I'm having coffee at a café near Ocean's office when I see him walking down the street.

Perfect timing.

I wave to get his attention. He sees me and for a second I think he might keep walking. But his manners are too ingrained. He comes over.

"Willow. What are you doing here?"

"Just having coffee. Join me?" I gesture to the empty chair across from me.

"I'm on my way to a meeting."

"Five minutes. Please. I promise I won't keep you long."

He hesitates, then sits down. But he doesn't order

  • MARRIED TO MY EX-FATHER IN LAW.   HIS WIFE IS UNTOUCHABLE

Third Person POV Ocean sits in his office the morning after the Romano event with Daniel and Lilo. Between them on the desk are files on four families. Four men whose wives attacked Lola. "I want them cut off completely," Ocean says. His voice is calm. Cold. "No exceptions." Daniel nods and opens the first file. "Anton Kozlov. Elena's husband. He runs three gambling operations in East London under our protection. Annual revenue split is sixty-forty in our favor." "Was sixty-forty. Now it's zero. Revoke his license to operate in our territory. Effective immediately." "That's going to put him out of business," Lilo points out. "Those gambling halls are his primary income." "Good. Maybe his wife will think twice before attacking someone under my protection." Ocean leans back in his chair. "What else does he have?" "He's part of a shipping consortium. Moves luxury goods through the ports. We provide security and customs facilitation." "Remove him from the consortium. Find someone

  • MARRIED TO MY EX-FATHER IN LAW.   HIS PRECIOUS LITTLE WIFE

I'm having breakfast at the Savoy when I get the call from Marina. "Willow, you need to hear what happened at the Romano gathering last night after you left." I set down my croissant, immediately alert. "What happened? I thought about staying for long but decided against it." "Well, you missed quite the show." Marina's voice is gleeful in that way people get when they have juicy gossip. "Ocean Moretti completely destroyed four families in front of everyone." My stomach drops. "What? Why?" "Because they went after his precious little wife." Marina launches into the story. How some women cornered Lola and said terrible things to her. How Ocean found her crying. How he brought her back to the main room and publicly cut off their families from his organization. I listen with growing dread. "And Willow, you should have seen him. He was ice-cold. Absolutely terrifying. He pulled Lola close and told the entire room that she's his wife and anyone who disrespects her disrespects him." M

  • MARRIED TO MY EX-FATHER IN LAW.   I LOVE YOU

I walk to my room in a daze. My lips are still tingling from Ocean's kisses. My body is still humming with want. Every nerve ending feels alive, electric, aching for more. But he stopped. Again. I close my bedroom door behind me and lean against it, trying to catch my breath. Trying to process everything that just happened. Ocean loves me. He actually said it. Out loud. No ambiguity. No room for misinterpretation. He loves me. And he kissed me like he meant it. Like he's been dying to do it for weeks. Like I'm everything he's ever wanted. But then he stopped. I slide down to sit on the floor, my expensive dress pooling around me, and try to figure out how I feel about that. Part of me is frustrated. Angry even. Because we're married. We love each other. Why shouldn't we be together in every way? Why does he keep putting up these barriers? But another part of me, a part I don't want to acknowledge but can't ignore, knows he's probably right. I am emotional. I did have the w

  • MARRIED TO MY EX-FATHER IN LAW.   KISSING LOLA

OCEAN'S POV Kissing Lola is both heaven and hell. Heaven because she tastes like whiskey and something sweet that's just her. Because her hands are in my hair and she's making these little sounds that drive me crazy. Because having her in my arms, finally, after weeks of wanting, feels so right it's almost painful. Hell because I know I have to stop. I know this isn't the right time. I know she's emotional and vulnerable and reacting to what happened tonight. But god, it's hard to care about any of that when she's kissing me like this. Her lips are soft. Eager. She's pressing closer to me on the couch, her body warm against mine. One of my hands is on her waist, the other cupping her face, and I'm kissing her like I'm trying to make up for all the times I should have kissed her but didn't. Weeks of tension. Weeks of wanting. Weeks of fighting what I feel. All of it pouring into this kiss. She tastes like tears and whiskey and hope. She feels perfect in my arms. Like she was ma

  • MARRIED TO MY EX-FATHER IN LAW.   WHEN

Ocean's forehead is resting against mine. We're so close I can feel his breath on my lips. His hand is cupping my face, thumb gently stroking my cheek. "It's real," he just said. "At least for me." At least for me. My heart is racing so fast I think it might explode. "You love me?" I whisper. Needing to hear him say it clearly. Needing to know I didn't misunderstand. "Yes." His voice is rough. Raw. "God help me, yes. I love you." The words crash over me like a wave. Ocean Moretti loves me. This powerful, incredible man who just destroyed four families without blinking, who commands respect from everyone he meets, who could have anyone he wants. He loves me. "I love you too," I say. "I've loved you for so long. Even when you pushed me away. Even when I thought I shouldn't. Even when it hurt." "Lola..." I don't let him finish. I close the tiny distance between us and kiss him. For a second, he freezes. Like he's surprised. Like he didn't expect me to do this. Then his hand t

  • MARRIED TO MY EX-FATHER IN LAW.   WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION

OCEANS POV I pour Lola a glass of whiskey and hand it to her. Her hands are still shaking slightly as she takes it. She looks exhausted. Emotionally wrung out. The ruined makeup, the tear-stained face, the trembling hands. All evidence of what those women did to her tonight. And I let it happen. I wasn't paying attention. Wasn't watching her closely enough. Let her get cornered and destroyed while I was talking business with Vincent. That won't happen again. Ever. I pour myself a glass and sit down next to her on the couch. Close enough that I can feel her presence but not so close that I'm crowding her. We're both quiet for a moment. The office feels different with her in it. Softer somehow. Like having her here changes the entire energy of the space. "Those women hurt you tonight," I start. "Badly. And I need you to understand something. What they said was wrong. All of it. Every single word." "Ocean..." "Let me finish. Please." I need to say this. All of it. Before I los
