CAIN’S POV I hesitated before sharing my findings with my father and the elders but I knew that I had to tell them, there was just no way for me to avoid coming clean to them. I also didn’t feel like I owed anything to Amber because she had lied to me and I thought we were close, I felt very betrayed by her. However, I knew that even if I hadn’t told them about Amber they would soon find out on their own because they were already very suspicious of her. They were just not going to believe me if I told them that I had found nothing. They were also going to send someone in who would search that room and find things that I hadn’t found, the last thing I wanted was to be accused of taking the side of an impostor. My father had been very convinced that there had to be something that would reveal who Amber really was and he thought that he had to have left something here that would give them the answers that they needed. However, I still wanted to know about the spy that they had at the pa
CHAD’S POV At first, Jeff thought that the long way to alpha Robert’s pack would calm me down but he soon realized that was in no mood to play games and I was determined to fulfill my mission. I meant what I said when I said I wanted Alpha Robert dead and he was about to find that out. We were now entering the pack’s territory and I realized that we were now being followed by the guards. They had clearly noticed the royal cars and I couldn’t quite figure out if they decided to join us or if they were simply keeping an eye on us. I wondered what they thought I was here to do because I thought it was obvious that I was here for business because no royal car had ever been here.”I see we have been noticed” Jeff pointed out and he was pointing out something that I had been expecting.“I expected it,” I said as I focused on the road ahead and soon we were pulling up into the pack house where I realized that Robert had already been alerted of our presence and he was waiting for us outside
CHAD’S POV When I woke up, I woke up to Amber complaining right next to me, it sounded like she was complaining about the fact that I was lying unconscious and how she should have just followed me. She was angry with me for not allowing her to follow me to her father’s pack and she was pacing up and down in the room and she couldn’t even see that I had woken up. I tried to get up but then I was reminded of my wounds by a sharp pain that hot through my arm as I tried to get up and I groaned finally getting her attention.“Chad you are awake” she said as she ran to me and helped me sit up, Amber was much stronger than she looked “you got shot” she pointed out but its sounded more like a complaint.“Yeah, I said. How long have I been out?” I asked her and her eyes softened“You slept through the night, after the doctor removed the silver bullet from your arm he gave you some strong medicine,” she said“Did he say what kind of bullet it was?” I asked her”Does it matter?” she asked me” a
AMBER’S POV I couldn’t bear the thought of placing everyone else in danger all because of me and the decisions that I had made. I had chosen to join the vampire coven and I had chosen to come here as a spy for them, I couldn’t risk the lives of the very people that I had intended to kill. I couldn’t even celebrate my father’s death because I was now so worried about the new threat that had been made against my life. I wanted to confront Natasha and ask her why she had chosen to betray the king that she had claimed to love so much but I decided to let her be because the perfect person to confront her about that was Chad. He was the king and she owed her loyalty to him and not me, she owed him an apology and not me. I also felt like I would be a hypocrite if I confronted her because at the end of the day I had come into the royal city as a spy for the vampire too.I didn’t know what to do with myself once more, Chad was back and he was safe but now something else was making me restless
AMBER’S POV After I got out of the royal City I went back to the location where I had found my bike wondering if it was still there and to my surprise it was. They really meant it when they said there was little to no crime in the royal city. Although I hadn’t left my bike in the royal city territory. I picked up my bike and another miracle happened, the bike was actually still working. I don’t know why I expected it to not be working but I had just left it out here for so long that I didn’t expect it to have any life in it. Seeing it come to life was a miracle and it reminded me of my love for fast vehicles. I couldn't explore that passion while I was at the palace because I was always indoors. My thoughts of the life that I had left back at the palace made me realize that I was already missing Chad and that place. It had become m home and although it had been a challenge for the wolves that lived there to accept me, I had already started settling in.I wondered how Chad was doing a
CHAD’S POVThere was no time to waste, we had to get Amber out of that place before they did anything to her. I had never been to the vampire territory and I had never dealt with a vampire before so I really didn’t know what the day held for me. I didn’t know what to expect from them but thank goodness I had Jeff who had some experience with the vampire coven. He knew what their weaknesses were and he knew how to kill them. I knew that doing this with no experience or training would be hard for me but there was no time for training. We just had to go in there and rescue Amber and then get out, I didn’t want us to waste any time because we didn’t know what their plans were and when they were planning to kill her“Did you manage to get all the warriors lined up?” I asked Jeff as we were in my office planning a way in“Yes I did,” he said“It’s kind of hard planning this without any idea of what the layout of that territory looks like” I complained and he sighed“I haven’t been there sin
CAIN’S POV After Amber’s meeting with the elders, I went into the meeting hall with hopes of seeing her before they imprisoned her but I was met by my father who also seemed to want to talk to her before the guards took her away. Amber was close to tears and I couldn’t help wondering why she was so upset, what had my father said to her this time. “I thought you were gone,” I said as I walked in “What are you doing here?” he asked me “I want to speak to Amber before you take her away,” I said, “why are you still here?” I asked him and he looked away. I knew my father well enough to know that he was about to lie to me. “I was just about to leave,” he said and then he walked out leaving me with Amber “Do you see the damage that you have caused?” I asked her “my father took you in as his own child, we all trusted you” “Spare me that bullshit Cain… your father wanted me dead from the day he grew suspicious of me. Why else would he send me to the wolf territory if he wasn’t hoping th
CHAD’S POVWhen we first arrived at the vampire coven I was not only excited by the action that was going on everywhere around me but also because I was about to see my mate. However, I was a little worried that we may have been a little late in getting to her. While I entered the coven searching for Amber, Jeff and the others remained outside where the real fight was happening. It took a while for me to finally locate my mate and when I found her she seemed a little disorientated and seemed to not think that I was even real.it was a little funny and cute at the same time but we had to hurry and get out so there was no time for me to dwell on the cuteness of my disorientated mate.I was angered by the conditions in which they had been keeping her because Amber was a queen and she didn’t deserve to be treated like some kind of a prisoner who had committed some kind of a big crime. The only crime she seemed to have committed in their eyes was to be born and to search for a place in whic
