The next day came faster than I expected, and no amount of wishing could slow it down. I stood outside the gates of Alpha Nicholas’s villa with my hand wrapped tightly around the handle of my luggage and stared ahead at the massive building ahead of me. It stood tall, stretching across a wide piece of land with high walls and iron gates. I tightened my grip on the luggage and let out a slow breath, trying to steady myself. My mother had already gone in ahead of me as Alpha Nicholas himself had come around earlier to receive her. Before she left, she had turned to me and said something that made me tear up a bit. “Take just a few things, Jade. We won’t be needing the rest anymore. Things are different now.” I had nodded at the time, but I knew deep down that I wasn't listening to her. Now, as I stood there with my large luggage filled with the stuff she had told me to leave behind, I knew exactly why I hadn’t listened. I could not bring myself to leave the last memories of my father that I could still hold on to. I swallowed hard and began dragging the luggage forward. The wheels scraped against the ground as I pulled it along the paved path leading to the entrance. Just then, I heard a scoff and slowly, I lifted my head. They were there. Standing on the rooftop patio and leaning casually against the railing, the triplets looked down at me. I looked away immediately and kept walking. However, I could feel their eyes on me with every step I took, and it made my heart pound in my chest. I had already made up my mind the night before that I was not going to give them any reaction. I was going to stay out of their way as much as possible. That was the only way I could survive this. I was almost at the entrance when I slipped. It was so sudden that I did not even have time to react properly. One moment I was walking, and the next, my balance shifted completely. My grip on the luggage loosened, and before I could steady myself, I fell forward. The impact knocked the air out of my lungs, and for a second, all I could do was lie there, stunned. The luggage landed beside me with a loud thud, and when I turned my head, I saw that all the contents had spilled out onto the ground. Then the laughter came. Randy’s laughter was the loudest, his shoulders shaking as he leaned slightly forward against the railing. Liam had a small, mocking smile on his face, while Carl shook his head slowly, as if he had expected nothing less. Heat rushed to my face, a mix of embarrassment and anger burning through me. “How could you bring your pile of waste into our mansion?” Liam chuckled. The words hit me, but I said nothing. “See?” Randy added, his tone dripping with mockery. “Even the trash is smarter than you. It knows it’s not worth entering our abode, that’s why it fell apart." Carl let out a sigh and shook his head but he didn't say anything. I closed my eyes briefly and forced myself to take a deep breath. What a grand entrance I had made! Slowly, I pushed myself up from the ground. My hands trembled slightly, but I ignored it as I brushed the dust off my clothes. Then I turned to the scattered items. My heart ached when I saw the bracelet my father had given me on my sixteenth birthday. The impact had cut the strings and the beads lay scattered across the pavement. I swallowed hard and knelt down, quickly gathering them. Carefully, I placed all my stuff back into the box, making sure nothing else fell out. I could feel the sting of their gazes on me from above as I started moving again but I didn't care much. A maid opened the front door when I got there and smiled at me. “Miss Jade,” she said politely. “Please come in. I will assist you.” The maid took hold of my luggage before I could protest and began leading the way through the hall. I followed silently, my eyes moving around as I took in everything. The place was larger than I had expected. The ceilings were high, the hallways long, and there were doors everywhere. We walked for what felt like several minutes before she finally stopped in front of one of the doors. “This will be your room,” she said, opening it for me. I stepped inside slowly and assessed the whole place quickly. A large bed sat in the center, neatly made with clean sheets. There was a dresser, a desk, and a window that overlooked part of the estate. Everything was arranged perfectly. “Your belongings will be arranged shortly,” the maid said, placing my luggage inside before stepping back. “If you need anything, please let me know.” I nodded again, and she left, closing the door behind her. Then I let out a slow breath and sat on the bed. This was it. This was my new reality. “I’ll be fine,” I whispered to myself although I did not know if that was true. The rest of the day passed slowly but I stayed in my room. I didn't even bother to go looking for my mother as I was too scared of running into those annoying brats. At some point, a maid knocked and informed me that dinner was ready, but I told her I was not hungry. By the time night came, I was exhausted. I turned off the lights and lay down, pulling the covers over my body before closing my eyes. Before sleep finally came, I made a promise to myself. I was going to do my best to avoid them. I was not going to allow them break me. That was the only way I could survive this place. And with the comfort of that thought, I finally drifted off to sleep. However, the next morning came with problems of its own. I was already running late for school and I had barely settled into the back seat of the car when the door was pulled open again. Before I could even react, a strong hand grabbed my arm. I barely had time to register what was happening before I was yanked forward. “Get down," Liam growled.JADEI stood frozen in the middle of the infirmary room, my body trembling visibly as waves of emotion and strange sensations washed over me. My legs felt unsteady beneath me, and I had to place one hand against the wall to keep myself from swaying. Now, I could see and feel the rise and fall of their energies now. Liam’s energy appeared exactly as his nature suggested, with frosty and ice-like swirls emanating from his core. Randy’s burned fiery and intense with barely contained heat. Carl’s energy felt different from both of his brothers, a gentle mix of the two, almost lukewarm in its balance. However, all of them were positive energies. There was absolutely no malice or bad blood in them. Seeing as it was positive left me secretly relieved. At least they weren't like Kaden’s, which had always appeared dark.In my head, I could literally hear the triplets’ confused murmurs. They were wondering how I could hear them at all, and for how long it had been happening. I sighed and rubb
