KARLA'S POV

Most of the pack members took Ace up on his offer for breakfast. They milled around the pack while the kitchen staff worked hard to keep up with everyone's demands. Ace showed his face, and he intended for it to be brief, but then the men swarmed around him, asking him about his journey and all he did to overcome all the troubles he encountered.

He had a lot of work to do, but he humored them and answered all their questions as gracefully as he could. I stayed in the kitchen and helped them with preparing the food despite their insistence that I should be resting in bed. I could feel that my body was not as strong as it should be, but I couldn't sleep without Ace.

Maybe I was developing an attachment issue after being away from him for so long, but I was not interested in dissecting my problems right now. I kept my eyes on Ace, and I stepped in when I saw all the pretty women that surrounded him. I couldn't afford for another Anita situation to happen.

"Ladies, I hope yo

The elevator ride down to the lobby felt like it took a lifetime, at least it felt that way to her.Cassie stood in the center of the steel box, her back straight, her chin up, staring at her reflection in the elevator. Her guards stood in the corners, but Cassie wasn't looking at them. She was looking at the woman in the reflection. She looked like she belonged in the white suit and pretty heels and calm facade, but deep inside, she felt like she was about to vomit. The minute the elevator slid open in the underground garage, her mask slipped, making her knees buckle a bit."Ms. Stone?" The nearest guard quickly reached out to steady her."I'm fine," she breathed out, though her voice lacked the boom it had upstairs. "Just... get me to the car."They moved quickly toward the convoy of black SUVs waiting for her. As Cassie approached the middle vehicle, the back door opened from the inside. She climbed in, sinking into the comfortable leather seat. The door slammed shut, effectively s

  • MATED TO THE ALPHA TWINS    CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED

KARLA'S POV A week later, the coven had chosen a date for my coronation and initiation ceremony. They also agreed to my suggestion that we have the initiation in the coven and then host the coronation ceremony in the pack house."Wow, I thought there would be a bit of argument there." I told them after they readily agreed to my proposal. Not one of them opposed me. "Why would we? You are our leader; you know what's best for us," was Sonia's simple response. It then dawned on me how big of a responsibility was on my shoulders. Any decision I made was going to affect all 150 witches that were under my watch, but this time, I didn't freak out; I embraced the responsibility. "What if I don't make the best reasons?""Well, do you have any reason you want us to have the coronation in the midst of wolves?""Yes, actually. I want the stigma around witches to be completely erased. Witches are always hiding, and that's enough. I also want wolves to stop looking down on witches. Most wolves d

THIRD PERSON'S POV When the witches received Karla's letter, Sonia thought for sure that she was turning down their request. She was even hesitant to open the letter. She also wondered how she was supposed to tell the others that she had turned them down. It took her two whole days before she could bring herself to open the letter. When she did and went through the letter, she laughed to herself and at herself. She wasn't rejecting them at all, she was skeptical about the fact that she was a hybrid who wasn't willing to hide a part of herself for the other part. Sonia knew she had no problem with the fact that she was a hybrid, but she still wanted to get the opinions of others on the matter, so she called a meeting. "What I want to talk about is the issue of our new leader.""She's an issue now?""Not at all, but it could be. It all depends on what the majority decides.""Has she agreed yet? I need to know so I can look for an auspicious date and also send out invites for her initi

KARLA'S POV I went to visit them with Rayden and spent more than ten hours with the witches before Rayden and I decided to call it a day. "Can you believe what just happened?" I said to Rayden when we were well out of their sight."I know, right? It's very rare that the coven asks someone they barely know to be a friend of the coven." He said excitedly."That was what stood out to you out of everything that happened today?""It was really weird. It's an exciting offer." He really was excited about it; by the way, his lips couldn't stop smiling. "What does it really entail?" "I get all the benefits the members get, and I get to weigh in on important decisions. It's like being in a coven without actually being in a coven, you know? It's the perfect thing for me right now, seeing as things are really crazy in the pack right now, what with the moving and all that.""Funny how you should mention that because I just got offered the leadership of an entire coven. What the hell do I know

  • MATED TO THE ALPHA TWINS    CHAPTER NINETY-SEVEN

THIRD PERSON'S POV Things were finally going back to normal in the BlueMoon Pack. It would definitely take a long time before things would go back to the way they were before Aiden took over, but they were on the path. The journey would be a long one, but they were fortunate to have a leader that cared about them genuinely. The first thing he did when he got the pack's finances under control was destroy the segregation that his brother enforced. All wolves were equal irrespective of their ranks. It was not an easy task because the higher-ranking wolves had started to believe that they were superior and had started to treat omegas as slaves they had a right to. In the schools, they made omegas sit apart. In the hospital, too, it was the same. The healers wouldn't prioritize an omega's health over a gamma or a beta, irrespective of what their illness was.It was Rayden that sent his men undercover to make sure that they weren't just working with hearsay. The report of his men was even

  • MATED TO THE ALPHA TWINS    CHAPTER NINETY-SIX

KARLA'S POV I narrowed my eyes at my mother. "You must think I'm some kind of pushover, don't you? You brought him here? For what purpose exactly? To play happy family?" The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. What did they take me for?Lucien stepped in front of her, as if to shield her from my attack, and I scoffed. They were so good at protecting each other. I was the outsider that was way more trouble."We all get that you're angry, Kid." Lucien said calmly, and I wondered what exactly was going on. Was he begging for my forgiveness or berating me?"Leave." I said calmly too to level his tone. "I want all of you to leave this place and never come back.""You can't...""Take the chance now that I'm being nice, or I'll have the guards throw you out or worse, boot all of you from this pack." I raised my voice a bit so they knew I wasn't playing around. I would not do that to any one of them, though. If there's anyone that knows what it feels like to be uprooted from a pla
