, tangled together in the quiet, dark room.He collapsed on top of me, heavy and warm, pinning me to the damp sheets.I didn’t push him away. I couldn't. My arms moved of their own accord, wrapping around the solid expanse of his back, holding him close as if he were the only anchor in a storm I’d created. My face pressed into the sweaty heat of his neck, and

  • MARRIED TO MY ARROGANT ENEMY    CHAPTER 54

ENID'S POVI let my finger continue its slow path downward, over the tense ridges of his stomach. His skin was hot under my touch, every muscle drawn tight as a bowstring. He didn’t speak. He just watched, his breath coming in short, sharp bursts. So beautiful like this, I thought. All that pride, that arrogance, reduced to this waiting, trembling thing.“I want to hear you say it again,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. My hand splayed flat against his lower abdomen, feeling the muscles jump. “Tell me what you want.”He licked his lips. “You know what I want.”“I do,” I agreed, my fingers dipping just below the waistband of his joggers. He sucked in a sharp breath. “But I want to hear you beg for it. Properly this time.”A war played out on his face. It was shame and need. A final, futile flicker of defiance. It was the defiance I wanted to crush.“Enid, please…”“Please, what?” I prompted, my thumb hooking under the fabric, not pulling, just resting there. A promise, and a t

  • MARRIED TO MY ARROGANT ENEMY   CHAPTER 53

ENID'S POV His kiss was a raw, frantic thing. All heat and clumsy pressure, his lips moving against mine with a desperation that stole my breath. His hands were rough and warm—slid under my shirt, his palms skating over my bare stomach, my back. The cool wall pressed against my shoulders as he pushed into me. A gasp tore from his throat, ragged and hungry, and then he broke away.He pulled back just an inch, his forehead almost touching mine, as his chest. His eyes, wide and dark in the dim light, searched my face, waiting for… permission? A sign? The sheer, shameful need in them was shocking."Oh, you are truly broken now," I thought, my own heart hammering against my ribs.I was surprised. I knew he was capable of this, driven by pride and lust, but I hadn’t thought he was this desperate. This far gone.He leaned in again, eyes dropping to my lips, drawn like a magnet. But this time, I didn’t let him. My hands came up, my palms flat against his chest, stopping him firmly. He fro

  • MARRIED TO MY ARROGANT ENEMY   CHAPTER 52

ENID'S POVThe taxi ride back to the hotel was a silent, heavy thing. The quiet wasn’t mine, it was his. It pressed in from his side of the backseat, thick and suffocating.Alex had practically glued himself to the door, his body angled away from me, a tense line of shame from his hunched shoulders to his clenched jaw. He stared fixedly out the window at the blur of the city, but I saw the way his throat worked, the subtle tremble in the hand resting on his knee. I took up my own space, my legs spread wide, an arm slung along the back of the seat. The contrast was deliberate. My calm to his storm.Back then in the park, he’d tried to dust himself off in the park, his movements jerky, embarrassed. He’d opened his mouth to speak, to defend himself maybe, but I’d just turned and walked away. He followed, of course. He always followed now.My gaze drifted to his hands again. The knuckles were reddened, a faint scrape on one. He was trying to hide them, tucking them between his thighs. T

ENID'S POV “What?” Alex's voice were high.Heads turned around due to his noise, and I could see the embarsment on his eyes. “I only ordered the… the appetizer.”He whispered, turning to me and that was when he saw I was actually looking.I kept a straight face, then kept my fork down, staring blankly at him, but deep down I was worried about him. Was the hell was he screaming over a £250 bill?“Yes, sir. The egg salad is eighty-five pounds. The artisanal bread basket is one hundred and sixty-five. It’s imported sourdough, baked daily with…”The waiter explained, maintaining the smile. Alex face fell, as he eyes wandered to me then me shifts it back, to the waiter. His fingers trembled as he pulled my debit card from its slot. The plastic felt flimsy, worthless. He held it out, and the waiter took it with a practiced swipe. The machine whirred, printed a slip, the he scribbled a shaky signature, not even looking at the total, and I could tell his entire body felt cold and detach

  • MARRIED TO MY ARROGANT ENEMY   CHAPTER 50

I was holding my breath, and I realized it only when a sharp ache in my chest made me gasp, a ragged sound that tore through the silence of my suite. I let out the air, my whole body slumping, and dropped my head into my hands. He had taken over everything, and he had won, now I was just now noticing the scale of it all.The absolute completeness of my defeat.I wiped the cold sweat from my forehead with a trembling hand, immediately as I looked up.And there's was Enid, he didn't say another word. He just turned, a clean, dismissive movement, and began walking toward the elevator, and fuck, his back was a straight, unforgiving line.My heart clenched tightly, and I couldn’t let him just walk away. Not again, I pushed off from the wall, my legs feeling like water, and quickened my pace to follow him. “Wait,” I called, my voice too thin. “Enid, what do you say? Can I… can I go with you?”He didn’t stop walking. He just sighed, a long, frustrated sound that seemed to fill the whole co