JADEI stood there in the infirmary room, my heart pounding so hard in my chest. The boys had no idea what was happening inside me right at that moment.. I had not even needed to lay a single finger on her before the visions started flooding in.This time, what I saw left me even more stunned than before. They were not lying, Miranda was truly dying. Her energy level was below ten percent and the thought that we could lose her at any moment made my stomach twist into knots, and a cold shiver ran down my spine.Without thinking, my body moved on its own. I took several steps backward, away from Miranda’s bed, until my back nearly touched the wall. The distance helped a little, but the images still remained clear in my mind. I could not shake the feeling that something terrible was feeding on her, pulling her deeper into unconsciousness with every passing second. The triplets noticed my movement immediately. Their attention shifted from Miranda to me in a flash. Carl was by my side in a
JADERandy stared at his brothers with his mouth slightly open and shock written all over his face. He focused mostly on Liam, his eyes narrowing as if he could not believe what he had just heard. Then he let out a low chuckle that sent chills down my spine.“Are you getting soft like Carl now, Liam?” Randy asked, his voice dripping with mockery. He shook his head slowly and glanced back at me. “Why do we even have to beg her? She can’t dare refuse us.”His words hit me like a slap. I felt my cheeks burn with anger and disbelief. How could he speak about me as if I were some object they could command whenever they wanted? I had come to the private study room, totally exhausted because I already knew how these sessions usually ended, with me feeling provoked. However, I never expected it to turn into this.“I’m not helping anymore,” I snapped.Randy’s hand shot out and grabbed my wrist before I could step back. His grip was tight and painful. "You don’t have a choice in the matter
LIAMA few minutes into their presence, I got the news that they hadn't been able to get any meaningful information from Miranda's boyfriend and friends either.I leaned back in my chair, rubbing my temple with two fingers as the weight of the situation worried me. We had spent the last two days questioning everyone close to Miranda, hoping for even the smallest clue but there was nothing. Her boyfriend had looked confused and worried, repeating the same story about her complaining of mild stomach pain the day before. Her friends had said the same thing, there had been no strange encounters or unusual people. She was just a normal girl whose life had suddenly been cut short by something none of us could see.Today, being another day of our study session with Jade, I noticed Carl was more excited than usual. I did not have to ask because it was obvious something was going on between him and Jade these few days. The way he looked at her, the small smiles he tried to hide, it all pointe
LIAMIt was barely two days after Kaden and Jade were appointed class president and vice president.I sat in our private study room of the triplets, lost in thoughts as memories of my conversation with Miranda's mom came to my mind. I had found out from her mother that she was the only child, and when I told her what had happened in the yoga hall, she had panicked immediately. When she eventually saw Miranda in the infirmary, she was lost for words. According to her, Miranda had seemed normal the last time they spoke. I had promised her we would find answers, but as I sat here now, I doubted I could do any good.I remembered how we were informed by the pack's school doctor at the infirmary that we should hurry up and get a solution to Miranda's case soon or she would die before the next 48 hours elapses. The instruction had come yesterday, and that left us less than 24 hours now to find a solution.I ran a hand through my hair, frustration building inside me. We had tried everythin
JADEBefore he could get the wrong impression, I disentangled quickly from his arms and shifted further away from him. He smirked as he held up my diary in his hand, turning it slowly between his fingers like it was the most interesting thing he had ever seen. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and the corner of his mouth lifted in that annoyingly confident way that always made my stomach flip. “So, Jade,” he said, his voice low and teasing, “what exactly are you hiding in here that you don’t want me to see? Is it all those secret thoughts about how much you hate us? Or maybe something a little more interesting?”"What? That's a lie! I'm not.... That's not..."I tried to respond, but my words came out incoherent, a jumbled mess of half-formed sentences that made no sense even to me. My cheeks burned hot, and I could feel the heat spreading down my neck. I reached for the diary again, but Carl held it just out of reach, leaning his face even closer with that same smirk still playing o
LIAMThe next thirty minutes at the cottage proved to me that the guy, Finn was not a bad person. He treated us respectfully from the moment we stepped inside the small cottage, offering us seats near the wooden table and speaking in a calm, measured voice that carried no challenge. The herbal scen
RANDYEver since she discovered we were mated and had rejected us in front of the whole class, she had been acting all weird - fainting, avoiding us, pushing back one moment and looking lost the next. I disliked that I was mated to someone so weak in the first place. It was normal for her to suffer
LIAMI sat in father’s study that night with Randy and Carl beside me. My body still carried the tension from the locker room earlier, and my wolf paced restlessly inside me, upset over how easily Kaden had pushed back against us. We had come to tell our father everything, the way Kaden had dodge
JADEValerie’s eyes widened the moment I stepped away from Kaden. Her mouth opened slightly in surprise and she looked between the two of us with confusion written across her face. Kaden also froze, his arm still hanging in the air where my shoulder had been a second ago. His playful smile faded i
