CHAPTER 6: MY NEW UNCLE

~ALLISON

Jason's trousers hung below his waistline, his back turned to me. Despite the angle, it was evident from his thrusting hips that he was fuckin having sex with…Samantha?

Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision as I watched them. They seemed entirely absorbed in the moment, oblivious to my presence until I wailed.

"JASON!"

Jason broke apart abruptly, snapping his head in my direction. He hastily pulled up his pants, his face draining of color at the sight of me.

"Allie, is that you?" Samantha slurred, trying to steady herself as she got down from the sink. She looked obviously drunk.

"Allie, I can explain—" Jason started, picking his steps towards me.

I shoved him away before he could touch me. Tears of anger streamed down my cheeks as I cut in, "Explain what exactly? That you've just fucked my cousin?!"

“Allison?" I heard Landon's voice from behind me, he is probably here to remind me about the upcoming toast but I completely ignored him. Jason was my main focus.

"It was all a mistake, I didn't mean to," Jason pleaded.

His words stung. Did he even realize how broken I would feel before he went on with his actions? He clear–eyed fucked Samantha and called it a mistake?!

At that moment, an idea suddenly popped into my head.

Fine!

Then he should watch me do this!

Turning abruptly, I grabbed Landon and kissed him passionately. It was a brief kiss, but it was deep enough to satisfy my vengeance, a tad bit though.

I faced Jason, my smile bitter. "That was also a mistake," I admitted.

His hands clenched into fists at his sides. The anger in his eyes threatened to incinerate me, but I didn't care anymore. I turned and hurried out, tears stinging my eyes.

The pain in my chest grew suffocating as I reached the main hall. I must have ruined my makeup, judging by the glances from other guests.

Feeling embarrassed, I shuffled out of the hall. Rushing to the car park, I located my mom's car. Thankfully, it was unlocked, so I slipped inside.

My shoulders slumped heavily as I released all my pent-up emotions, venting my anger on the glove compartment.

Before now, I've always had a sneaking feeling Jason was cheating on me—His recent weird mixed scent pointed outrightly at the possibilities but my head was too filled up with his delusional love that I became retard to entertain the thought.

Tears profusely cascaded down my cheeks as I berated myself, pounding the glove compartment harder.

"You're such a fool, Allison. Such a fool for falling for him,"

The door on the opposite side suddenly opened, and Landon stepped inside. I shot him a frown.

"Are you okay?" he asked, meeting my eyes.

I looked away, wiping my tears with my thumb. "It's time to drop your facade. You don't need to pretend like you care when we're alone,"

"Fine, suck it up already," he snapped.

Provoked, I met his gaze again, glaring. "What are you even doing here? Get down!"

His expression darkened, but he calmly replied, "I'm taking you home—"

"No, I won't allow that!"

"Do you have someone else to take you home? Because as far as I know, you can't drive!" he fired back.

He wasn't wrong about my lack of driving skills, but earlier, I had planned for Jason to take me home and then ride him…until everything fell apart.

As I stayed quiet, he ignited the engine, starting the car. Right then, my phone rang

Spotting Mom's name on the caller ID, I picked it up and swiped green.

"Darling, are you alright? You didn't show up to take the toast," Mom's worried voice came through the phone. Unsure of what to say, I nervously bit my lower lip.

Mom had always been skeptical about my relationship with Jason, and I knew she'd scold me even more if I told her the truth about my absence. Right now, I needed comfort, not a scolding—and she definitely wouldn't give me that."I had a bit of a stomach issue and had to use the restroom, I'm sorry,"

"Oh my, are you alright? I should call a doctor—"

"You don't need to. I'm fine. I just need some rest," I interrupted, letting out a sigh.

"Are you sure? You don't sound good," Mister Gary chimed in. He beat me to it as I was about assuring him everything was fine. "Is your brother giving you a hard time?"

Instead of replying, I glanced at Landon, meeting his eyes briefly before quickly looking away.

"Kinda," I finally replied. From the rearview mirror, I noticed his brows furrowed at my response.

"That punk. Fine, I will get someone to come look after you both to avoid any more trouble from him," he said.

At first, I scowled at his reply, but then I realized they wouldn't be in town for the next two weeks. Mom had mentioned their honeymoon plans before, but it slipped my mind.

"Thanks, D-Dad," I replied, feeling a bit awkward.

