*HIDDEN BAR* Olivia has been avoiding Mason’s gaze since they got out of her dad’s office. She was still very embarrassed of what had happened in her dad’s office. To Olivia, the jacket had an irresistible smell, the smell kind of matched Mason’s personality and she was drawn in. She was glad that her dad didn’t drag out the matter for too long. Nevertheless, she still couldn’t look into Mason’s eyes. She had glanced at the clock earlier because it seems like It was too early for lunch but the clock proved her wrong. “Are you hot?” A voice pulled her out of her thoughts. It took her a few seconds to realize she was sweating. Does he even have to ask? of course, she was hot. All that face-off and scolding from her dad really got her worked up. She had wanted to remove the jacket but after what happened in her dad’s office, revealing herself in just a crop top would make her feel like she was naked. “No.” Olivia lied. He said nothing as they got to the parking lot, walked to a bla
*HIDDEN BAR* Olivia was currently sitting in the passenger seat beside Ace who was driving while Derek was in the backseat. She had confronted Ace on how it was illegal to drink and drive. Ace was amused and told her that’s not how alcohol works. He got excited as he claimed to tell Olivia how alcohol works. He talked and talked till Olivia zoned out because she couldn’t perceive any sense from all he was spitting. The car stopped some minutes later and taking that as her cue, she unbuckled her seat belt and planned to open the door when it was opened from the outside by Ace. She thanked him and got down. “You can go in by yourself, right?” He asked. “Yes.” She answered. “Good, see you tonight.” He said before going back to get in the car. “Bye.” She murmured not sure he heard her as he drove off speedily which made her realized he must have been deliberately driving slow when she was in the car. She walked into the building before remembering that the access card given to
*THE DON* It’s been two days since the whole emotional conversation with Peter. It was Wednesday and Olivia looked at the time to see it was exactly 12:00PM. It’s been a week since her grandma’s death and as much as she tried not to think about her all the time, she was starting to accept that she was really dead and she won’t see her again. She stood from the couch and went to stand in front of her bed staring at the newly added pictures. That was what Peter had surprised her with. Turns out the pictures that had her and her grandmother in it which she had searched hard for in her previous home and couldn’t find has been in Peter’s possession. It was when Olivia entered her room and saw two enlarged framed picture against the wall above her bed, the first one was of Olivia and her grandmother, it was the picture her grandmother had handed to Peter and it was in that picture that he first saw what his daughter looked like. The second one was of her own mother, it has been with P
*THE DON* “Take her!” The man with the scar ordered and Olivia held on tight to Isabella. One of the men moved forward grabbing her arm to pull her but she didn’t let her go. “She’s a little girl. You can’t do this to a child.” Olivia finally spoke. “Well, who’s gonna stop me, you?” He asked mockingly and yanked Isabella away from her while the little girl winced at the impact. “Only a monster would handle a child the way you just did. You won’t get away with this.” She snapped at him. The thing with her was that she’s really not the type to speak up but when in these kind of situations, her mouth runs on its own and it would be too late before she even knows what she was saying. “Says who?” He smirked. “Now that I look at you, I feel like taking you with me.” And that was how her confidence sank as she immediately scrambled away from him but he held her arms and yanked her up. Derek’s mom continued struggling with them to let her daughter go. “Where do you think you’re going?
*THE MISSION* Mason was at home sleeping away when Curtis burst into his room. He had told him several times not to do that again but the guy will never learn. He’s lucky he was the Don’s right hand or else Mason would have disposed him off a long time ago. The scar on Curtis’ face was given to him by Peter as a gift for slapping one of his trusted employees. Even with that, he still never learned his lesson. He acts all high and mighty as Leonel’s right hand man forgetting that the real second-in -command was Peter. “I’ve fucking told you not to ever-” “Whatever. The Don just ordered that the ‘warning trip’ be handled by you and your friends.” Curtis interrupted him. Mason got up and crossed the room towards him. He spoke when he was directly in front of Curtis. “Firstly, don’t you ever and I mean ever interrupt me again when I’m speaking, understood?” “Sure.” He answered reluctantly. “Secondly, the warning trip was handed to you, wasn’t it?” He asked. “Change of plans.” H
*THE BLAST* “W-wait. Ace?” Derek called. “Yes?” “Is he supposed to bleed from the head if he was shot on the arm?” Derek asked with wide eyes. “Fucking dumb-heads.” Mason said in his mind. “No dumbo, can’t believe you are so stup- wait, he’s bleeding in the head?” Mason already knew that. He could feel the blood sliding down his face. “Fuck, he has a cut on his head.” Derek cursed as he checked his wound. “It’s not that deep though, I think you bleed easily.” Derek added with a smirk. Mason swore in his mind to pay the two back once he was okay, they thought it was funny to joke about what’s giving him pain. But then again, he knew that if he was the one in Ace’s or Derek’s shoe, his own teasing would have been much more than theirs. And he knows they were just trying to keep him conscious and engaged till they get to safety so he wasn’t really angry at all. “I think we are clear now, right?” Ace asked. “Seems so. Don’t stop though, just go straight to the nearest hospital.
*NO ONE* Everywhere was silent as fear was evident on everyone’s faces except the Don who looked calm as he sat down. Peter was there with two of his men behind him. “Did I just hear you right?” Curtis asked. “I wouldn’t speak if I were you.” Carlos warned him. That definitely fell into deaf ears. “You have two daughters which we all know of, so where did she come from?” “Did you just question me?” Peter asked while walking closer to Curtis and the more Peter got closer to him, the more his eyes widens before he lowered his eyes and averted his gaze. “I thought as much .” Peter said before backing away and went towards Olivia. He placed both hand on her shoulder gently and pecked her forehead. “Are you okay?” He asked. “Yes.” Olivia answered feeling relieved. That means Olivia was right, they did know each other and now she felt stupid for not speaking up. “This must be Olivia.” The Don spoke as he stood up and moved towards the father and daughter. “Wow, she’s so pretty.”
*NO ONE* One of the men narrated what happened and the three best friends became livid, all for different reasons. Derek because he thought of how traumatized his sister will be and he also felt guilty in the case of Olivia because he took her to the cafe. Ace because he felt pained that he wasn’t there for Olivia, for him, protecting her was his responsibility. And mason because he knew that there was no way Curtis doesn’t know that Derek’s mom owned that cafe. Mason also suspected that Curtis acted on his own because what he did was very low, they do not operate like that, it was like the whole thing was orchestrated by him. “Curtis, did you actually slapped my sister?” Ace shouted in anger. “Yes, I did. She bit me.” Curtis answered immediately without a trace of remorse. “You think this is a joke? Do you even know how I’m feeling right now?” “I don’t have a sister. How am I supposed to know how you feel ?” Curtis said smugly. “Did you even feel bad about hitting her?” “She