I hadn't quite gotten used to calling him Dad yet, so my tone sounded a bit awkward. I could hear Mom chuckling softly in the background, probably noticing my discomfort.

"Take care, Allie," Mom said before ending the call.

Letting out a sigh, I stole a glance at Landon through the rearview mirror. I couldn't make out his expression but he didn't seem upset about my slander as he kept his focus on the road.

Now, I feel like a complete fool.

The car was filled with silence throughout the ride, and I busied myself with cleaning up my makeup. Feeling relieved Landon didn't bring up the kiss.

****

I lay half-awake on my stomach in the cozy bed, which could easily fit a family of three. The warm sun rays peeking through the thick curtains cladding the ceiling-to-floor window indicated that morning had arrived, but I stubbornly refused to get up, as if denying the reality of my world.

Thanks to my expulsion from college, I could stay in bed all day without feeling guilty about skipping classes.

Shielding my eyes from the sunlight, I turned my head to the other side of the bed hoping to catch a bit more sleep. But fate had other plans—my cell phone began to ring.

"God damnit!" I cursed in frustration and reached for my phone. It was conveniently placed on the small wardrobe next to the bed, so I didn't have to leave the comfort of my covers.

It was Jason calling.

Rolling my eyes, I was about to place my phone back when I received a text from Mom.

I scoffed as I read through the lengthy text.

In summary, Mister Jacob had withdrawn my expulsion and Mom wanted me back in college. I guess Mister Gary's influence did it… Because it's almost impossible to revoke an expulsion.

Either way, the news didn't make me feel any better. With a frustrated sigh, I tossed my phone aside, not caring where it landed, and buried my head under the blankets.

I was angry. I really don't want to go back to that school, at least not yet. The wounds from last night's event were still fresh in my mind, and the thought of facing Jason at school only added salt to it.

I heard the door knob click and I pulled the covers away from my face, only to find Landon standing in my room.

"Don't you know how to knock?!" I snapped, glaring at him.

"You don't tell me what to do," he replied monotonously, returning my glare.

He tossed a sachet of pills at me. "You complained about stomach issues last night. Take two of those and come downstairs for breakfast. Uncle Andrew is waiting," he added before walking out, leaving the door ajar.

Dispelling my anger with a sigh, I indifferently checked out the pills and threw it over my shoulder. I am perfectly fine and won't be needing it.

Uncle Andrew... He must be the person Mister Gary promised to bring over to look after us. Despite my desire to stay cocooned in bed all day, my rumbling stomach forced me to get up.

As I made my way through the hallway, I couldn't help but notice the opulence that surrounded me. Every item I had come across for the past nine hours screamed wealth. I had only arrived yesterday, yet I was feeling tempted to explore every corner of the mansion.

Now, I understand why jerkface is so arrogant. His father was obscenely rich, even more so than I had imagined— it's actually a perfect combo for an alpha.

My fluffy pink slippers faintly slapped against the sparkling polished marble floor as I descended the staircase. Drawing closer to the kitchen, the mouthwatering aroma of waffle nachos wafted into my nostrils, causing my stomach to grumble even more.

I pushed open the kitchen door and stepped inside, finding the room empty but the dining table was set.

"Where are they?" I briefly wondered. I wasn't particularly concerned about their whereabouts but I do care to get those waffles into my stomach.

Quickly taking my seat, I reached for the chopsticks, eager to dig in. But before I could, a new, even more delicious scent suddenly filled the room overpowering the waffle aroma and I couldn't help but pause, trying to identify its source.

Sandalwood and musk—I caught the scent and a thrill coursed through my body. I frowned, wondering what was happening to me.

"Hey, you must be Allison," a husky voice suddenly came from behind me.

Startled, I jumped back and found myself locking eyes with a pair of piercing gray hunter eyes.

My eyes suddenly had a mind of its own as they shamelessly took a tour on his upper body. The hugging singlet he had on left little to my imagination as it accentuated every outline of his shredded torso. My hands suddenly hitch to explore them.

Come on, Allison. He is your uncle. I berated my mind from thinking wild.

"I'm Andrew," his velvety voice came up again, slightly bringing composure to my senses, but it was fleeting as my wolf excitedly purred.

“Mate!"

All the composure I had managed to gather disappeared in an instant, leaving me wide-eyed.
